R: Fairly good at level 11 and onwards but it only has +20 base dps at level 6. I'm not sure how long the knockup is but it seems to be around 1 second.
Well it adds to all dmg... If you have 1-2 doran blades as imo you should on this guy, the ult is going to do around 500 physical dmg, which imo is really nice.
Well yes but considering the fact that it's a 1:1 total ad scaling it pretty much means you would do nearly the same damage autoattacking with your AS boost from Nimbus Strike.
The thing is that it's an aoe and has a short disable. Hitting only 2 ppl with it means doubling your damage output. Also hitting stuff with it is easyer.
What suprises me is that ppl only consider him as a top laner or jungler. I can imagine him much better at bottom lane with an aggressive support such as taric, nidalee, janna to shut down lanes, because A) his passive scales better there and B) with his dash in and dash out he can trade blows without getting kited?
Also looking at his abilities I'am not sure if phreak got it right during his spotlight. He suggested building him tanky but what does a tank without disables and sustain do? Isn't his skillset screaming carry?
I've been building him purely damage with R>Q>E>W. The reason is because Q max simply gives you so much more burst than E max in lane. Also, with defensive mastery+defensive runes+passive, you're pretty darn tanky without needing to invest much gold in defense at all.
My build wiht him currently is BC ghostblade into w/e i feel like I need. Triforce seems like a great item on him, the synergy with Q is awesome, but the reason I dont build it is 'cause it's expensive as hell and your ulti scales so damn well with AD. In a team fight, you're gonna be in ulti for half the time and rushing a Triforce means your total AD will be pretty low. With BC, your AD is high enough so taht your lvl 3 ult will be doing ridiculous AoE physical damage, and your autoattacks hurt like a bitch as well 'cause Q+armor shred = basically true damage on squishies.

Ranged carries also blow up in half a second. What you mean is tanks, not melee carries. What makes AD based tanks viable (triforce+tank items / atmogs build) is their CC and/or support spells.
Wukong has neither. So building him as a tank seems like building akali as a tank or master yi.
I'am not saying that you should only build dps on a melee carry. But the less utility a champion provides the more damage he has to do IMO.

Yeah I agree. His lategame is fine but his laning just seems lackluster based on his kit, at least compared to the crazy 1 million damage mages or super sustain tanks that we have.
I played a game with a Jax today and he really surprised me. He made really strong ganks in the laning phase and after the guy was like 1v3 or 1v4 and he managed to get one or two squishy/low health champs before dying

but yeah, in my shitty elo where nothing matters, I've laned bot with Monkey as partner a number of times as malz/aniv/generic caster and he seemed very similar to a jax/yi/irelia in how he played and built items. I also was vs him top as Mord and fuck if I didn't ult/ignite his clone THREE times...
loco do you have a smurf named "locododo"? If so, stop kicking my caitlyn away from my mid tower ;(
On topic: Haven't seen a monkey king yet that made me say "wow, that's OP". Some strong ones, but way too many people that don't know how to play him and have low CS and merc treads + triforce only at the 30 min mark.
Also seen WAY too many fail stop jukes and obvious decoys - seems like a silly trick.
i don't see why triforce instead of atmogs or atmallet =/ not like triforce is useful while ulting, and he's not the type to spam abilities while beating someone down.
The only offensive stat he really wants is AD, and while triforce provides a good package, most of that package is only okay on him. he's rather get more tank. or more AD. kinda like panth i feel.

Yea same. I like getting a BF sword item on him first (usually BC 'cuase it has nice synergy with Q) then a Triforce later in the game if I'm getting fed or soemthing.
I think I pretty much figured out the lee sin build, at least if you're laning him. Start appropriate item, couple dblades, phage, negatron and chain vest, atmas, fon, triforce. Mallet is bad on him, phage is his key item. Triforce is legit but you want to get it kinda late, after you're already tanky.
Ugh, I said yes to an automatic flash udpate and now I can't watch any of the solomid streams. Any idea how to fix this? I tried an uninstall/reinstall and a restart and can't seem to find anything on riot forums or googling. The commercials play but it's just a black screen afterwards with no sound.
Edit: maybe it was java actually, I just clicked yes to make it go away. would java affect the streaming?

I don't know whether he's overpowered, but the leap strike AD ratio buff is HUGE for his early game, since it takes into account the base damage, and Jax is someone who can faceroll from a good early game VERY well.

It just got back to how it was earlier. Jax wasn't OP back then either.
Jax is ok if you can lane him vs someone nice top but his problem is he's countered so easily (Mordekaiser)
And also the fact that he needs to be in the middle of everything in teamfights and he honestly dies really quickly to some focusfire by mages, and physical with SOTD just totally counters him as Jax tends to not get any armor.
If he gets fed early he's super strong in the midgame, but it's hard to get fed early as he doesn't beat or go even with almost any common solo top and Mordekaizer is impossible to beat for Jax.

No, but I've been having trouble all day too. I've managed to fix it just by hitting the refresh stream button, and it seems to load quickly thereafter.

Fortunately at 1500 (and counting!) he solos top just fine. Especially if you go all out offensive from level one and are willing to trade kills (whatever gets you to lategame faster).
Speaking of Jax vs. Morde in ranked,
my response when things like this happen is usually "If I wasn't lucky, I wouldn't play Jax." + Show Spoiler +
Yes I lived. That Morde was unhappy, to say the least.
Well it's true it's being reverted; I didn't pay attention to the nerf a while back Q.Q
That said, I don't know whether I buy that Jax needs to be in the middle of everything since with standard AP build (Drings -> Deathcap) he has like 3000HP by deathcap.
His burst is very powerful for a tanky DPS, and his full loadout would be comparable to any caster, so if he can just dump that onto a squishy, and then flash out and burst again, he can comfortable clean up after that.
