San was a gimmick, HongUn is a gimmick too, he will drop down to code b and never come back.
Anyway, back to Destiny's "mass infestor 1a" thing, it definitely requires further attention from pros. The style has a lot of fungals/infested terrans and a lot of lings that it can crush any terran push/drop. I hope he can showcase that well against rain.

In other words: no, you don't want to elaborate. ^^

First of all, I think to be gimmicky you have to have an abusive style that your playstyle relies on (kinda like Destiny with his infestors).
San was a laughingstock of the GSL for a while, then made one good run and vanished soon after. Hongun on the other hand is one of the most consistent players who have never been in the finals, right up there with Nada. He always seems to get into the further rounds, twice even RO4. He has also shown a wide variety of builds and plays, including straight up macro games, so no gimmicks there. He might drop, but if he does it'll be because of his injuries - not because he isn't deserving of a code S spot.

You can't compare Infestors to Void Rays. A bronze level player can 1a 15 void rays into an army and win. A bronze level player cannot 1a 15 infestors into an army and win.
You dismiss the finesse it takes to use infestors effectively as a "you only need to...", but doing that is both wrong and ignorant!

If Rain just looks at one of Destiny's games then I'm sure he will win.

Should be a fun series. He went 2-1 vs ZenexPuzzle in games I was watching earlier. I think they played more so not sure the end result, but he is definitely very abusive with his mass infestors. Such a strong unit

Rain if you are reading this - watch Destiny's games! haha.

The fact that Destiny does well on ladder and can randomly take games off pros but loses straight away in IPL and MLG suggests that his playstyle is not consistent or safe enough to do well when the opponent can prepare. The games I watched of Socke and Axslav play against Destiny, when they won, were a roll. Why? Because, they just took a third, and Destiny could do absolutely nothing about it.
If Rain is aware that his opponent goes mass infestor, he can either get ghosts, or do a 1 base timing, or banshee play. Marauder Hellion timing seems pretty good against Infestor rushing as Spinecrawlers are pretty terrible against marauders. Destiny will beat Rain if Rain doesn't scout properly or does a terrible build.

I saw this one game where Destiny built Broodlords!

Meh, those games were more than a month ago. I by no means think that Destiny is a top player, but he's at least now in that mid-pro region where he can take games off anyone and some matches too.
From what I've seen, he seems to be pretty decent at denying thirds most of the time; generally backs off correctly when needed too. I just love his style because I'm so used to when zerg gets behind at all, they pretty much just instantly die. His strong unit composition allows for comeback games which are so rare in any vz matchups. Anyway, I don't know if he will win (especially in the long run of this series) but the games should at least be entertaining.

Just to expand on this - he beats alot of his opponents with really wierd timings, or just strange builds - In the IPL he beat socke game one with his two base infestor rush, in game 3 Socke just took a really quick third and rolled it with gate way units and archons.
Destiny lost game one, although it was really down to the wire. Game two he did something really cool to win. Can't remember game three, so I guess it wasn't very good.

And I think Destiny can take Rain easy. Bomber > Rain.

Unless it happened twice then I think you mean Axslav... Atleast I know Axslav lost to a 2 base infestor timing then cannon rushed game 2 and took game 3 with early 3rd and a lot of gateway units and investors...
Axslav Fighting xD

ho, this is amazing :o i hope there will be many iterations in this showmatch series. sounds like such a great idea

Is this like Drewbie vs Europe on steroids? =P
I think Destiny has the ability to take Rain down. While disliking Destiny is somewhat of a hip trend, if you've watched him recently you can see that the guy means serious business.
Rain is not an awful player, but neither he is particularly good either. At this point I wouldn't rate him higher than Select (who is very good in his own right, but someone Destiny can take games from without it being that much of a surprise) and qxc.

Hope Rain wins, there is only so many games of his I can watch where he just makes 30 infestors, abuses them, loses them all with bad micro like versus Bomber, then remakes 20 more and wins.

Rain's TvZ isn't exactly inspirational to watch either.
