It seems like the best way to play is to have 1 player go pure macro while the other goes elemental and makes pure towers, covering both lanes. You can handle the early levels pretty well using the splash units, and later on the macro player becomes so ridiculously overpowered it's pretty much impossible to lose. That's from my experiences at least.

There is only one trick to the game, and if you play zerg on the ladder you have a one-up on everyone else. The only trick is when to build scv's and when to build units. You want to build just enough units to survive the wave and everything else into scv's/scv speed. The only hard part in the game (I win every time I play :/) is the first infestor. And the trick to that guy is to have 2 high templar by the time he comes. They will annihilate him. The rest of the game is all down hill from there. Just start sending big mobs at the other team and it's gg. BIG NOTE: people on the other team that go "pure econ" are terrible. Do not do this. It is dumb. NOTE#2: if, however, you want to transition to "pure econ" after about the infestor round, that's fine, because your scv count will skyrocket past anyone that went pure econ from the beginning and, once again, it's gg.

If you can't kill the level 10 boss like this, you need major work. If you can kill the boss, you are on the right track. The goal after this part is being able to cut out what you don't need to work in as many SCVs as possible while still not leaking Wave 10 and every wave before it, as well as doing decent against common sends from the opponents (Wave 2 zealot, Wave 5 immortal can be tough depending on race, wave 10 thors etc. etc.) and adapting your build to what you need.

I've found a bunch of builds that list building only a single warp prism for the first wave but that hasn't worked any of the times that I've tried that. So I'm thinking that the two possibilities are that it got nerfed, or I'm doing something wrong. Is there something about the placement I should know or something? Where did you find builds? I like this game its fun. But what level you are indicates only how much you play. Making it to the last level is fun.

Recommendation, get to 40 and customize, up to 25 again. 1. Bone warrior (15) 2. Aquas (50) 3. Captain (110) 4. Roach (105) 5. Disciple (200) 6. Dark templar (315?) Captain and Roach give good buffs, T1 can customize to 3, aqua does good early game splash. This is the set up I almost ALWAYS use

Post by Mcdoolin and MaxRizk Throw in a shout out to Danger_Duck, we played a few against you love the the build man. Recommended build for Custom Builder (prestige required for custom builder). 1. Ent (Guardian) 2. Wanderer (Soul Of Villain) 3. Watcher 4. Tempest (Leviathan) 5. Grizzly (Greymartch) 6. Dark Priest (Meridian) This is a hybrid build, the goal is to spend as much money as possible in your economy without leaking your waves. In my experience a hybrid build will out pace people going full economy and full defense. This will scale as the game goes on and you will have more money and a full economy around wave 25 and then you will be constructing nothing but fighting units. By the end u have more minerals then you can spend in the building time. Sometimes a wave may leak through if u get a bad send early on but your economy will more then make up for the lost minerals. For the build, start with a Watcher and and Ent round 1. You then want to be purchasing Scvs, building more towers, and upgrading towers. By round ten you want 2 Guardians, 2 Ents, 1 Soul of Villain, 1 tempest, your watcher(Note don't upgrade watcher you will sell him later) , 7 Scvs and your first speed boost. Exact build order needs to be changed depending on your leaks and the sends you have received. After this you build more Guardians, Soul of Villains, and leviathans(Upgraded tempests). Once you have finished a row of Guardians, a row of leviathans, and some Soul of villains; begin to add Dark Priests in the back. Lastly expand you guardians forward some while leaving a few holes for Grizzlies. Remember this whole time you want to be expanding you economy to allow for even more unit creation. Working on an in depth guide for Squad TD. COMING SOON!

My tips: beefy melee units are good, beefy units are good in general. Also units with fast attack speed are good as they will be good for a lot of levels, you dont necessarily need to do a ton of damage per hit if you have fast attack. TIER 1]Bone Collector->Skeletor 2]Wanderer->Soul of Hero 3]Watcher-->Violet 4]Bone Overseer->Keeper of Souls 5]Cyborg->Krogoth 6]Spawn of Dragon The nice thing about this build is that it gives you options, and it gives you a "cheap option" at all stages of the game if you need to get something else out. Note:I'm pretty sure BoneOverseer and Keeper of Souls stack with each other giving ur units 24% back on each attack. Start by getting a skeletor out as fast as you can. If you want to abuse the watcher he can take out the entire first wave, add wanderer for 2nd wave. but if you'd rather go for a fast 2 skeletors i believe you need at least 3 bone collectors for lvl 1. 2 skeletors can usually take up to roaches, where you'd want to add a watcher anyway. get up to 3 skeletors, and add on Soul of Hero as you see fit, if you get 3 skeletors you dont need as many souls, if you want more souls you dont need as many skeletors. but eventually you want to add on that Keeper of Soul. If I can afford the dragon before lvl 10 i get it, otherwise make sure you get a cyborg. This build should let you add on 2-4 scvs between level 3-8/9. be careful though i believe it's much wiser to play defensive early as it gives you more income than econ, econ won't pay off until lvl 12+ even when done very aggressively. Eventually you want to have 2-3+ dragons, 1-2 krogoth+, 3+ souls of heroes, Keeper of SOuls and Bone overseer, and then add on as you see fit. krogoth are super awesome, so are dragons. and honestly keeper of souls deal daamge like mofos as well. if you're having trouble through the rounds 9-15 get more Watchers and upgrade to violet, im pretty sure going watcher and violet only can get you to wave 15 and beyond, but once you get 4-5 violets you're better off getting something else. if you're having trouble late game you didnt get enough econ

I would love all the help I can get in making the guide. I am trying to make it as detailed as possible, because i think there are alot of new players that do not fully understand the game. I have however seen an uptick in games going to higher levels and not around 15, which i think is a good sign that the community is improving. I will look for you in the game. Probably wont start most of the work on the guide until the summer semester is finished, sometime around August 10. I would love for the guide to include as many legit builds that people can come up with, giving the appropriate credit to their creators. I think that will help in the explanation of correct unit compositions

I have only played this a few days yet, but I have at least a build which get 8-9 workers(depending on ally and/or enemy leaking) and a speed upgrade by level 10 without leaking unless getting hard summons on lvl 3 or 8. My custom builder is Ent Carrion spitter Watcher Tree of travel Disciple Lord of Death

If they reach the end you only get 1 income per kill and the OTHER team gets income if your base defense is doing the killing I'd advise trying out the captain/roach level 3/4 combos. Their buffs are pretty epic

Their buffs are pretty epic I do not have a hard time, except for bad team mates, which is why a refrain from mid-builds. I just can't trust a random dude with the economy or defense. The average skill lvl on battlenet is scary low. I know most mechanics of this game from the inside out, since I have played its predecessor, Legion TD, a lot. The problem with captain and roach are that they aren't that good units in themselves, and you do not benefit so much from their auras unless you have a big army. My focus is to get my economy going as fast as possible, and roach/captain don't let me do that very well. You do not have a good tank, nor dps in any of them. And if you buy and upgrade them(for the auras), you are weak against wave 14 and 15(especially 15), since you will have invested a lot into medium armor and normal attack. This is a problem since wave 15 is one of the hardest waves in the game. Captain can be a decent choice as a tank vs magic attack waves(8 and 13 mostly), but I prefer the cheap and good dps you get in a watcher instead. Late game I agree they are awesome units, but getting your economy going faster means bigger late game army and more offensive play when you can send tougher summons earlier.

Anyways I and prestige 10 and have been for a very long time. I enjoy this game and I play it mostly when I am holding out new born, (Because it requires 1 hand ^^. I enjoy chaos refined and I also use nature and shadow a lot as well. I think cheap races as in money to build. Because I like to eco fast. It's important to know all the races and their abilities but once you do, you sort of begin to use what you like most of the time. This game never get's old and it is a lot of fun!
