Because it was the right call? stop blaming January every time your team's players fail, she was right to send TurN.
Right call? Sending out a rookie in that situation isn't the right call. Now he must feel like he lost his teams chances of finals. Not to mention TurN isn't known for clutch plays, even sending Stork, JangBi, or even Reality would have been better due to his match plays against JD. Grapes PvZ isn't bad either.
I find it funny that you say sending out a rookie (TurN) is not the right call but you suggest Reality instead..
1. NEotS is T>>Z>>P~T. Since Woongjin would have sent either Zero, Soulkey or Light, going with a toss player is not the greatest call. 2. Stork's vZ is not good these days, and Jangbi already went 0-3 against woongjin zergs during this series, which in addition to point 1 makes Stork/Jangbi even less desirable. 3. Khan doesn't have a good vZ sniper atm (w/ great slumping). 4. Given the map, and the likelyhood of facing a zerg, going with a terran player is the way to go. Lets look at Khan terrans: Reality and Turn (Sharp isn't really worth discussing). Neither is great vZ/vT but both have potential. TurN imo is more reliable vs Zerg (and is slightly ahead in vZ ELO).
Neither is favored against Zero or Soulkey, but with the map its certainly doable. In fact, if you watched the game TurN was in a good position to win it as of the moment he moved out, but handled his push poorly and left his nat open.
I wonder why it is you think that Reality would have fared so much better than TurN.. I can see it now, Reality goes out and loses, and out come the cries of "why Reality for ace? January why?!". People love to rag on January, and in their defense they're often right with her dubious calls. This time though she didn't actually do anything wrong.

Just saw this, heh.
Yeah, and Free teamkilled Zero out of OSL, lol. He needs to travel to India with Guemchi to get their mojo back, since WJN's toss line is the new WJN terran line.
I am so impressed with how the big 3 performed for Stars in this series 4-0 zero 3-0 SK and 2-1 light is just insane performance especially given the pressure is on. I don't see how KT even has a chance given how bad the KT coach is at picking players for maps.

"Even Reality would have been better due to his match plays against JD" did you not read the "even"? Reality is better then TurN, even the rookie award ranking says so. TurN was on a roll in the beginning but died out. If you watched reality's games against JD you can see that reality would probably have been a much better choice then TurN in that type of situation and against a Zerg. Also since it's ace match shouldn't you send out your "ace" player? Why else would they be called ace if they don't play and perform well in aces matchs. Storks PvZ isn't his best, but in crunch time he goes into super saiyan mode especially when he's playing against JD. JangBi's PvZ is good, just because he lost to 3 star zerg doesn't mean that he will definately lose the next one. Not to mention the games he was actually in a very good position but just 1 or 2 mistakes cost him the games.

You guys picked it. Jangbi was in killer form coming into the finals but ended up going 0-3. Zero simply killed everybody - although I agree if Turn had microed his army properly Zero would've been in trouble. Base-trading with a Terran = bad for Zerg right?
ok I'd just like to remind everyone that january actually has access to the practice games data and knows her player a LOT better then we all do and thus if she sent turn instead of reality there's a good reason
Januray has been khan's coach for YEARS, a bad coach can't hold on for so long so I'd like people to stop treating her as such.
edit: also, stop complaining about Juni over great, if great never was sent out it probably means that
A) He sucked in in-house games for quite a while and Juni has been doing better B) he has personal problems that won't let him focus on his play
again January has access to in-house data and thus she is in a much better position then we all are to decide if sending Juni over great is a good idea.
you guys can be mad at the players for losing the series but ffs stop blaming january for everything (who managed to abuse the holes in star's line-up to push this series to a deciding ace match even though star's line-up is far stronger on paper. she also managed to bloom many new rookies for khan such as Turn, reality, sharp, Brave and Grape. Januray deserves respect for her great coaching this season.)

KHAN's got to be heavy favorites going into next year though, if maybe not quite even with the machine that is CJ (I mean, seriously, Hydra/EffOrt/Leta/Horang2/Movie for next year is ridiculous) or the Empire that is T1.
Assume Stork and Jangbi are even decent. But the core of KHAN's rotation - Grape, Reality, TurN - were rookies this year and ought to show improvement next year. In addition, you can be hopeful that Sharp and Brave improve a lot as well. Of course, somewhere in there, KHAN needs to find a reliable Zerg, whether they see good things from Byul, or get great back in shape, or something.
KHAN fans should be looking forward to the next season. A little less than a year ago when the new Bo7 format for SPL was announced, Stork seemed like the only decent player on the team and most people (such as myself) predicted KHAN to be competing with OZ for the spot just above ACE. The team's rookies proved those predictions utterly wrong. The only question mark now is how the joker Stork will continue to perform...
I've got to say I'm not surprised at how the series turned out. I wonder what would have happened had KHAN thrown the game against ACE and faced KT instead.

Given how good Action and Hoejja have recently been, im sure they too couldve wreaked havoc on Khan like Soulkey and ZerO did.

I think we would have handled KHAN wuite easily, we are really strong against their P line-up with our zergs and stats has a winning record against both janbi and stork. I'm not saying it would be an easy win but it wouldnt be as tense as KT vs STX day 3.
What's up with Great though? Was he attending any of these playoff games (and was he missing earlier too)? Since even if he was playing really badly in training now, having him sit there as potential opponent for Stars to worry about would still help.
So I'd guess he has some personal issues to distract him, but does anyone have any facts about his situation?

are we comparing ACTION(10-15 in the last 4 months, 2-5 in the last 2 months) and HOEJJA to soulkey and zero?
