Well boys, things have gotten a little interesting. We find ourselves in the the third and final match. The winner is one step close to getting shipped into China thrown in front of a bunch of smaller asian people. Why is it good they're smaller u ask? So we can fit more people into the bloody stadium.
In the locker room with KHAN: Right about now January threatens to piss herself. Not cause she's stressed about winning or losing, but because she's run out of ways to make insane lineups that will shOck[/tlpd] the audience. The Only thing that could make it crazier is for her to slice her right tit off and have it 4pool Light.
Now let's get down to business. JangBi has become quite the disappointment. Will he win a game today? Last week everyone would cheer yes. But you are all wrong. JangBiiS not a beast and he will not become ONE. Leave it to the True heroes man. Stork will win. Why? He stopped playing other video games and has buckled down. But this match will go to 7. So we see TurN, Reality, and Always. They are Solid terrans and will be good against Stars. Sadly, two will lose. This leaves with our hero great. He has something brewing I can feel it. The ice cold Chill of January iS breathing Into the humid night of this Summer softly whispering Great. He will win. Then Ace will happen, and great gets sent again and they lose.
In the locker room with Stars: The team chemisty with Stars its What has to bother everyone. They have had a few player changes along with some seemingly Strange interviews. The need to come out strong. WJS zergs have this on lockdown. ZerO and SK easy wins. Followed with a Victory by Really yet again. The rest of the team turns to trash with the exception of a very well played Light game.
In the final Ace ZerO gets sents. He can't be stopped so Jan. sends great Into grudge match where ZerO prevails as Always.
What we've learned from this. My predictions are Always wrong so Khan will win. Thank You
What is this hype network bs? Jangbi's last game he got smashed in was really cool and creative. Khan is doing well considering how no one has developed there since THE TWIN CANNONS OF KHAN not so long ago.
I'm disappointed that Jang is 0-2 so far. He has not played poorly by any means, and Soulkey and ZerO are top quality opponents. But he needs a win to help his momentum heading into the OSL.
Dream Matchups tonight:
Stork > ZerO JangBi > Soulkey Light > great and some other things for a nice 4-1 Khan win
Don't know who to root for... T_T I like both team cause of Stork/Jangbi and Zero/Soulkey. Well... may the better team advance! So both Khan and Stars fighting!
I betted (a drink) on Woongjin, but thinking about more they look rather vulnerable due to sheer choking potential. Samsung looks to be a lot more resilient vs other teams, so im hoping for Khan to win and demolish the evil that is CJ. Khan hwaiting!

stork played well, his micro is definitely superior, i thought he was seriously fucked up when the bunker is there, but wtf the T never put any marines inside?
Why did Brave have to get so greedy with his army? He fended off the raging onslaught and so pushed far away from where he'd be able to reinforce with all those extra templar he built...
On July 12 2011 20:58 RJGooner wrote: Everybody looking forward to a Zero vs. Juni ace match?
Thanks god Chavi went to ACE. It's new empire of the sun, she could send Reality or great. Stork has no confidence against Zero. Jangbi could be ok, but Reality would be the player to send on such a TvZ imba map.
edit im typing too slow, Turn is out; hope its gonna be an epic ace match !
Neither Stork nor Jangbi would beat Zer0 and with Great out of shape, it is probably the right call... hopefully Turn has prepared some nice build for this match.
Wow, can't believe they sent out turn. :O He probably has some sick build in store for Zero. Maybe he has stolen Reality's kitchen sink build from hell?
On July 12 2011 21:04 RJGooner wrote: Hmm can any Khan fans explain why Turn instead of Reality?
Turn has a little more experience, and maybe January thinks he can handle the pressure better. We saw Reality playing very well against Really and then slowly falling apart. This is the ace game of the ace game.
On July 12 2011 21:09 jjhchsc2 wrote: Doesnt TurN have good tvz?
It's probably his best match-up, since he likes to be aggressive and TvZ is all about aggression. However, if he can't kill Zero within 10-15 minutes, he won't win.
On July 12 2011 21:06 Holgerius wrote: Wow, can't believe they sent out turn. :O He probably has some sick build in store for Zero. Maybe he has stolen Reality's kitchen sink build from hell?
I knew that she might send out either TurN or Reality because the map is terribly imbalanced in Terran's favor in TvZ. Look at its stats and stats of Empire of the Sun (not the new one) and Woongjin probably can't take the risk of sending either free or Light into Stork in such an important game for them.

it was EotS , both jangbi and stork havent won against zero in forever. TUrn probably was the correct choice
Its noones shame to lose to Zero, but Turn choked hard. He can play really great, but reality woulda probally been the more reliable choice since he atleast had experience not to choke vs Jaedong in the MSL

Relax, the new Stork went 2-0 in games defending cheeses. That does not necessarily imply he would take a player of Zeros calibre down ezpz.
On July 12 2011 21:27 SkyLegenD wrote: Can someone tell me why Khan's coach sent TURN out of ALL THE PLAYERS
Well, KHAN's P got beaten pretty badly the whole series by ZerO/Soulkey. Given recent play I would have sent Reality (or just sent Stork anyway and relied on his ace-ness), but I can see where if you have TurN practicing just for the one game it could seem reasonable.
On July 12 2011 21:29 kuroshiroi wrote: Should have sent Reality. He's much more stable and would've cheesed the hell out of Zero. Standard play doesn't cut it against Zero or JD.
that wasn't really standard
turn initially thought about a stim rush but after seeing alot of lings, went for a fast timing attack which is pretty all-in
I mean something super cheesy like BBS. Zero's weakness is the early game. Let him get uncontested to 2-3 bases and he'll probably win.
Reality would've been a better choice against Light or Really too. But, oh well.
On July 12 2011 21:30 Xiphos wrote: NO, should send in Stork!!!! Even if Stork didn't practice on that map, Stork would still have played better than TurN!
umm... Stork.....in a PvZ........during a super acematch and in a Zerg favored map?
Anyway khan cannot win the whole thing, will be out sooner or later. Being in playoffs to play 3 series is good enough. Fuck khan lineup is always weak. You know u are in trouble in bw if your strongest players are protoss.

1- Stork's PvZ sucks 2- Jangbi's PvZ doesn't suck as hard as Stork's, but still he can't take ZerO's ZvP on. He pretty much showed that at the first set. 3- Map has a terribly imbalanced TvZ. Both old version and new one. 4- Considering the fact that map isn't that imbalanced TvP, it's probably because bio works so good, bio means aggression, which plays for TurN's style. 5- Woongjin couldn't take the risk of sending Light or free because neither have dependable vPs, and January knows that better than I do.

Of course it wouldn't be ezpz, I'm a big Zero fan too, he's great. But Turn choked and choked hard, at the end of the day. And that counts at least as much as any map imba.

Jangbi would be pretty bad to send out, especially after he lost to ZerO once in Aztec. Stork? Well, his PvZ actually sucks. He won against Woon and ZerG, but playing a PvZ against ZerO is worse than playing 1v2 against Woon and ZerG with P (neither are off racing).

PvZ is easily Storks worst matchup, he doesn't suck, but it's just profoundly mediocre. And while Jangbi has been hot as hell lately, well game one and Eots is no Aztec.

Stork is the #3 Protoss at PvZ according to ELO. Yes, he had a bad spell for a bit there, if you want to argue recent performance, but that was pre-glasses.

Protoss lost only one game on that map though. Alternative: ZvP: 17-22 (43.6%) or 13-19 (40.6%) minus Dream League stats.

Yep agreed there but even without the choking Zero wasn't in bad position, he delayed hive to beat the push with lair tech and with that many lurkers he would've smashed that army even if it was properly positioned, just with more losses. There was just not enough infantry because he teched after only 2raxes and imho Zero was reacting properly.

Stars was just a very unfortunate match-up for Khan. When your best players are Stork and Jangbi, and the opponent has Soulkey and Zer0, it is just an uphill battle when it comes to ACE-matches. That Jangbi managed to run into those two three games in a row was really unfortunate, although he should have taken at least one game to show that his recent resurgance is more than just a lucky run.
Dubious choice to field a player who didn't play for almost a month for an Ace game of this magnitude. But then she wouldn't be January if she didn't do this.
Even though Great is slumping he would be the best choice to take on Zero. Its sad really that Khan has absolutely no zerg sniper. Every other team has atleast a zvz or tvz specialist if they don't have a general S-class player.

So disappointed at the results. UGH -_- well played Stars, I'm rooting for you now because I don't really like the other teams and you guys have Light/Really, two great Terrans.

Not to mention TurN isn't known for clutch plays, even sending Stork, JangBi, or even Reality would have been better due to his match plays against JD. Grapes PvZ isn't bad either.

I find it funny that you say sending out a rookie (TurN) is not the right call but you suggest Reality instead..
1. NEotS is T>>Z>>P~T. Since Woongjin would have sent either Zero, Soulkey or Light, going with a toss player is not the greatest call. 2. Stork's vZ is not good these days, and Jangbi already went 0-3 against woongjin zergs during this series, which in addition to point 1 makes Stork/Jangbi even less desirable. 3. Khan doesn't have a good vZ sniper atm (w/ great slumping). 4. Given the map, and the likelyhood of facing a zerg, going with a terran player is the way to go. Lets look at Khan terrans: Reality and Turn (Sharp isn't really worth discussing). Neither is great vZ/vT but both have potential. TurN imo is more reliable vs Zerg (and is slightly ahead in vZ ELO).
Neither is favored against Zero or Soulkey, but with the map its certainly doable. In fact, if you watched the game TurN was in a good position to win it as of the moment he moved out, but handled his push poorly and left his nat open.
I wonder why it is you think that Reality would have fared so much better than TurN.. I can see it now, Reality goes out and loses, and out come the cries of "why Reality for ace? January why?!". People love to rag on January, and in their defense they're often right with her dubious calls. This time though she didn't actually do anything wrong.

Yeah, and Free teamkilled Zero out of OSL, lol. He needs to travel to India with Guemchi to get their mojo back, since WJN's toss line is the new WJN terran line.
I am so impressed with how the big 3 performed for Stars in this series 4-0 zero 3-0 SK and 2-1 light is just insane performance especially given the pressure is on. I don't see how KT even has a chance given how bad the KT coach is at picking players for maps.

"Even Reality would have been better due to his match plays against JD" did you not read the "even"? Reality is better then TurN, even the rookie award ranking says so. TurN was on a roll in the beginning but died out. If you watched reality's games against JD you can see that reality would probably have been a much better choice then TurN in that type of situation and against a Zerg. Also since it's ace match shouldn't you send out your "ace" player? Why else would they be called ace if they don't play and perform well in aces matchs. Storks PvZ isn't his best, but in crunch time he goes into super saiyan mode especially when he's playing against JD. JangBi's PvZ is good, just because he lost to 3 star zerg doesn't mean that he will definately lose the next one. Not to mention the games he was actually in a very good position but just 1 or 2 mistakes cost him the games.

You guys picked it. Jangbi was in killer form coming into the finals but ended up going 0-3. Zero simply killed everybody - although I agree if Turn had microed his army properly Zero would've been in trouble. Base-trading with a Terran = bad for Zerg right?
ok I'd just like to remind everyone that january actually has access to the practice games data and knows her player a LOT better then we all do and thus if she sent turn instead of reality there's a good reason
Januray has been khan's coach for YEARS, a bad coach can't hold on for so long so I'd like people to stop treating her as such.

A) He sucked in in-house games for quite a while and Juni has been doing better B) he has personal problems that won't let him focus on his play
again January has access to in-house data and thus she is in a much better position then we all are to decide if sending Juni over great is a good idea.
you guys can be mad at the players for losing the series but ffs stop blaming january for everything (who managed to abuse the holes in star's line-up to push this series to a deciding ace match even though star's line-up is far stronger on paper. she also managed to bloom many new rookies for khan such as Turn, reality, sharp, Brave and Grape. Januray deserves respect for her great coaching this season.)

KHAN's got to be heavy favorites going into next year though, if maybe not quite even with the machine that is CJ (I mean, seriously, Hydra/EffOrt/Leta/Horang2/Movie for next year is ridiculous) or the Empire that is T1.
Assume Stork and Jangbi are even decent. But the core of KHAN's rotation - Grape, Reality, TurN - were rookies this year and ought to show improvement next year. In addition, you can be hopeful that Sharp and Brave improve a lot as well. Of course, somewhere in there, KHAN needs to find a reliable Zerg, whether they see good things from Byul, or get great back in shape, or something.
KHAN fans should be looking forward to the next season. A little less than a year ago when the new Bo7 format for SPL was announced, Stork seemed like the only decent player on the team and most people (such as myself) predicted KHAN to be competing with OZ for the spot just above ACE. The team's rookies proved those predictions utterly wrong. The only question mark now is how the joker Stork will continue to perform...
I've got to say I'm not surprised at how the series turned out. I wonder what would have happened had KHAN thrown the game against ACE and faced KT instead.

Given how good Action and Hoejja have recently been, im sure they too couldve wreaked havoc on Khan like Soulkey and ZerO did.

I think we would have handled KHAN wuite easily, we are really strong against their P line-up with our zergs and stats has a winning record against both janbi and stork. I'm not saying it would be an easy win but it wouldnt be as tense as KT vs STX day 3.
What's up with Great though? Was he attending any of these playoff games (and was he missing earlier too)? Since even if he was playing really badly in training now, having him sit there as potential opponent for Stars to worry about would still help.
So I'd guess he has some personal issues to distract him, but does anyone have any facts about his situation?

are we comparing ACTION(10-15 in the last 4 months, 2-5 in the last 2 months) and HOEJJA to soulkey and zero?

can I have some of your stuff man?
To be fair, Hoejja is KT's 2nd best player at the moment. That said you are right that Zero and SK are above KT's zerg

The question was how would Khan have done against KT, and I think that HoeJJa and Action (HoeJJa especially) are pretty solid against protoss players. Though clearly not at the same level as Zero and SK overall, they would have been ok vs Jangbi and Stork.
OMFG Does anyone know if Turn would let me adopt him? Siiiiiick build in game3! The recommendation is WAY off. "If you have time" my ass. Try pimpest play 2011. He just walked over the natural and main of guemchi! Proxy factories, mass tank/goliaths. Complete domination.
