Basically you want the quickest execution, and it needs to become habitual. But however you do it you should probably use your ring finger more than you are. It's cute to say "index/pinky for all combos" but in a game your hand isn't sittting naturally in a comfortable position to do that. If you're just trying to do 1a2a3a4a5a6a really fast outside of the game, then I guess that's fine but it has no application.  I use middle finger for 1 then index for a, then switch over to middle for 2 and ring for a, and I continue using middle for number and ring for a until I need to stretch out to index for numbers, and then pinky for a. It feels natural to me and flows progressively, so when I'm jumping between that and other hand positions during the game, it's smooth and I don't have to think about it. Do what feels comfortable, but index and pinky isn't the best way for anyone I'd imagine. Just thinking about using your pinky to hit a when you're index is on 2 or 3 makes me laugh. | ||

3a4a5a6a7a = index + ring 8a9a0a = thumb + pinky (i never do this in game) i mostly use ring on 'a' cuz '1a' is really awkward for me with pinky on a. | ||

Actually thats comfortable. Its just the 1a thats weird and awkward pinky is wear. And the switching from 1a using index+middle than using pinky is even more weird. Does anyone know the thread that leg made? | ||

I think leg wrote that he uses uses index and ring most of the time. I suppose thats how ild reccomend it usually too. The reach and feel of ring rather then middle is much better and is very convienient till 7 or so. This keeps your hand centered and your palm right over ctrl. 1) Ring hits: 1 & a 2) middle hits 2, ring hits a 3) index hits 3, ring hits a 4) for 4-6 depending on your hands/keyboard you can use index/ring or switch over or switch over to pinkey. 5) then index for keys and pinkey for a. 6)For 9-0 ild use thumb+pinkey, but some may be able to reach with index. Or may just want to move hand back and forth a bit. | ||

I use pinkie for all a's ring for 1 middle for 2 index for 3-0 .shrug. I am a pianist, pinkie is fine for me. | ||

I swear, going 0a9a8a7a6a5a might be a lot easier than you think--you use thumb or index finger on the number and then pinky on the a. You don't really have to switch your hand position much at all. And you're getting the option of using patrol instead if you feel like it (index on P, middle/ring/pinky on the numbers, which also feels natural). So come switch to the dark side!...of hotkeys. | ||
