Today the SGL had the exclusive pleasure of sitting down with All 4 ONE Gaming Leader / Manager ONERuMCaKe and asked him a few questions. He is the manager of one of the fastest rising teams in North America in terms of skill and popularity (…or infamy). Some of his responses may surprise you…

SGL:
Do you mind introducing yourself and give us some information about your real life and gaming background.
ONERuMCaKe:
Hello, my name is Scott. In SC2 I go by ONERuMCaKe, and I am 24 years old. Here is a little about my real life, I got married last October to an amazing woman. I have been fighting professionally in MMA now for about 6 years and also work at a casino. I started gaming when I was young on the Nintendo with my parents and friends. My first RTS I was apart of was Warcaft 3, which I helped manage a team called MsY. I currently run All 4 ONE Gaming (ONE) in SC2.
SGL:
I know when I first heard MMA fighter playing SC2, I found it quite surprising. How do others around you react to your large involvement in computer games, something the average person may see as ‘nerdy’.
ONERuMCaKe:
Lol, I think that it’s all about where someone meets me. At a fight or at the gym I am not the nicest guy around so I think it catches people off guard. If someone met me at a lan, on starcraft, or just chillin there’s no secret I am passionate about gaming and esports. Some of my training partners and trainers poke fun at the fact I am a nerd sometimes. For the most part I think people respect the fact that I am passionate about it. My wife on the other hand is the one that makes fun of me the most for it. Every once in a while if she’s sitting behind me watching tv while we’re in the middle of a clan war she'll yell "go All 4 ONE Gaming" as a joke and laugh.
SGL:
Do you think your fighting background has given you any advantages to playing SC2 or running a professional level SC2 team?
ONERuMCaKe:
There are a few big advantages I think fighting has given me in gaming and in life as a whole. For
starters, I've been in the spot light in hard situations in front of large crowds before, so I don't get
nervous as easily as some people might. As far as running ONE goes I have experience with contracts, and how a professional organization works. I also know how much hard work pays off, which is something I make sure is a trait all of my players have before they are a part of the team. It’s a must for success in anything in life.

SGL:
How did All 4 ONE come about, they seem to have become a frontrunner in the North American scene almost overnight.
ONERuMCaKe:
About two weeks after I bought SC2 I went to a lan in Fullerton, CA. I was able to meet some cool people and pick up my first player at the lan. People asked a lot of questions about my wc3 background and fighting there. AoNe, the first player to become apart of All 4 ONE Gaming ended up finishing 3rd and loosing to qxc 2-1 in the winners bracket finals. It was really exciting and I got rocked in my matches. I did however meet a few other people that day that would become apart of ONE in the very near future. ONEperp, ONEAscension, and InflowLinko were there as well that day and are now apart of ONE. The 2nd lan I went to for SC2 was in the same place, and we were able to pick up the eventual winner ppgBubbles. From then on I slowly was able to accumulate a person at a time, NamhciR was friends with AoNe and knew me from wc3, ONEGatored was also friends with AoNe. I also met ONEAscension at the lan. So the most of my recruiting was done at actual lan events. We were however able to pick up a few great players after some success in leagues, like ONEKyhol and new addition VTZerker.
SGL:
What is your team’s record over the past few weeks and what do you attribute your success to?
ONERuMCaKe:
Currently, we are undefeated. We have had some very close clan wars that could have gone either way with some of the best teams around. I know that all my players work hard and are confident in their abilities, which is all anyone needs to have to accomplish something. Also, we have been fortunate so far to end up with the match ups we are hoping for when making our line ups.
SGL:
Recently one of your players, CrunCher, won the TeamLiquid (TSL3) Qualifier under the ONE tag, and was released a few days afterwards. Do you mind explaining the circumstances of CrunCher’s departure.
ONERuMCaKe:
CrunCher at the time was playing for All 4 ONE Gaming and practicing with our players hard on a daily basis. CrunCher's departure was what was best for him and ONE. Both ONE and CrunCher have different attitudes on things and his new team was able to offer him more of what he was looking for right at the moment as they are a majorly established organization. We do wish him good luck with his new endeavors.
SGL:
A lot of fans might not know this but SonKie, a huge name in the WC3 scene, has joined your team. How would you say his transition from WC3 to SC2 is going, and should we expect to see him in matches soon?
ONERuMCaKe:
Sonkie is a great RTS player in general. WC3 and SC2 are really different games, but he has been
adapting well and learning the variation of mechanics. He will be a part of clan wars really soon, even as soon as this weekend. He has been practicing hard as well with the rest of the team, so anything is possible for him in SC2.
SGL:
Your team has gotten some hate over the course of its rise when facing and defeating the more established North American teams such as ROOT and EG. What would you like to say to the fans about your team and why they should be in the same category as the other 2 teams?
ONERuMCaKe:
I think the majority of the reason we have gotten some negative publicity is because we’re a new team. When your a new team coming into the scene playing teams that have established themselves as front runners, you have to expect to be the under dog and people to say things if you do manage to win. As far as what I have to say to the fans, they can put our team in any regard that they feel we belong in. We have had some opportunities to begin to prove ourselves so far and we look forward to the many more opportunities we have to continue to prove ourselves to the SC2 community we respect so highly.
SGL:
Do you mind explaining for the people who did not see the thread on TL over the clanwar with EG, what happened?
ONERuMCaKe:
LOL, that thread was funny. The first time around we played EG we managed to win 4-3. The second time around we played them the same week in SGL. EG had not added IdrA to their rosters until the day of the match so he was ineligible to play. iNcontrol asked on TL rather then messaging me if we would allow IdrA to play anyways. However, as IdrA is known for his BM, he had been running his mouth to my players on ladder the few days before this clan war was going to happen. I felt that we didn't owe Idra any favors, so I elected not to allow him to play. We have a ton of respect for EG, their manager Colbi was a great guy to handle a match with, and players like Axslav are some of the coolest guys in the community.
SGL:
Any matches or events, that you and team ONE are looking forward to in the upcoming days?
ONERuMCaKe:
We are actually holding our first lan on March 27th! It will be in Fullerton, California, everyone in So Cal should come! As far as matches go, every week in the leagues were in is so tough and exciting that we look forward to everyone of them. So many great teams out there to have the opportunity to compete against its really an honor.
SGL:
Now that your team has been picking up steam, do you have any plans for future expansion or training which may help your players and team get to the next level?
ONERuMCaKe:
We are definitely going to be sending players to MLG this year and are looking forward to that. The
ultimate goal we have at the moment is to have our players continue to improve and send a few to
Korea early next year, possibly late this year. So they can have a chance to play on the Korea ladder and at getting into the big show. Ultimately, if the guys keep working as hard as they are they can accomplish any goal they have one day.
SGL:
Some readers may be wondering how many keyboards and mice a MMA fighter has gone through while playing computer games. We all know sometimes these games can bring out the worst in us.
ONERuMCaKe:
I haven't broken many keyboards or mice, the most random thing I broke though was my old desk. The first week I got into SC2 I got 6 pooled and cannoned like 15 times in one day and as I was even worse then I am now I lost a lot, and got a little upset and hit the desk.
SGL:
Well I hope our readers have gained a better understanding of this mysterious team and its leader. This marks the end of our interview, thank you for your time Scott. Do you have any final shout-outs?
ONERuMCaKe:
Definitely have to give a shout out to ONESephrial for helping me make All 4 ONE Gaming happen!
All of our players, ppgBubbles, ONEPerp, ONEGatored, ONEKyhol, ONESmatin, VTZerker, ONEsonkie, NamhciR, InflowLinko, ONEMedzo and ONEAscension. Gotta give one to my good buddies EGAxslav and VTMirhi as well! Thanks to the community for making SC2 so great, without you guys it would be nothing!
