Hi everyone,
I would like to start the Concordia Starcraft Community. I have spoken with CSU and I will have the paperwork finalized by this Friday, October 8th. They'll look at the approval by month end.
Basically, my goal for the club is the following;
Weekly hang outs where all Con U students and Alumni can meet up, talk starcraft do analysis and if given the resources, play matches.
As well, if this club materializes and has a strong following, I would love to take it to the next level and arrange a team tournament vs other universities as well. McGill has a starcraft team, and I'm sure others do as well. Concordia shouldn't be left in the dark!
Right now, all those Con U future students, current students, alumni who would be interested post here! Right now, I don't know how much wiggle room I'll have with the actual club name, but throw me your suggestions by Thursday night and hopefully we can come to some sort of agreement.

I go AFK for a few days, and other people get the club started for me. Awesome. :D
I'm up for helping out a crapload - I've only got three courses at the moment, so I have a lot of free time. I also know of a few people who love starcraft (2) but who don't have accounts on TL. I'll tell them the good news.
The club name should be something simple and straight to the point. Concordia Starcraft Club/League/*Insert Personal Preference Here*.

Great to see this getting going  I'm totally commited and ready. I suggest the name to be something straight to the point. Also something friendly. We don't want to exclude anyone.

I was just thinking of "Concordia Starcraft Community" like the other thread's title.
I really don't like the word 'club' because I find the undermines what SC2 is all about. I mean look @ TL, this isn't a club, it's a community!
If we need a team name, what about "Heat Stinger Missles"

I think that it would be cool to keep it as simple as possible that way everyone feels welcome. If we later decide that a group of us want to put together a team then we can. Might want to keep that seperate from the actual group we will hopefully set up as not everyone may want to be part/play competitvely? Just thinking out loud.

I think the team part is just a joke and nothing serious or with substance.
I think we'll start with just SC2 and then maybe expand to generally competitive gaming, etc. One step at a time guys :B

il be happy to join in next semester, tho i wouldn't mind helping things out now if need be. But i don't think i would be missing much since making a club can take a shitload of time : / my friend at vanier was trying to start a metal club the entire semester and we just now got a room and still got no budget, plus its burrowed so we only get to go there once a week
