Hi there ! (First of all excuse my english, my native language is French). I'm a UQAM student, and was looking for some starcraft 2 students community since the launch of the game (but didn't find anything ><).
Btw, funny story : I was "supposely" studying with a friend today in his association office at concordia and some guy came in (sorry I forgot your nickname :/ ) and asked us if he were at the good place for the starcraft 2 meeting. When I heard this, My first thought was "Raptor jesus definitely exist". So I joined the meeting for like half an hour and met RefuseAmen (who is actually a good speaker :D ) and the others players. Too many terrans in my opinion (I mean > 0 ) but i dealed with it.
Long story short, I'm very excited about your project, and very interested to create a similar one in UQAM if no one didn't started it yet (yeah, let's bring some french touch in the place ). I'll make another thread for that (to not pollute Concordia's one), but if you're interested, you can join me at CeleriosSCII@Gmail.com (and my bnet account is Celerios#108); See you !
|
Yo Celerios, It's me tam, (i was the one that came first ). I'll add you when I get sc2 and I hope to see you add the meetings next time .
BTW: what are we calling our club? CSC? CSCC (community)?
|
I couldn't make it due to a last minute scheduling screw-up on my behalf... -_-
Did the meeting go well? What was discussed? Is there going to be another unofficial meet-up before the club becomes official?
|
Yeah man! I was surprised on the turn out, I think at one point we had like 13 ppl!
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR COMING
Can't say it enough. I could have stayed there for another couple of hours! The meeting was a meet and greet and everyone had to a chance to talk about themselves, sc2 and what they're studying in school.
I'll be sending out an e-mail to all the people who showed up, if you're a troll and curious about this, hit me up with a pm and I'll get you on the list! 13 people!!!

I'm very happy with how it went, look forward to what is to come. I have a good feeling.

|
What race do you play?
"I play 4gate"
:D

SO many good times and quotes are going to come from these group meetings. Going to be some epic times I'm sure. I also have to agree...semester is shaping up nicely...cept for midterms!! RAGE least I'm done friday .

This meeting was, simply put, fucking awesome. It was great meeting everyone, and I hope to see you all online very soon.
You Protoss Diamonds, I need some tutoring, so expect me to be annoying.
This club IS GOING TO GET ON IT'S WAY. It can't NOT be successful. I can't wait for the eventual day when we all have a room to go to and kick some ass.

Yeah, I feel you man, it's a hardcore semester. Anytime you have time, it'd be cool to meet ya!
|
exams, tours/lans and having to practice to stay in shape =/.. so stressful
|
Well, wouldn't it be nice to practice at school?
That's what I'm trying to implement!
|
Hello, I got a message from someone on the board, but I was mid game and accidently discarded the thread. To whoever msged me, sorry for not replying!
I missed the meeting yesterday, hope it went well.

The club is called: CSC [Concordia Starcraft Community, The]! Also, I am bilingual in both French and English, so don't be shy to talk to me in your [French] native language if you're more comfortable with it [as long as its not klingon or you don't refer to me as your zergling]. _________________________
Thanks for coming guys! That was a really incredible experience and exciting too! It was great to meet all of you [and feel some closure for playing Zerg D:, just kidding, I'm really not that tormented by Zerg/Terran differentials, but it's an easy joke-target/tease]. Matt and I [and very likely all of you] can feel that not only will this community/club prosper into something as big as Starcraft 2 is in itself, but into something we can all benefit from with great pleasure and enjoyment.
I forgot to mention that you may call me Torte de Lini, Torte, Michael, Cohen, Mike and/or Pound Cake (an old name of mine from another game/community).
At the moment, I don't have my own computer and my elbows are deep in educational shit [does anyone know where and how to find scholarly articles? I have a report on Nov. 17th and unlike my CEGEP Vanier, there is no online database I can access at home (right?) on Concorida]. But I will get a PC within the week or the next one.
I enjoy all game types: FFA, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. So if you see my in-game, don't be afraid to invite me, whatever your rank or division!
Thanks again for coming guys and to all those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you the next time :3
As a final word: S0JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Cheers and it was a honor to meet you all [though I missed my Zerg Anonymous group-meet, QQ]

So I'm not the only who is feeling the crapstorm of work. You should be able to access online databases from home. You have to do something via clues though to get it to work. I belive you have to go to the concordia lib website and make a pin? or something. Then when you head to moodle (or wherever you want to go to access your database..I've had teachers link me to databases in moodle only reason I use it. generally it's still done through the lib) it should prompt you for your netname and password AS well as the pin you created. Once you type that all in it should allow you access to the database....I think this is how it works...correct me if I am wrong anyone. Hope this helps.
