Thought those were Haikus, But McGill must not teach them. What a crying shame. Anyways: I WILL be there. No matter what. Seriously. By the way, if we ever do have LANs, how exactly do you guys lug all your hardware to the place? I'm getting a PC with a 23-inch monitor, how the hell would I bring it all to Concordia? Actually, ironically enough, I know a girl who just bought Starcraft 2 out of pure interest. Because it looked fun. I'm still in shock. She's never played an RTS game before, and I'm not sure she'll understand the mechanics by the time the first meeting comes around, but I'm sure she would catch on soon enough if some Concordian gentlemen gave her a hand. LANs...yeaaah. We could use our club budget to rent out some internet cafés and play there. If we get a budget this year, that is. Otherwise, we can have some fake LANs with skype and battlenet.
The battle.net24 internet cafe near the university is horrible. Truly a mess of a place.
We can rent a room, but the equipment needs to be rented as well: routers and cables, tables and chairs.
Shrug, I'm no expert in that department.

Ah. I've never organized a LAN myself, so I didn't know how much of a hassle it could be. That sucks. We'll have to brainstorm at the next meeting, then!

Using skype and doing a fake LAN would probably work out the best. But is anyone up for trying the next funday monday on Day9? Let me know :D

Legendan, if you could do me a favor. Spread the word. I'm sure he'll be more than glad to know he's not alone when it comes to playing SC2! Let him know about the meeting October 19th @ 5pm.
UPDATE: Right now, going through 2 threads and the several PM's... we currently have 19 potential /interested members I don't want to jump the gun, but that's only after a couple of days of just posting on these two threads on TL.
At this rate, who knows what we can accomplish!!
|
I'd spread the word but most of the people I've met so far at Concordia are girls that well...They don't have much interest in SC2..if I see some potential people I'll totally smack them in the face and tell them to join us.
|
Found another candidate. He isn't on TL, but I'll make sure he knows. I posted about it on twitter and I have some 160 followers.
EDIT: 2 interested!!!
|
RefusedAmen: send me a PM or something once we've got confirmation on where the meeting is going to be. I'll make some posters and put them around the downtown campus. Hopefully some other Starcraft players will see them and show up.
|
It's great to see more players from montreal.
If you guys are up for it, we could organize an ETS vs Concordia match
|
One step at a time.
Step 1: Proposal and awaiting acceptance Step 2: Establish the foundation, location, time and schedule for this Community And then from there, let's see where this goes~
|
Update:
10/08/2010 Torte de Lini and I dropped off the proposal today! Should hear in the next several weeks
Wish us luck

That secretary had nice eyes :3
P.S: Check your e-mails, I can order it Tuesday or so if you can somehow achieve what we talked about outside Reuben's~
I also wanted to know through what form of digital communication are you guys most comfortable with? While we can use this topic or another as sort of the "HUB" for all things related to this community, events, etc, I don't think it'd be very organized or easy to grasp.
There's also Steam that is fairly easy and understandable, but it requires installing the steam program.
We can use Facebook as well [I don't personally use it], but I have no idea how it works [but I'm sure you guys do, etc.].
Anyways, just wanted to get some ideas from you all :3
|
Use email. Probably the easiest.
|
I was actually at Ruebens tonight, which secretary you talking about? o.O
|
Facebook & and email are def. the best options for me.

I meant the CSU Secretary. I don't want to guess her ethnic group, I'm usually wrong and I hate it when people guess mine and are wrong.
We were at Reuben's last night, but since you've been there, I guess you know that nearly all the waitresses there are pretty damn cute and nice, pretty scary lol. Been going there for like 3-4 years and it's always been like that.

I would love to join the ETS Starcraft 2 team. Where should I go? Local du LanETS?

I'm not sure. We're not affiliated with ETS
|
I know but someone mentioned it and there is no thread about it... Maybe he will check this thread back.
|
Didn't ETS host a Lan SC2 earlier this year [September]?
|
