You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.
Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence. |

I hate to point the obvious, but somebody who has silver/gold level mechanics can't get into GM even with a maphack...
you'd be surprised

there is no way to get to GM as silver/gold with maphack, 100% not doable
maybe with some other hacks that auto micro or builds for you

haha I enjoyed this post. Thank you. Honestly though, there's no way a silver/gold player could make it into GM even with a maphack. Even simple strategies like 2 gate and cannon rushing require nuances like doubling probes on the mineral line to maximize income, as well as enough very solid micro

The thing is the hack includes automatic worker making. So all they need to do is make units. Their only job is to make units and react properly. If they learn when to build a twilight and when to chrono they only 40 apm. A 2 base all in is easy enough as it is but with a hack it makes it stupid simple. Dont mess up the food timing on the Twilight and the attack upgrades and you get a free madly good blink stalker.
While silver/gold is a stretch, any plat player or diamond player could easily make things at the right time if they dont need to worry about worker production to be honest.

I saw that on EU GM ladder the other day : http://i.imgur.com/Xk3I0.jpg I am absolutely not saying he's a maphacker. I haven't play the guy nor did i watch any replay from him. It can be a traded or shared account or it can be someone that really improved since the release (getting promoted every season) but it's still weird This guy must be really proud of himself, and he should really be if this is legit.

When I pointed out his poor mechanics to him after the game, he said "I was eating" (see below - classic far-fetched excuse used by a hacker who's been caught). I went through his match history and told everyone to report him. Unfortunately all his 1v1 ladder games are from a week ago and none of the people I PMed still had their replay. Hopefully some high level players will see this thread and post their replay if they play him. In the replay you will notice he clearly is waiting for the attacking that comes at ~9:30, and also is waiting for the drop that comes at ~16:50. http://www.sctemple.com/replay/260581/The funny part is that I curb stomped him and his team 1v3 after both my teammates left. It's at least heartening to know that most of these hackers are so fundamentally bad at the game that they can easily be caught. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/bu9Co.jpg) ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Sjl5R.jpg)
I cannot base my replay analysis on team games. It is suspect to jump from silver/gold to GM, but it could very well be account leveling, which is not the discussion in here. Let's not accuse people without according evidence please

vs isuruscham, pretty suspicious of his blind countering my spire without scouting it, his 9 pool into making no lings, etc.
not completely sure but its definitely suspect.

maybe with some other hacks that auto micro or builds for you id agree with silver/gold but diamonds could easily do it. cheese/anti cheese is all about scouting and with maphax or mini-map, i wouldn't be surprised with diamonds getting into gm. proxy raxs/ gateways are so hard to stop if they know where you are on 4 player maps.

You can't get into GM with maphacks as silver or gold. I tested some maphacks on LAN SC1 games like 13y ago and it made me play worse, trying to not be obvious, being too confident etc. I was getting slowed more than helped with it. Maybe up to diamond/masters but if you play someone that can actually macro you're still gonna get owned - had some pretty decent players at my HS. Needless to say our friend had a good laugh at our expense when we told him we got our asses handed to us with hacks.
Highest I ever got in SC2 was plat and I think I played SC1 a lot better, I seem unable to remember a build nowadays past 15 supply, prefer to just wing it and have fun.

At least the drophacks are gone...
RIP pillage

I'd imagine to not get caught maphacking you would just have the production tab and mini map hacks on... I mean seriously? Is there anything else you really need to know to win the game besides tech path and enemy army position?

I highly doubt it was a drop hack if those were still around they would be the most easily obvious things out there. Sometimes it really is just BNET being stupid.

Perfect cannon rushes and 6pools every game are dangerous enough to get you pretty far.
