You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.

Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence.

I'm playing mid masters EU and I don't play any maphackers, don't know what all your problems are, but I'm doing just fine over here.
I'm sure they exist, I might have even played one or two without realize, but it doesn't affect me whatsoever.
I'm all for exposing maphackers, but for the love of god you guys are just seeing ghosts.

Just play the damn game, if someone is super obvious report him and get on with your life.
I understand this must suck at the highest level but even there maphackers are very rare.

we will be fine dont worry. sorry but this is an useful thread, it already did get a few results, and the reason u dont play more hackers is because they have higher rating than you, and theyre not that rare

Found another GM hacker on the NA server. IMMvp, currently rank 186. Unfortunately all I have is a team game replay, and since there's no obvious fog of war peeking, this wouldn't be considered proof since it could be his teammates that are doing the hacking. However he clearly has very poor mechanics, yet is in GM, which alone is highly suspicious. His account was previously in silver and gold but was high master last season and GM this season. When I pointed out his poor mechanics to him after the game, he said "I was eating" (see below - classic far-fetched excuse used by a hacker who's been caught). I went through his match history and told everyone to report him. Unfortunately all his 1v1 ladder games are from a week ago and none of the people I PMed still had their replay. Hopefully some high level players will see this thread and post their replay if they play him.

In the replay you will notice he clearly is waiting for the attacking that comes at ~9:30, and also is waiting for the drop that comes at ~16:50.

http://www.sctemple.com/replay/260581/

The funny part is that I curb stomped him and his team 1v3 after both my teammates left. It's at least heartening to know that most of these hackers are so fundamentally bad at the game that they can easily be caught.

Can I ask what is your actual evidence other than he played mechanically terrible in a team game. For all your know his team mate could have pinged there and he could have been eating and playing half assed (it's a team game after all). I understand that you're just trying to get rid of hackers, but you are acting like you have 100% sure fire evidence that this kid hacks when as far as I can see you don't, which is a pretty bad thing. Tarnishing the reputation of players on inconclusive evidence isn't the way to go about this.

For all I know he certainly could be hacking, but without the proof, I don't think it's fair to make such bold claims. If you get more replays, post them and hopefully it becomes more obvious either way.

One look at his apm graph in sc2gears reveals that he was attentively playing the game and couldn't have been eating. Although if you think you can maintain 100 average EAPM while eating then feel free to test it. His action timeline shows actions during almost every second that elapsed in the game.

It's at least worth it to flag his name for review of further replays because the poor mechanics combined with his account going from silver/gold to GM is highly suspicious. He has silver/gold level mechanics in the replay. Coincedence? Any GM player whose account jumped leagues dramatically between seasons and whose replays show poor mechanics is suspect.

This is not proof at all lol, he could of let one of his friends play on his account, he could of been high, drunk, he could of gotten a call during the game, had to answer the door, theres an endless list of possibilities but you cannot judge it off of 1 game, and the players mechanics of all things in a team game.... give me a break.

The fact he moved up so high in ranks is suspicious if that is true, but regardless it isn't proof.

LOL I dont know about other servers but the EU server in packed with maphackers. Yesterday I just wanted to relax with my friend doing some 2v2s. Ridiculous maphacking. I wont post rep since they are 2vs2 but anybody interested can pm me.

I've met maphacking everywhere, 2v2s, 1v1 customs, 1v1 ladder (master level)

It's no better on NA, they're everywhere. You know it's silly when you go to play some 1 v 1 customs to warm up and you have 3 out of 4 of the players blatantly maphacking.

I wonder if this is the same fake IMMvp who was mid masters with protoss 2 seasons ago. But really the evidence here is kind of sketch and insufficient to a heavy degree.

could this IMMvp guy just go this account leveled for him and just suck? Also why are you going to post something about someone hacking when you even admit to not being absolutely sure he is.

You're not even offering any evidence against this guy besides the fact that he had poor mechanics, and an apm timeline that may or may not disprove that he was "eating" as he said. Who cares whether he was eating or not? If you're going to make an accusation, get several replays with damning evidence. This stuff should be taken seriously and professionally.

The replay evidence is him moving SCVs away from an expo where a drop was incoming and then waiting with his units selected while the drop moved in. I admit I haven't provided 100% proof, but there's a series of coincedences here that are suspect.

- Clearly knew a drop was coming
- Claims his teammate pinged the map where attacks and drops were incoming (but now has changed his story slightly in this thread by saying that "it's common to defend your expansion")
- Grandmaster despite sucking at the game
- Claims he was eating to excuse suckiness but clearly was using both hands to play
- Account jumped from silver to master between seasons
- Changed his account name to Skrillex in response to exposure in hacking thread

It's reason to be on the lookout for more replays. BTW this skrillex account in this thread with 2 posts is clearly him.

The immvp I played against(same as above) 4x in a row was pretty good, very solid mechanics and 300 apm entire game, I lost all 4, don't know why but he told me to take off the replays online, seems legit, why question him? Wanna go tweet him and ask? Or someone from Korea can confirm this is him?

He proceeds to scout bottom first, then he finds you cannon rushes you. You then lift and he scouts gold to see if you landed there and when you didn't he scouted his third. If he was a maphacker he would have gone straight to the third.

I think the only thing this replay shows is you being a douche and lifting off when you lost the game.

He repeatedly puts his camera at my location before arriving there, AND shift queue's his probes on several mineral patches. I was only BM because he cannon rushed and was either hacking or got extremely lucky on a 4 player map with a lame strategy. I'm a douche? Go fuck yourself.

LOL.. you must not know the sc2 scene very well if you have not heard of cannon rusher gaulzi.
Seems like the new meta to losing is to be a bidet.

I doubt anyone with silver/ gold mechanics can ever be any good to even reach masters.
I love how everyone now thinks that if they lose their opponent is hacking to justify their own piss poor skill.
Half the postings here seems to be wild accusations than any actual evidence whatsoever.

Is there no antihack embedded into the battlenet 0.2? So memory modifications are not restricted? WTF?
You mean ESPORTS isnt a synonym for SC2? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -Proud owner of a Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Blue Switches- BW or SC2? Why not both?

I haven't actually delved into Starcraft 2's implementation of Warden, but from what I remember of Warcraft 3, Warden will only check specific areas of memory for certain modifications. These can, of course, be bypassed by hooking the Warden scanning function and resetting the code back when a scan comes around, or just throwing in some SEH breakpoints. Anti-hack software is typically more trusting than you might imagine in this regards.

That being said, you don't even need to modify memory to write a map-hack or production hack - just read the values you need from an external .exe and you're good to go. No amount of anti-cheat implementation will really solve the hacking problem: its solution requires Blizzard to only send you information on the sections of the map you can see (right now it just sends you the whole map and effectively asks you to be nice and not reveal it), but this is ripe with its own technical issues.

I hate to point the obvious, but somebody who has silver/gold level mechanics can't get into GM even with a maphack...
