I think the point he is trying to make is that this case probably doesn't deserve the attention it's been getting. Which I am inclined to agree with. Unfortunately it was so sensationalized that it's been in the spotlight for no reason other than the fact it's been sensationalized by the media.
The media extravaganza only started because if it hadn't there would of been no more investigation beyond the initial incident let alone a trial, after a teenager was killed less than a mile from where he was visiting.
The thought of going to Florida and some guy could stalk me, confront me, and kill me and claim self defense is chilling. Only if my corpse and witnesses (provided there are any) can prove the guy who stalked me despite 911 telling him not to was in fact not having his life threatened by an unarmed teenager does he risk imprisonment
Add on to that the readiness for people to say and do what they have in defense of Zimmerman, despite the fact that if he had simply done as the 911 operator had said there would be no dead kid and he would have suffered no injuries only furthers my distress.
So while your entitled to your opinion I disagree with it. For those who have been stalked and followed (edit: or know someone who has) before because they "look suspicious" the outcome of this case could not be more relevant.
This post reeks of misinformation.
1) The only people that claim there's definite proof that Zimmerman did as you claimed ("stalk, confront, and kill") are news stations who's job is to sensationalize the news in order to gain more views. Zimmerman's version of the story has held up relatively well and has even been supported by the prosecution's witnesses of all things (with the exception of RJ, but there are many issues with the credibility of her testimony).
2) You're under no obligation (legal or otherwise) to take the advice of a dispatcher.
3) Zimmerman had reason to be suspicious. His neighborhood had been hit by a string of burglaries. In light of that fact, he sees a stranger walking around during a stormy night. Your implication that Zimmerman thought Martin was suspicious because he was black is unfounded. Given the context, Martin was suspicious.
This case shouldn't have had the media attention that it did because all the media did was slander George Zimmerman and put forward an unsubstantiated story of "Racist white man profiled a black teenager and murdered him".
I just want to say that I love having primary sources (live streams). It clearly shows the lies the media portrays just for the sake of making more money by sensationalizing and distorting stories. If the media was a witness, they definitely wouldn't be creditable. It seems the only news station that didn't lie about the facts was the local news station (let me know if more were accurate). So, Thank You xDaunt and dAPhREAk for providing links to the streams!

I agree with pretty much everything else you said except for this.
The reason he was suspicious was because of racial profiling. His 911 calls were entered into evidence because Zimmerman had a habit of calling in black people as suspects to the cops.
I've heard that it's 70+ calls to 911 and they're all reporting black people.

It's not unfounded to suggest that at all.
I call it unsubstantiated in this case because the evidence (911 call log) suggests Zimmerman was unable to properly identify the race of Martin before following him due to the dark and stormy conditions.
DEAR FLORIDA POLICE: If BLACK FOLKS RIOT when ZIMMERMAN is found NOT GUILTY please SHOOT TO KILL! Thank You

I wouldn't even be mad if people shot rioters who were fucking up there homes. If people started rioting when ever they disagree with the results of a trail why would we even bother trying people in court. It's unbelievable that some people think they can threaten rioting like LA when they don't agree with a verdict.

I guess it was just 46 calls. I didn't make up my facts, I got them from the Opie & Anthony show, and they're staunch supporters of Zimmerman.

read your own link. does it say he reported only black people? and of the calls that came out during the trial, how many of them resulted in arrests of these black people?
the prosecutor cherry picked 911 calls of black people so that he can trick morons into thinking he had a habit of doing it. looks like at least one person was tricked.

I second this sentiment.
When this story broke, I was furious about it simply because I naively accepted the "full-grown white, racist vigilante kills innocent black child for no reason whatsoever!" headlines that every MSM source was running. You can reference my post in the original Trayvon thread for corroboration. I followed the story obsessively for a while, and that original impression stuck with me. It seemed like a terrible injustice.
It was only through the persistent efforts of dAPhREAk et. al. that I actually began to get a more accurate picture of the whole ordeal, and now, a few days into the trial, I'm almost entirely sympathetic to Zimmerman. It seems to me that this whole thing has been a fucking circus from day one and that it only went anywhere because news outlets just live for a nice juicy white-on-black crime story, even if the perpetrator is not really white and the incident is in all probability not really a crime.
I've heard that it's 70+ calls to 911 and they're all reporting black people.
I wouldn't consider that racist. I'm sure most of the 911 calls in Japan are about Asian people, doesn't make it racist. The area he lived in has a large black population, and I don't know if you have seen crime statistics. But if the majority of the area is made up of a certain demographic, and most of the crime is committed by that demographic, then it would make sense that most of the calls were about that demographic.
Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving Blacks and Whites, Blacks commit 85 percent

And That is the danger of Gossip. "Reporting" of such nature is nothing but sophisticated gossip!
I do understand from watching the trial that a witness did lie to the media (they admitted under oath). As the proverb goes, "A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful." Because of the lies, people may die from riots after the trial as others have stated. I still hope their won't be any...

I lived in Sanford where the "black panthers" (fucking trash) did their little fundraising and marching and protesting and shit. I had my motorcycle stolen and quite a few others in the immediate area had things done to their houses/vehicles. They were calling business owners racists for not putting in money. It's quite sad to see these people saying "justice for Trayvon" while ruining and stealing other peoples property.

Only takes 1 to start a fight. Confrontation is not a crime now is it.

Stalking the crime or just the word has a specific definition and Zimmerman was not doing it. Everyone who follows people they think are engaged in criminal activity would be stalkers in that case.

I don't want cops shooting people. They don't need guns to put down riots.
If someone has their wife in kids in their house while some trash is trying to get in the house I don't think any reasonable person would blame them.
