Tanks break hydra/lurk forces. SK breaks ling/muta/ultra/filer forces. Mixed forces are the big threat to Terran, since it's hard to prepare for everything simultaneously (part of the effectiveness of IPXZerg is that his mixed muta/lurk midgame requires mnm for the mutas and tanks for the lurks and flawless micro to not get raped ;p). | ||

if goes tech (defilers,guardians)= SK terran best strat is no go 4 barrack and 1 factory + 1 starport then decide if u add a factory or starport due to what his doing | ||

Anyway: SK terran (aka pure mm and vessels without tanks): It is highly viable strategy on maps like nostalgia, where there isn't second gas near. Generally we use this strategy against mutaling or defiler stuff. SKterran is being most countered by hydra+lurk so if you can't pull it good enough you should imidiatelly switch to fact style if you see hydra+lurk combo. If you can pull it, it's insane strategy. Look for some nada replays if you want some refference. You must be ready to control 8+ groups of units with this strategy. Fact style is essence for countering almost all strategy, including mass ultraling or mid game (lair) (especially) . You won't have many groups as in SK terran style so it's easier to micro, maybe easier to macro too. It is very good mid game style but it can be countered by defilers pretty easy For beginners I would recommend to use fact style | ||

And the hardest micro part is the need to be able to kill lurks with marines without having tanks, can be hard. To do this, I really want my grades up fast becouse that helps for me.. SK terran also require a very good macro, marines come fast and you need to train alot more.. Not THAT big diffrence but still a little more to do. Time is a resource so.. I prefer dual tank. I actually really like to add a armory and grade tanks aswell, especially if I can secure a second gas exp.. When I play SK I cant really finish him of so easy becouse It's hard to attack but often I manage to cripple him and secure 1-2 expo above my natural one.. Then I sometimes go for battlecruisers as a finish=] Maybe it's retarded but I just add 2-4 more starports and maybe even grade and scan to yamato defilers/irraditate and just attack with bc and 24m&m+ | ||
