Thank you for your consideration of the Legacy Observer for your viewing pleasure. This stream has been around for quite a while, highlighting the skills, shinanigans, strategy discussion, feedback, training and overall enjoyment of the StarCraft: Legacy staff since day 1 of the beta. While it's primarily maintained by Gifted, it also has some other shinanigans from other staff members such SaharaDrac, Crota and others. As we've recently transititioned into ustream from Livestream, the staff transition is happening slowly, so the coverage will improve with time. One of the best facets that we attempt to do is interaction with the community, answering questions, encouraging chat and banter, recognizing regulars and appreciating good manner gameplay.

  • Primary StarCraft II Platinum/Diamond level gameplay
  • Converse with staff members of StarCraft: Legacy regarding thoughts on community news, balance issues, strategy advice and industry opinions.
  • Obtain sneak peaks of potential future projects, such as our StarCraft: Legacy Cinematics.
  • In the future, a training curriculum that has been tested to take Bronze players up to Platinum skill and beyond.
  • On rare occasions, a showcase of other games, hilarious shinanigans and videos to release tension and avoid burnout.
  • When staff team games are utilized, the ability to listen to their ventrilo server and voyear upon their ancient Korean/American Secrets and Discussions

It's important to note that the streamers are in a transition period from livestream, so more will be added in time. (We originally had 7)

Streamer: Gifted
Gameplay Preference: Random (2v2)
Staff Position: Content/Strategy Staff
Typical Time: 9AM-11AM and 9PM-1AM (Central Standard Time)
Biography: A computer consultant and game industry analyst providing fun gameplay nightly in the focus on 2v2 gameplay specifically. He and his 2v2 partner, Arkh, are 1000+ Diamond level and favor playing non-standard builds and gameplay styles as they explore new openings and strategies often. Gifted also holds a solid grasp of gameplay metagame, game design methodology and balance concepts that is approached moreso on a statistical and "full picture" perception. Despite all of this, he's known to do some interesting games to say the least.

Streamer: SaharaDrac
Gameplay Preference: Terran (1v1)
Staff Position: Content/Strategy Staff
Biography: A lifelong fan of John Denver, Sir Isaac Lime Otter Pops, the cacophonic sound of dozens of SCV's drilling, and fainting when in the prescence of NaDa, SaharaDrac is currently a 1300 point Diamond League Terran, operating from a nuclear silo located in the central Nevadan desert. He is dedicated to bringing you as many awkwardly timed, self-deprecating comments on YouTube as possible, all set to the tune of Brilliant StarCraft II commentary. He also was the voice of Watto in "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace".

While we are able to provide an entertaining level of skill (Or failure, depending on the night) it's also important to know that we're providing this entertainment purely voluntary. Please remember to be polite and light-hearted as to avoid a ban, or worse, our mockery of you. Thanks!

I have watched a lot of streams since sc2 has come out. If I wanted to watch high level play from a first person view I've watched Gretorp and Kawaiirice. If I wanted to learn the basics of gameplay and even some higher level advice I watch the Day9 Daily. If I just want to see some tournaments I can watch ICCup.TV or GLHF.TV. But if I want to just sit back and have fun, I go watch the Legacy Observer.

This is not to say that they are some lowly people that know nothing about the game, or there is not often a competitive game to be had. The Legacy Observer is based more on fun than high level competition is all. If I were to compare it to any other thing, I would say it is very similar to watching Funday Monday everytime the stream is live. The casters interact with the community by answering questions and even participate in some fun back and forth with some good hearted bad mouthing. The mob (what the viewers call themselves) joke on the casters, and they joke on us back. There really is never a dull moment, and it has always been fun to be in the mob and throw the first rotten tomato.

I have watched the legacy obvs stream quite a bit recently...I find it is pretty awesome and has alot of "Shenanigans". It is generally a pretty funny place to watch sc 2 with all the funny comments and jokes that go down (especially when Gifted and the others are to busy playing to pay attention to us insulting them lol) the chat by far is one of the funniest things due to all the endless supply of jokes, sarcasum and loling at fail moments people have.

As Silencbank has stated yes it is more just for fun then high level gaming...which could happen but hey whats the fun in just that .

So if u wanna see some pretty high level gaming and or just want a good laugh come watch a few streams with us I can guarantee you will have a good time*guarantee does not extend to anyone unless you have watched over 100 streams and have not enjoyed one*

Thanks to Chill for getting this stream on the list!

Typical time for Gifted to stream is between 9:00pm CST and 1:00 am CST. I'm finding a lot of people swap over to it after the Day9 show. Thanks to those who dropped in last night We also may be able to get other staff members who were on the Blizzcon floor to answer some QA tonight between games as well.

Great stream =) gifted does a great job entertaining the audience as well as providing insightful commentaries. One the specialties of this stream lies in its extremely entertaining and popular high level 2v2 matches, And like Silencbank had mentioned great entertainment and learning opportunities

Stream is active again, for the viewers who were online tonight, what is the next game you want me to play on Shenanigans night. Suggestions VERY welcome.
