Once I behaved like a dick and an idiot to d_so, because I was in a horrible mood and it was a horrible day (which is not an excuse, obviously). When I realized about it, few minutes after, I apologized publicly and said that I had been a moron, that I was sorry, and that d_so was absolutely right. We PM'd each other three pm each, in which I explained him that I was sorry and had had really a horrible horrible morning, etc... Hours later I got banned two weeks by ETT, which didn't make any sense in my eyes since I had recognized having been an idiot publicly, which is already quite humiliating. That's counter productive and unfair, but that's how they do. To apologize publicly or to keep being an asshole is apparently exactly the same. | ||

Reason: Lowered the ban to two days, because between your first post and me banning you you wrote this one: So yeah, you still get banned, but you may get your sentence shortened. But really, it's pretty hard to get a group of mods to mod completely consistently. | ||

I even joked about them once in this same thread. And I won't start to whine now, at least about 4 of them. You portray me as a whiner. I don't think I am. I didn't post to whine, I posted because I think banning someone who has apologized is wrong. That's it. Teamliquid is the first forum where I really post consistantly and that I really like. I have flaws, and I had to learn things, which took me time. I've never been warned, I just got redirected to Disneyland. Nobody ever discussed with me that something in my posting was wrong. So I learnt my lessons with my 2 days temp bans, and I think I learnt them properly as nobody has complained of my posting for months. If you think I learnt too slowly back then, I give you a tip: one discussion would have been as efficient as four bans. If the way of helping people here is by banning them, fine, I understand, I don't even think it's a bad way, but you just need realize that for people not used to it, it takes more time to learn something by being redirected to Disneyland than by being explained by someone you can answer to that something you do is wrong. There is one ban that I am sour about, which is this morning where I had been dumped my my gf, where I posted something stupid (I didn't even read the whole sentence the guy had written, I just raged on my keyboard) because I was so fucking angry against the whole world, where I realized very quickly that I had been an asshole, that I apologized and recognized my fault publicly, and still got banned two weeks. I do think the mod are doing very well, and, contrarily to what a lot of people say, that the quality of the forum is very high. I pointed out that banning someone who has recognized he was wrong and apologized is just stupid. I still think it is. You say I trash the forum. I don't think I am a bad poster. Maybe I am wrong? I usually really put effort into what I say, I like this website, and I like people here, including ETT, you, or any people I have argued with. Now if you really feel like going for the humiliating session by posting my ban history and showing the world how much of a stupid or immature whiner I am, well, whatever. Maybe I was wrong on this post too, in which case I'm sorry about it. I still think that you are being a bit unfair on that one. | ||

Hmm, I think to suggest you were one discussion away from realizing you were being a dick quite often is a bit disingenuous. I don't think you lack the requisite self-awareness to know you were often abrasive and dismissive on here. That said, since your bans, I think you've become a x10 better poster than you were. My general impression of you used to be pretty unfavorable, and I don't think your bans were unjustified, but I've certainly noticed that you do put effort into most of your posts and you're not nearly as prone to talk down to people as you used to be. I know that what you are saying is true, I even posted on it a while ago with almost the same words. The reason why I posted today is that once, and only once, I really felt that it was unfair, for a precise reason which was that I had recognized my wrong and apologized, and back then, I also did shut my mouth, but I stayed with the impression that once the bad was done, you were cooked, whatever you did afterward. That's on this subject that I answered today. From what you say, I was wrong, and I take off what I said. Maybe should we move on, I feel pretty bad now.  | ||
