User was banned for this post and fifteen!!! previous mod actions for throwaway shitty one liners like it.
and now its really stupid to read the first page of today's SRT LR thread since the majority of his posts were there today, its like the thread itself has been nuked

that's really sad! Sinedd added so much to the BW section, made it alive. I do hope that he gets another chance and gets unbanned. Yes, I'm aware of his previous mod actions so maybe some limitation or something if he comes back then he can work it from there. BW scene can't keep losing more people

How about only being able to post in the BW forum for a while?

ya exactly. I think small limitations for members who have been around a lot then if they are good, increase it slowly. He's had 15 mod actions over the 5 years he's been here, 3/year which doesn't sound bad(from a number perspective lol). Anyways my thoughts on the subject.

Yeah I'm still confused when I see people with more than a few hundred posts who get banned for reasons like ballance whine, one linera or whatever. They should by then know how this site works. Or do they just weigh pros and cons and think two day bans are worth it.

while I don't disagree, I don't see why a one liner(in his case, he just said he disagreed(no they don't)) should be a bannable offense. It sounds really harsh when you consider he merely stated an opinion. I don't know much about his previous bans though so I can't say just how bad he was posting for those. I guess I figure that members who have been around the site for a long while should get a lot more leniency in regards to one liners and maybe he got a lot? As an example, I reported a post a while back, just a "lol" post as low content twice or more from the same user. He never got even a warning which left me dumbfounded lol.

It was mentioned in the thread and is even in big red letters in the bannned post itself. wat

yes but you missed what I meant. I meant that I don't know what he was banned for(guessing one liners from post? lol). I already know that he got 15 of them thus the 3/year in my previous post(before this one):

He went into the topic, simply contradicted the title of the topic and then left. It's pure shitposting and something that his previous mod actions had instructed him not to do. After a while a poster can't be helped.

You're assuming those 15 were spread through his 5 year tenure.
If they were all in the last two years or less, then that's a lot and a pretty clear downhill trajectory.
Besides, if you get actioned for doing something they specifically tell you what you did wrong, to ignore that is asking for trouble no matter how minor you think the offense is (it's pretty arrogant to begin with).

The line between actual shitposting and comedic/ironic shitposting is pretty thin. I don't know about most of his other reported but not actioned posts, so maybe he posted like this more often than what I could find had been banned or warned. I suppose if he posted often as terribly as the above showed then maybe he deserved it.

hmm fair enough. If his mod actions kept relating to it and he never stopped, guess it was time to ban.

thanks for finding some of the previous bans/warnings. Those are some rather bad posts I'll admit lol. Can't help but hope that one day he'll change that and be allowed back on TL. At least he still has BW to watch with SRT and such.

S***poster + hipster = "shipster." Breaks away from the majority of TL to form his own alternative form of posting, usually an ironic sort of commenting that few comprehend yet many appreciate for high-brow entertainment.
Also drinks tea-L NesTea to appear sophisticated in an ironic sense on an informal progaming forum.

hmm my guess is they had to step up moderation once the community got a lot bigger with SCII otherwise the forum would be a mess if everyone was posting like that but I see your point which is why I was talking about leniency earlier.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I think that 90% of "ironic" shitposting is... shitposting.
