Yep, was definitely looking at sometime later May cause of finals and such lovely things. Also HOLY CRAP I might finally get to meet the legendary CSheep!
Also, I must say I am quite glad that fanclubs were split from community. Alot of people said they missed this or didn't see it till quite late because of all the fanclub bumping that went on.

I don't think the plan for food ever happened (I'm only fairly sure as I left a couple times to go drive a few friends to/from) mostly kus a lot of people were from outside Denver so arrived late, plus everyone showed up a different times and had a desktop with them. DU was a pretty good location aside from some of the issues with getting though their security.
Anyone have any ideas where this one might happen? I wish I had a place to offer but I'm not sure where I could fit 20ish nerds and their computers >.<
Also Lumi and myself have been toying with trying to get a more regular lan going in Denver if anyone is interested, see This. Though lack of a decent venue/space is kind-of a big problem...

I'm in Fort Collins... my car is a piece of shit, my computer is not LAN friendly, and I work~ 50 hours a week on odd days. Basically I probably wont be able to make it, but I will be there in spirit!!

That literally seems to be the only LAN center in Denver that is still open. When I called them last time I don't think they had SC2 installed, and they were definitely not open to people bringing in their own computers or laptops.
Any chance DU would have a different place that would be usable, they seemed very open to this sort of thing last time?

Yeah they didn't want to be serious about LAN stuff - have to buy a license to get copies of sc2 for their place. Also, the guy who is usually in there running things is a douchebag that will definitely die alone. JS!

Really would be fun to have another LAN while I'm still around Denver!
We still don't have a venue, which is obviously the most important part. And since it's sc2 we'll need internet to be available as well.
This weekend being anytime from early-evening on Friday the 27th, to perhaps even an all-day Sunday the 29th event since Monday is a holiday anyway for most people.

I've messaged L_Master (Eric) to see if 6-11PM on Saturday works for him, and if so to update the OP! This should tentatively work.
JMAC (Johnson-McFarlane) hall is in a residence hall and is a fairly big conference room with tables and internet which should work fine. My ID card will not scan into JMAC past 7PM, I'll look into possibly asking my card to be altered to work (unlikely) or possibly borrowing someone's ID who lives there (also a pain since these ID cards are needed for quite a few things, but should be possible.)

Yeah of course, sorry if that was unclear. Last time we had it at DU (a few months ago) I just changed my user ID's password to something like "teamliquid!" and everyone was able to log onto the internet using my info.

I'll be there if the internet works. I can bring my own laptop as well. Anyone know how many people are going to be showing up? Do we need to bring ethernet cable(s) as well or is this all going to be wireless connections? Also, do we have a contact number for whoever is hosting this? Id love to play a few rounds to improve on my game. I'm coming from Vail, wanted to know where I should be parking, I don't really want to pay for a boot on my car either.

Last time we did this at DU some people did have problems with the internet, but it should be avoidable.
Things to note: (that I remember, Jonoman92 might be able to correct or add anything I miss)
- There is wireless internet available
- Expect limited (if any) wired connection
- DU has some security features, to be able to connect you MUST have some kind of firewall/internet security that is Up to Date (this was the main thing that kept people from being able to play last time)
- Any extra Ethernet cables, power stripes, power cords, etc are always useful to bring to Lans, it really sucks to be that guy who lugged his computer all the way only to realize you left your power cable at home.
So if you plan to come you will want to check your internet security and make sure it's up to date, there might be more info on DU's website so if you have questions I'd suggest you look there.

Be sure your computer has up-to-date antivirus protection or the DU internet will not let you get online, and you'll have to hope someone can dl the antivirus+updates to a usb and give them to you, this is annoying, so get an antivirus and update it!
If everyone could bring their own ethernet cable it would be best, and if you have some switches (things to divide up ethernet plugs into more plugs) bring em, the turn out last time was surprisingly large, around 16 I think? This I'm I don't think it'll be more than 10 but we'll see. Last time there weren't wired ethernet plugs available, however since this room is a classroom I'm pretty sure there will be, I'll drop by there tomorrow to confirm.

For parking I'm kind of a noob since I haven't ever had a car out here with me at school. The safe option would be to find a parking space on a nearby street which shouldn't be too bad since JMAC is right off of some streets where you can usually find a space.
You could also park in the general student parking right in front of JMAC and hope you don't get a ticket but that's riskier.

Guys, I've talked with Eric (L_Master) and it looks like a lot of people can't make it due to the short notice. To be honest, it's not the best time for me to try and host something since I have finals on Tuesday, but I initially thought I'd try since Aldrovandi got the room, despite not being a DU student.
I'm sorry, and I hope something comes together this summer (though I'll be gone.) I will definitely work to put something together when I'm back in the Fall or Winter. But I think having things planned out a little more is necessary for it to be as good as it can be.

Ok, since the SC2 that was to be held for March 28th, 2011 has been canceled. I would like to try and set up a new time for everyone to get together. One person who I have talked to said that they could possibly host a SC2 LAN, it would be a few weeks before it could happen. I will get with him again and keep everyone updated. Please post of what a good upcoming date/time would be that YOU could come to a LAN. Lets try and see if we can come together somewhere in between to meet up. Fill free to PM me with any questions or concerns.

Agree with this 100%, this was just wayy to last minute without even having a venue in place and almost no discussion in the last week or two.

Sorry it took me a while to get back. But had to check if the clubhouse still had wifi and we are good. Ill test the bandwidth tomorrow. I can do it the Friday 17th or sat 18th.
If there some of you who want to do it this week I can actually do it on Wednesday the 8th 6pm. Just let me know how many of you want the 8th I'll check back daily for messages. If I host this coming wednesday we can still plan on another on 17th or 18th.

Yes we should have plenty of room. There are lots of tables and chairs there I would say enough for 20 but I'm concerned on the load on the bandwidth and don't know how many people can be on it. We'll find out won't we!

Since so many will be coming.. In order to effectively unload please three nearest spots near the front door open as loading and unloading only. That means please stop in front, unload, then move car so that others not have to treck all their computer equip from blocks away. Thanks

It's a brick building with a pool attached (bring swim shorts or bikini if you are a girl if you feel inclined to take a dip). Its 15-20 Min north of Denver. Directions are:
Get off at 120th ST exit go west (left if you're coming from the south) 3 miles. Take left at Bradburn blvd(between federal and sheridan). Take left at 118th PL. Clubhouse is brick 1 story building on right, DOOR will be open.
BRING:
Headphones,
Wireless adapter,
Powerstrip and possible a few extension cords(since so many are coming we may need them),
A few dollars if you want to contribute to the food fund as we may need more food than I am providing, a few more dollars if you guys want to do a pot for a tournament. (we will keep it small but fun if we do one)
A few of you can bring 2L drinks if you want, I will have a few there.
Swimsuit and towel if you want to swim (pool is open until 9pm, PLEASE respect the residents and the neighbors who live near the pool or we WILL get kicked out if all hell breaks loose at the pool (technically we can take a dip after 9 but we have to be very quiet meaning no cannon balls!)
Password to the wireless is on the corkboard as you walk in (it is crazy and case sensitive)
Please use the name tags (needed if we have more than 10 people) to help identify TL nickname, real name, SC2 online name.
Plan B is if network won't hold everyone, I will put someone in charge at the clubhouse and we will setup another group at my house a few blocks away and use my network.
Please cooperate and have FUN!

Great fun meeting new CO SC2 people, as well as seeing familiar faces from the last meet-up. Hope we don't have to wait so long for the next one ^.^

Yeah, thanks a lot guys! I had a great time, even though RedDog and gfyCUH effing wrecked us in 2s.
If anyone wants to get together at a coffee shop or something in uptown denver to watch some GSL or some other tournament finals, let me know. I'd love to get a handful of people together to freak out about sick drops or banelings smashing Planetary Fortresses!

So awesome!!! I was just surfin the net trying to find sc2 players in Denver -- I m so sad I missed this I would of love to come. PLease please let me know if this will ever happens again I d love to meet up with other sc players around denver and ladder/practice together, think it could be a lot of fun.
