Herro TL!
So I do believe it'll be time for another TL LAN dealieo in the near future in the VA/DC area. The question is WHAT do people want and WHEN. sc2 beta fun? a "last hurrah" bw tourney? both? Something else entirely?! (Random FFA/2v2/Race wars lan???) <- rofl
Looking right now for something in April possibly or May definitely.

What I want to use this thread for is to get some planning/discussion going.
Before we start talking though I'll share with you all what we have and what I know....
SC2 Beta
I know of at least 4 keys in the area that shouldn't be too incredibly difficult to get a hold of (StorrZerg has 2 keys, Haemonculus has a key and thanks to her I have a key now as well) that could make in house 2v2's happen if people like this idea. SC2 beta is fun and we've already had a sc2 beta lan as part of our last event and it was great success and much fun. Right after that LAN people told me they wanted another. :D
Logistics with this would take a bit of planning. Would have to be a date that Storr+Haemonculus+Me works well and it would either have to happen at someones house or a reserved room. I can reserve a nice room at my school pretty easily on almost any weekend but network issues might be tricky and this would take more work in setting up stuff. I would probably recommend just going the house route. But then the question is raised, "Where?" Someday I'll have a house that'll be capable of hosting epic LAN's, but that day is definitely not today rofl. (anything more than like 4 people is gg no re for my place)
People last time were very eager to get their hands on sc2 beta (it was literally like 3 days after beta came out) and it was awesome. 
If people are highly interested in this we can figure out a physical place later. 
Last Hurrah BW tournament
SC2 is coming and BW is seemingly being phased out... But until SC2 actually launches BW is still king.
I have at least 2 people so far who are willing to put up some cash so far ($200 total possibly more) to host a sc;bw tournament LAN in the near future in the NoVA/DC area. I'm back in contact with Netolic LAN center (across the street from Seoul PC, a common gathering place for past TL events) they have undergone a recent change in management which made them hard to work with in the past. They are a classier (cleaner more comfortable smoking free) LAN center and could be a very nice location for a legit tournament event. Again with this logistics and planning would be important. Especially figuring out a good date that would be best for the most amount of people and I would have to contact netolic to figure out group rates and how many PC's they have and how many we could reserve for a specific time. (Apparently they have less PC's now, Seoul PC has a TONS of PC's but I think Netolic only has like 40 now or something)
Anything else?
anything else people might want to do that I've forgotten about? Fire away. Dinner locations and any other miscellaneous stuff can always be talked about as well.
That's about all I know and all I can say for now. So what do people want bw, sc2, other?! What general dates work best for people? Anyone traveling into the DC area on any specific dates/times in the next month and a half that I should know? Post here or PM me and the date could be considered for meetup/LAN!

Other ideas of course are OSL/MSL finals party somewhere whenever that happens again (still at least like a month+ away though)

It's on the second floor of a building across the street from Seoul. If you're going there from Seoul you basically go out markham st, take a left then a right where there's this animal hospital. Sad news guys, 3 days ago Netolic closed for good.
New management was epic fail. I can see why, they were always so hard to work with whenever I called or wanted to talk to them to work out a LAN it took me like 3+ phone calls and nobody knew shit or could answer any questions. Last November they handed management over to some other people and they just fucked stuff up. Xeris got a taste of that fockery in trying to plan a LAN back in November.
As of 3/28 they've ceased all business operations. Failll.

there's one in tysons afaik and one in woodbridge, but a charger costs like $40 or some ridiculous amount. Yea Sprint sucks.
I got lucky's number, I'll also post in the thread tomorrow as I'm leaving. I don't think it will be too late. Got early dinner (more like my lunch at 3ish) at my grandparents house near Seoul, so if it is getting late, i'll just go from there and call from there or something. IDK we'll figure it out!
My family usually hang out there as a family until 6 or 7 sometimes 8ish. at my grandparents then i'll get back and call lucky and post here.

CA literally just posted in here "who wants to go to dinner tomorrow" and I was like sure and like 4 other ppl showed interest.
anyway it looks like LAN date is gonna be set for sure on the 22nd. We'll most likely have a bw tourney into beta playing somewhere unless sc2 is out by May 22nd (unlikely?) in which case it'll be all sc2 action.
regardless of wtf we end up actually doing plan for MAY 22ND!

May 22nd it is. Seems like a bunch of people are interested regardless of what we exactly do as long as its starcraft related... sc2beta/bw.... We'll most likely do both. (Unless sc2 is out by then... lol unlikely!)
If we find a way to get enough keys/copies of sc2 and I figure out a legit location, we could definitely do a beta tourney. if not, bw @ lan center into sc2 somewhere nearby like last time works as well.
either way I'm going to look into finalizing a couple details in the next couple days and after I'll start the details/signup/confirmation thread.
The details that are 100% for sure so far are the LAN will be on Saturday May 22nd in the general DC area.
As always if anyone has any suggestions/comments on anything post here or PM me.

It's looking like it's going to be an all around event. (logistically it's just too difficult to work an entire event around beta, best case we would probably have 6 beta keys but even then the options are not ideal to have a full tourney around sc2beta, flash drive loading at the LAN center is risky, lan center is pissy about installing stuff on their pc's in general, renting a room at school won't work because we'd only have shitty wireless internet there. those are most of the options we would have and there is a large amount of uncertainty with any of those options)
So in order to provide as fun a LAN/day as possible this is what the agenda is most likely going to look like mainly because I have control over making sure all of this can happen well:
bw tourney in the early afternoon @ lan center, dinner @ nearby place and then after dinner mini sc2 beta lan early evening into the night @ a nearby location. (similar to what we did last time in February for anyone who was there! That seemed to work out great in the end)
The tricky thing is figuring out how many people are interested because this will determine where the beta playing will happen. In order to find out just how many people are interested, the signup thread must be made of course!
tomorrow I'll get the confirmation thread going in tourney section and take it from there as people show interest.
curses this sc2 beta making life so hard for me... Now I know what WCG must be going through LOL!

I'd be interested in coming out. May 22nd is the backup weekend for a camping trip, so I should know by early May whether I can make it for sure.
I am generally aweful at Starcraft but I enjoy watching and reading TL. It would be cool to meet some people from here in real life and see what the scene is all about.
