By the time you're level 9-10, most fights don't play out where you can channel Shackles that long regardless, and most of those synergies only come into play while you're still laning. The prime motivation behind the extra 1-2 ranks of Shackles is that its mana cost scales less aggressively than Hex at rank 2. The higher ranks don't have this benefit, and by the time you are level 9-10, you will have Arcane Boots. Particularly since Blink costs no mana, the mana concern is less of a big deal at that point, so you usually want to start boosting Hex at/before then. You might be 4-1-2 or 4-1-3 then max Hex, but it's somewhat rare that you'd get to 4-1-4. | ||

instead of maxing torrent at 8 and 9 getting 2 points in x-mark seems more normal (some even play 1221), and later you maybe want to consider maxing stats instead of getting more x-mark. | ||

In mid you usually get something along the lines of bottle, phase, drums, (if shadowblade its around here), magic wand, crit, after that you get more crits or bkb or divine rapier, eventually heart if you die too fast. There is also support kunkka, i think chuan played it in ti 4.
