Sumail, Maybe, and Envy all actually level ult at 14 and 16.
It actually makes only a very small difference, but 24-25 ulti is probably right for guide-level play because only a more proficient Ember will be doing the sorts of things that make the 2nd and 3rd points in Ulti worth it at 14-16. 100 damage on a Remnant jump is not nothing though and a good enough Ember player will make good on that 100 damage often enough for it to be better than 2 points of Stats.
Most commonly you'll put a safety remnant in a jungle camp and the 100 damage will save you 1-2 autoattacks on doing that camp, repeated about once a minute when your Travels come off CD. Occasionally it'll mean the difference in a kill, but that's much more of an edge case.

I think the difference is negligible, but for the sake of imitating what's done at higher pub and competitive levels, we'll imitate.

I find lens to be super useful on Kaolin. Smash already has more range than you ever need so the fact that aether doesn't work on it is w/e.
The grip range is a big deal. As the game progresses he tends to want to stand further and further away from fights, and being able to do the 1-rock QE and QEW combos from 200 units further out is really nice. It makes him wtfbroken if you ever get aghs as well.
I'd probably put it in situational or extension. Imo he's a top-10 lens hero. However, he's a bottom-3 hero for guidability, so it doesn't matter that much.

Grip's the only spell you actually NEED a range increase on, so it doesn't actually change much that it doesn't work on Smash. You very rarely hit things at absolute max range with Smash because of the slow projectile speed, so 200 more range on it wouldn't change anything. Grip actually does get cast at max range.

the grip range is only 100 less than a blink dagger (w/out lens) and since it no longer affects allies unless you have an agha, i would say lens is pretty mediocre over a blink/force staff.

Faery fire is pretty pointless on junglers. Idk personally I think it's overused across the board, but I might end up being wrong. I would only consider it "standard" on basedamage-oriented mids like qop.
Side shop bottle is pretty much exclusively for roamers who are going to go straight from there to a rune. That means roaming supports like BH/kaolin/ogre etc, and some solo offlaners who need regen anyway and might find themselves shoved out of lane (eg. bat, clock).
I wouldn't ever put it higher than situational, since it's pointless to get a sideshop bottle on a hero who's staying in lane. If you don't get a rune immediately after buying it, you just paid 660g for 90hp and now you need to take courier off your mid to bottle crow.
