Warlock (Mid) - Fatal Bonds description should not mention using it for lane harassment. Alternatively, Fatal Bonds be taken before level 13.
Similarly the introduction shouldn't mention "early-game" Fatal Bonds.

I'm seeing either a lot of priority farming for Warlock, which isn't reasonable in public games or flat-out delaying Fatal Bonds to 17.
With Middle, most are leveling E as a follow-up to a fast 6.

Not the point.
The descriptions for mid Warlock assume he's a side lane support, as in "During the early-game, his Fatal Bonds with his high-base damage makes him any carry's best friend and annoyance to the enemy team".
|
Your second statement states that Fatal Bonds be taken before level 13. This is one of your two points made.

Tried Warlock mid strictly by the guide. Midas made sure the level 3 ult + Aghs was timely, Offering -> Upheaval did a ton in teamfights, and I didn't really miss Fatal Bonds before 13. The only thing I really missed was Force Staff.
Farm space didn't seem to be a problem despite our greedy team comp, which included a jungle Prophet and safe-lane Drow. Although that may have been the Drow getting starved instead. Golem drops let me farm very aggressively afterwards at low risk.

I actually just played a game myself. Went very smoothly, but I had priority offlane farm.
I might add late-game boots to the guide.

Surprisingly not finding too many things to be dated right now. Some minor check-ups I need to do but thus far, things feel satisfactory. Issue releases in two weeks, so I'm a bit crunched but still paying attention to sweeping changes.

For Windranger FF at 6 seems reasonable now too because the mana cost is so low and the extra 100 attack speed makes it more significant especially vs towers (If I'm looking at it right with 0 IAS it went from dealing +66% dps at rank 1 to +100%dps).
(I edited out a question about RoB as it's quite popular on the hero).

Basi is still fine for offlane WR, though it's just one of several mana options (offlane Bottle, SR being the other choices). FF at 6 kind of depends, because while it can be good, offlane WR usually doesn't get scenarios where you get to use it till level 8/9, since if you're still just in a 1vX laning situation, you probably won't get solo-kill attempts or chances to break tower at level 6/7. Mid definitely takes FF at 6 because of the greater solo-kill threat and chances to participate in a gank.
It's possibly getting to the point where you'd want to differentiate between WR mid and offlane, since mid usually has the farm to make the DPS transition earlier (with something like Mael Agha Blink MKB), and skills somewhat differently since you're more or less guaranteed to get Bottle.

Yeah I guess splitting the guides would make the current build make more sense. I can see delaying the ult from the offlane, but with the guide being completely generic it seemed odd.

I can make a mid-Windranger guide and remove the Phantom Lancer Mid guide (which should have been removed from months ago).
Trying to avoid making too many split guides. An even 150 with all the heroes released in my dream.

Heroes with split guides right now: Alch, AA, Axe, Beastmaster, BS, Brew, Doom, DK, Earth Spirit, ET, Ember, Gyro, Kunkka, LC, Leshrac, Lifestealer, Lina, LD, Lycan, Naga, Nyx, PL, Phoenix, Shadow Shaman, Silencer, Skywrath, Slark, Sniper, Tiny, Troll, Tusk, Ursa, Warlock, Weaver
AA - remove mid (mid hasn't been suitable for him for a while, as much as I like playing it) Earth - remove mid (hasn't been a mid hero really since the remake, is pretty much exclusively support and sometimes offlane) ET - remove mid (repeated Spirit nerfs made this a shitty mid hero because Spirit doesn't do enough damage to make pressure against anyone--mostly support or offlane now) PL - remove mid, as you mentioned
Sniper/Troll you can combine the guides because how you pick items/skills don't differ by enough between mid and safe lane. Sniper should be max Shrapnel, then Take Aim, with Headshot last in both cases.
|
Phoenix split guide isn't useful either. The only difference is whether or not you buy a RoP at the beginning, but the middle guide still recommends tranquil boots first so there's no reason to not go to lane with the RoP.
Though my understanding was torte doesn't like to compress guides because you just straight up lose whomever is subbed to them. If that's the case I'd say just leave 1 WR guide because she seems like she could compress back into one guide at some point either by gaining popularity in a single lane role or by just going straight up DPS items regardless of position (i.e. mael agh's from offlane).

I think Mek is probably more sustainable from mid due to you getting a Bottle, but yeah otherwise the guides aren't that different for Phoenix too.

Well also overall you convinced me it's probably best to just "suck it up" and get mek if your team isn't going to. Though I still cheat and don't get it sometimes. I also generally just get midas -> mek a lot and have a delayed mek because I trust my ability to win a game via early 16 more than by having the faster mek (which probably isn't correct, but it feels nice).
I just end up not casting sun ray as much and farming less with fire spirits until later on which really stinks in some ways, but you can usually manage something at least.
If Mek is going to get bumped back in somewhere prominent it probably should be both on mid and offlane. (Though mek is always really hard for guides since it's a hierarchy of who should get it).

PL lane guide should max doppelganger over phantom rush i think. max doppel lets you farm the jungle ridiculously fast especially compared to phantom rush
