Sniper items are super situational based on what is and isn't dangerous to you.
Most of the Sniper games in DAC were against a very similar range of threats, especially when it was picked vs. SF.

Shouldn't you just cut Manta completely then? I think the main reason it was there to begin with was the mid-game Yasha. It's probably more Situational than Extension.
Gyro has an ass of a time actually sieging towers, so if he's a solo carry without another good sieging hero on his team, you pretty much have to get Manta to hit towers safely.
It's a pretty questionable combat item in most cases though, so if there's another sieging hero (either a second carry that can hit towers better than you can, or a pushing support like Rhasta or Lesh), you'd rather not buy it.

I usually associate Manta as both a purge and to help farm + disperse damage in this regard. I'll slot it in situational (though I prefer S&Y) since I'm not getting Yasha

You'd almost always get it after BKB, so the dispel is only useful for some specific situations, and as a farming item it's pretty mediocre because the 900 gold recipe actually gives you no stats on top of Ultimate Orb + Yasha (and you'd never buy an Ultimate Orb to "help farm").
The primary consideration is for sieging.

I'll leave it as situational then.

Don't even make a WW mid guide IMO. The hero sucks in 1v1 lanes because his base damage and attack range are total ass.
The hero's only really a support hero.

I'd figured he'd want the fast six and his ganking tools are pretty good, no? I was thinking: fast six with medallion would be pretty godly

Wouldn't the levels in Q, plus the range make him a viable mid? The healing also goes a long way to ensuring he can take on mid pretty well.

The CD for Arctic Burn is ridiculously long and the duration is ridiculously short. Even at level 7, it's only up for 6 seconds out of every 20. You can't even cast it once per creep wave till level 5 and even then, there's not a whole lot you can do with it for laning purposes when the duration is so short.
Cold Embrace doesn't solve his problems mid, particularly when one of them is SF/Sniper/Invoker-level base damage without any of the benefits that make those heroes capable of winning lanes.

Her range is not that bad even so.
Still better than Huskar or Batrider. Still fails against most I agree. Probably not worth doing, but we will see.
I think she could use Blink Dagger though or Meka. Medallion would be cool too.

Huskar's range is technically longer because even though his base range is 400, his orb has a longer cast range and costs no mana.

I'll see what the public suggests as well as what I find. I think maybe Middle won't be viable, but who knows how much they believe in that old Playdota guide.

i very much doubt people are going to follow an old playdota guide especially since the hero was released relatively recently (patch 6.75 = after TI2- so most people by then were starting to switch over to Dota 2)

I mean your average playdota guide is roughly the same tier as the "BALLIN OUT OF CONTROL" Skeleton King one right? Only 100x less funny.
The idea that a playdota guide existing validates a playstyle is patently crazy.

help why'd ET's skill build change he's unplayed in the pro scene these days but I'm still pretty sure u get some early level of stomp since pre-boots spirit + stomp is a pretty reliable stun.
that said, i'm not well versed in what u max first etc because spirit damage is so low now etc.

The change was because he had Ult at 11 before, which is stupid because there's no point in taking Ult at 11 over rank 2 Stomp.
