On a typical system using a U processor, the heatsinks are very small. If it's running the fan at low speeds, that's about what happens. Actually, some systems don't run the fan at all for a load like that, potentially. If the mobo can handle the temps around that area (the chip can), it's no problem. | ||

According to DPort, you can run up to 4 monitors at a time off a single 1.2 DPort MST port (1080p range), 2 1440p, or 1 1440p and 2 1080p. The specs for this hub say it can do up to three at 60hz 24bpp. Now based on the limited information it sounds like this hub can still do a 1440p + two 1080s, but the 24bpp part concerns me. Right now my monitors all use 32-bit color. Research says the last 8 bits are for alpha (transparency) information. In my case I'm looking to use one 2560x1440 and two 1680x1050s off this, with two separate 2560x1440s off dvi dual-link slots. Does anyone know what loss I would expect at 24bpp vs 32 and whether this is even a concern? Also, would I expect meaningful latency increase to any of the monitors (notably a discrepancy between the two on DVI and the third on this hub)? | ||

from like.. [......[......] to [....[......]..] to [..[......]....] etc, if that makes sense. I need to make like 60-90 frames for a few seconds of 30fps video, scrolling across. I can manually make every single image but that would be a pain in the ass. Anyone know any software to do this? For showing sc2 microstutter, i'm quite sure that i can show this by video now but a simulated "best case scenario" would show my point much, much better - i think a lot of people can't really see the problem without being aware of what it could be like. Any help etc appreciated much, thanks | ||
