problem solved. i just pasted my other networked pc's variable text. and the sound enabled appears now. twas weird toggling the key and only seeing sound disabled notification.

Good to hear, deleting variables.txt with the game closed should create a new one when it starts up also (for anyone else reading)

Might just not be your thing, but did you actually try it? Some things you can't understand until you experience it.

When CS was new, I thought it was stupid compared to QW, Q2, Q3 and UT, but it ultimately got a lot more popular than those. I still don't really like it much, so I guess it's simply not for me and there's nothing to understand, is just about taste.

Just wondering if anyone could help, as I've only ever done a fresh install of OS's on new computers. I'm changing OS's from XP to Win 7, and have 2 hard drives on my computer. Can I preserve my files by moving them from the boot drive to the second drive and only reformat the boot drive? Or will I end up having to get an external hard drive for this? Thanks!

Some motherboards will automatically detect and apply the appropriate XMP profile and in other cases, you may have to go into the BIOS to manually set the XMP profile.

By going over some pretty low clocks (1600mhz on Haswell for example) you're overclocking the IMC and this sometimes requires tweaks to a few things to make work (xmp profile sometimes throws in +SA volts, etc) so you kinda have to do it yourself or at least flick the switch for xmp on and be aware of it most of the time AFAIK

For general media consumption and gaming, is there a point to getting a higher clocked version of an i3?

Example: i3-4130 (3.4ghz, 3mb L3) vs i3-4340 (3.6ghz, 4mb L3)

Would the +200mhz and and +1mb L3 cache make a noticeable difference?

Depends entirely on price; it can be very hard to justify the 4340 if budget is all that holds you back from an i5 for example. If you can't get i5 or are stuck with a weaker gpu because of budget, then 200mhz and 1mb of cache on the cpu is hardly noticeable in comparison

Sometimes 4340 is way more expensive, like $30

Guys.

I have a question i am trying to install Windows 2000 Server sp4 on Virtual Box.
The problem is that at the end of installation it reboots but runs the installation setup again. It does not save the installed operating system.

Already applying the solution found in this

and it is not working.

Nevermind it worked i set the delay to 5 milliseconds. Here it is for anybody who is having the same problems here.

You could try a much higher delay there like 10-20ms to see if anything changes.

I vaguely recall having difficulties installing a 95 VM, which I think was solved with shrinking the virtual disk size or RAM amount. I think the "normal" allowed amount in W2KS is 4GB RAM and 2TB per disk (I doubt you have a VM that big

Recently updated the GPU firmware and drivers on my R9 280x card. Since then, both screens "twitch" up and down at random intervals. Just once, quickly. Any suggestions? The card has been rock steady until now, and while one of the monitors is obnoxious about power saving turn off (LG 23" E2340V Flatron, both).

I'm thinking it could be power issues, or maybe the new drivers? (They're the Asus drivers for the card.)

So, the simple question - should I be freaking out?

Currently using windows 2000 server on VirtualBox. I cannot authorize dhcp server and i am the admin which is weird.

The problem.
--> the dhcp authorize option does not exist
--> the other means to authorize which is from the
action --> manage authorized servers --> authorize(after inputting the ip address of the server)

I get the error

The DHCP service could not contact Active Directory.

I can't find the solution on how to make an account able to become domain admin as what the solutions where presented from the net.

How did you guys resolve this ? Any ideas ?

So I just soldered the headphone jack back onto my headphones (after my roommate kicked em), and I've run into an issue. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the left and the common parts of the jack aren't connected (DMM on continuity mode gives a buzz between the tip and the sleeve, but not the left ring and the sleeve). But for some reason, it's the right channel that is having issues. I'm very confused right now...
