I get static noise after connecting to a ventrilo server. It however stops when I close ventrilo. I've tried two Banshee headsets, on 4 different computers, and all give the same results. None of the computers was running or started running the process referred to earlier in this thread. Programs it affects; Ventrilo Teamspeak Steam friends chat -> only while calling. Listening to stuff that doesn't include the mic is not a problem though... It seems being in a program that plans on usage of the microphone gives me static noise... How on earth to fix this, I don't know. | ||

I noticed that if I restarted the Windows Audio service it fixed the problem 99% of the time. I'm not sure why exactly, but it works. I have also made a quicker .bat version of this, which makes the fix a lot quicker: Save as SoundFixer.bat and it needs to be run as an administrator + Show Spoiler + @echo off net stop Audiosrv net start Audiosrv echo Service Started if ERRORLEVEL 1 goto error exit :error echo There was a problem pause Hope this will fix everyone else's problems. | ||

Also the sound stops sometimes or lags up a bit. Dont know of any fix :/ | ||

However I have this other issue and I'm curious whether other people also have it. The microphone seems to have problems detecting when I'm speaking. I use the Ventrilo Setup to test my mic, instead of bothering people on skype everytime I want to test it, and since it plays back what I say it's more convevient than having to ask what the person is hearing. So lets say I'm on skype with a friend, and I'm talking.. it's quite positive they won't receive a single word I say. Or maybe they might only hear half a word out of the whole sentence, because my mic only decided to register that one or two syllables. I didn't always have this problem. When I first got the headset, it was perfect and everything worked properly and I was quite happy. But for almost a year now, the mic has been unuseable. Going into Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording, only my banshee is enabled, everything else is disabled. Going under Properties -> Levels, it's at 100%. Under Advanced, I've tried Exclusive Mode checked and unchecked (I don't know what it does so I tried both just for the sake of it). | ||

again sorry for the res, but i found this looking for something else for this headset, and i am sure it's all of your problems, felt it necessary for anyone else that may stumble here edit, 1 year since latest, don't feel as bad | ||
