Yo, i just get new ss kinzu and i have huge problem!
First day, everything ok, mouse is great, 100% ok no bad stuff etc... Second day, and mouse is fuc*** up. Instead of single left button click, i get double click, so i wrote to steelseries to send me new one.
Ok i get new mouse, everything is ok. Next day, same situation as before, a lot of duble clicks, its not all the time but IT HAPPEN and its really annoying.
Now my problem is: What could happened? Is it my PC or Mouse issue? I tried to change usb mouse connection but it failed, also i tried to plug it in my laptop and it failed too. Also i tried to reinstall drivers, old ones, new ones and stuff but it FAILED. So im not sure if i should get $$, get new mouse, do sth with my PC, im without any ideas. HELP ME PLEASE.

Its a mouse issue. I think i had 6-7 SS ikaris opticals and 7-8 Xais and all of them had some kind of problem. I believe most of them was due to the button was worn out even i got to use them and double clicking. I know 3 person who got this mouse and have double clicking problem when single clickling. Just get in contact with SS and look for an exchange. Its a known issue.

have you checked your mouse settings in windows and made sure that the double click speed hasnt been changed?
control panel --> mouse ---> buttons ---> double click speed (should be somewhere in the middle)

I run linux and have had this problem with multiple mice. It could very well be a mouse problem but seeing as I've gone days without it happening or it happen every two seconds I have to think it is more computer related. I haven't had the problem happen with my SS Kinzu yet but I'm just waiting for it to happen because it inevitably will. SS is really good about customer service and will basically keep sending you new mice as long as you need.

Or should i maybe get $$ and get r/a/z/e/r abyss ?

The razer is a great mouse but I think you will find this problem can eventually happen to all mice. Find someone with a razer so you can see if you like the feel that much better than the Kinzu.

Set your report rate to 125Hz.
This is a known issue and will hopefully be fixed in a future update to the software.

I had razer krait before cuz of sc:bw, and it worked well so im pretty sure that other razer mices gonna be ok.
That 125Hz failed ;<

Razer DeathAdder Respawn has none of these issues.

That's weird. I've had the same problem too and it helped me and everybody on google. Are you sure you checked "OK" instead of "Cancel" when you closed the driver menu? If you are, maybe try restarting your PC or reconnecting your mouse. That's pretty odd.

Hmm i did it again and it seems like its working! I'll made some more "TESTS" after my school so i can tell if its ok or if its still playing tricks on me. Well if thats gonna work ill be so happy and thanks for u guys.

I had the same issue with my Copperhead, and i made a web search and got to a page that had a registry to stop doubleclicking when it was not intended, but i cant find it.
If anyone that knows about that registry could post here.

Ur the best guys, thanks so much!

Hi, i also got Kinzu and didnt wanted to make another thread with same problem. I did all from Mottz's post and it's still same problem. Do someone know what to do futher? I'm on verge to crash it to the wall.
|
I did what Mottz said. Lets see what happen and a feed back soon.
I had a Kinzu too and the problem started 2 months later I bought it.
|
Have had this problem since I first bought the mouse 3 weeks ago, and it actually drives me insane when I game.
However, tried to do all of the above things, so will attempt a few games in SC2 to see if it helps, and provide feedback here as soon as I feel I have reached a conclusion!:D
Edit: it worked :D

Hey I did some research on the internet and I found an application which actually fixes this problem. I can not find the link, but if anyone is interested just PM me .
|
I'm not sure about applications that fix this problem, I know I had a kinzu and it had issues, so I RM'd it to steelserie and bought a xai instead

Just open a ticket on their site and you can get a new one for free.
|
The only think I did to solve the problem was set mouse Report Rate to 120Hz or 500Hz. In 1000Hz the double clicking s*** still the same.

Is easy open a ticket in an american company when you live in US

hey,
If anyone still has this problem, go to their official website: http://steelseries.com/support/downloads
Download the 8MB software that comes for the mouse. Run the program, and change the Report Rate to 125Hz. It's been said before by one of the top posters, but "how" to do it wasn't mentioned.
This fixed my double click problem using the KINZU steelseries mouse

So I just did this.....and now the sensitivity is COMPLETELY fucked. Disabling the mouse acceleration doesn't seem to do a damned thing.
Any tips for configuring this mouse that eliminates the acceleration?

I just had the same problem but changing to 125Hz seems to have fixed it. Thanks very much :D

I have a SS Kinzu since at least 1year and a half, and I can say that I didn't have any problems at all. I played a lot of CS1.6 and SC2 during that time. I use the latest firmware and yeah, I used 500hz.
Imo it's a problem in your PC instead of the mouse

Unfortunately you can't disable or remove the acceleration problems on the V1 Kinzu, they are part of the sensor. This mouse is just awful unfortunately (very low malfunction speed, positive acceleration problems, lots of angle snapping (not necessarily bad)), and is even worse as it's in a size that many people want.
The V2 is somewhat improved, but still has a really low malfunction rate and is still very lacking compared to everything else on the market. :/

Acceleration is built into the firmware, I believe.
The reason why your sensitivity is "fucked" is because you drastically lowered the report rate. At 500hz, Windows is sampling data from the mouse 500 times a second, at 125hz this will only be happening 125 times a second (once every 8ms). Basically it's going to reduce your ability for fine motor control over the mouse, would be much more noticable at higher DPI/CPI settings.
I'm getting to a point where I would never reccomend anyone buying SS mice, Zowie has similar designs and shapes without all the problems SS seems to be having. I'm sure there are people who are happy with their SS mice, but I've been reading more complaints from SS owners than just about any other mice.

Does the report rate also affect clicking? Was this the cause of my problem? It seems to be fixed now, but I can't remember what I did.
|
In theory it could. I guess it all depends on how the firmware samples and reports button clicks. But either way the mouse has to take the button click information and store it in it's buffer until Windows samples the device. So in theory, I guess reducing the rate at which Windows samples the mouse could potentially elimiate double clicks?
Either way reducing the USB reporting rate is drastically reducing the functionality of the device, for the effect it has on the device's sensitivity and repsonsiveness. Granted the Kinzu is cheap, but that's taking away about 50% of what you are paying for. Kind of rediculous that SS hasn't fixed the issue.

HELLO GUYS
I BOUGHT KINZU 2DAYS AGO ... ON 1ST DAYITS WORKING GOOD .. BUT TODAY IT IS WORKING SLOWLY...
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ??
|
Try a different mousepad, if it has problems on different surfaces then either your dpi settings were reset or the sensor is damaged and you should replace it.
