Since the new public beta 2 patch, my performance dropped badly. I didn't change any settings!
Also i got mouse flickering no matter if "capture of layered windows" is on or off.
Does anybody else have this problem or might know how to fix this?
Here's a video i captured before the patch: http://de.justin.tv/elzartv/b/283522587 and after the patch: http://de.justin.tv/elzartv/b/283552396
No settings (framerate, bitrate, resolution, etc.) were changed.
PC specs:
AMD Athlon Phenom II X4 955 BE 4 Gig Ram Radeon HD 5870 Windows 7 - 64 bit DSL 16k
Xsplit Settings:
1280x720 24 fps Quality: 6 Bitrate: 710 kb/s
Before the patch everything looked great. I dont know why the patch made things worse.
//edit
It's not just me. Friends of mine got the same thing. In game it looks just as before the patch, but the video quality is reduced and the framerate is dropping if you rewatch your broadcast, like i've shown in my 2 example videos.

Roll back the patch then? It is a beta after all.

If i install Public Beta Patch 1 again, i won't be able to log in.

Same here, and when i try set setting down, i got error syncro message. So can`t get proper stream anymore .

Okay, now i can log in again. Thank you.

Ok, i just received an email from the xsplit support, telling me i should "try removing then re-adding all your screen region sources".
And guess what, it worked. :D
So Public Patch 2 is safe to use. So for any of you having problems with the new patch, remove then re-add all screen region sources.
|
i didnt read this before I had the problems, so Ill post my solution here (though Elzars is probably less time consuming ) Just uninstall it and download the update from their website, works :D

Thanks for this.
I was having the same problems, and can confirm that this does fix it.
|
for some reason i cant find the quality tab anymore:S or the bitrate:S
|
If the fix i posted still doesnt work, try to delete your justin.tv / own3d.com account in your xsplit client and add your account again.
so you have to clean xsplit as if you've never used it before, then re-add everything new and it'll work just like in public patch 1.

@MrBitter
My pleasure. :D
@Mysterion
Well it's there. Try to reinstall.
|
ok ill give that a go. um also when im watchin the recording there is this ticking sound in the back round... any ideas??
|
well reinstall did nothing. Can someone tell me under what options will i find bit-rate and quality. Weirdest thing i could find it yesterday.

if you watch your own stream while you stream, you have to mute it otherwise it generates feedback.
//edit
oh wait, you did mute it. you got your mic on or somethink like that?

thanks a lot Elzar good man

oh ok, i guess it was the feedback then. :D

This does fix it. Thank you very much.

I tried re-adding all my screen captures, deleteing my channel from the site and reinstalling after uninstalling and not working for me still getting mouse flashing, will update people if I find a way to fix it, i did email support as well. but if not working for anyone else or if anyone has any more ideas on how to fix it please let me know. I will post back as soon as I have fixed it for myself as well.

@HeeroMaki You have to disable show mouse clicks. For some reason the latest patch glitches the mouse out with that activated.
I'm still getting lag issues, even after remaking my screen regions. Ugh. Not fun.

I didnt say you should delete your justin.tv / own3d.com account, but your account in your xsplit client. But maybe you meant that and i'm just misunderstanding you. =)
I hope the support will have some answers for you guys.

I found that if you click the screen region in the selection box in bottom left of main xsplit screen, for some reason it always has "capture layered windows" on, even if you have it turned off in the general settings. Untick that and no more flickering mouse.
However, I am still getting insane streaming lag, like it seems about 5fps, even on 320x240... I used to stream on 1280x720, 6 quality, 700, 700, 30 fps absolutely fine. But now, nothing works without extremely bad fps for stream viewers!
*sad-panda*
|
I deleted all my screen captures and my account and still having the choppy viewing. WTF!
|
new version out./.. 1.0.11041401
everything seems to work fine EXCEPT saving settings on site but locally. Failed synchronization with the servers etc etc...it doesnt seem though to be a mojor issue. anyone else having the same prob?
as gar as cho[pping screens lags flickering cursors etc etc i m pretty sure its users' fault cause i assume they didnt make the right things in order of what xsplit proposed. never had such problems .
|
Well, since 1104 i got this chopping/mouse flickering too... wasnt there before. But simply uncheck "optimize for motion picture" and "capture layered windows" worked.
Only thing i wonder is: Optimize for motion picture - Whats the difference? More cpu usage if checked? more if unchecked? Cant believe that it doesnt do anything cuz a while ago everyone said it HAS to be checked?
|
I guess xplit was patched, and not optimize for motion pict is bad, and its best to uncheck it. Havent tried it, but many people say it helps now. Patching backwards i guesss;/

I was helping a friend setup a stream today and was trying to get Xsplit to work, but he was getting like 1 frame every 10 seconds on the stream. He had a decent CPU and a very good upload speed too. I tried the good old FME + VhScrCap method and that worked amazingly well. He was getting a solid, consistent fps in game and on the stream, and it looked damn good too. If you're having too much trouble, switch back to the old way until Xsplit sort out their problems.

xsplit works absolutely perfectly. if you dont know how to use it then u deserve to it. dont blame the programm if u havent figure out all of its potential or possible tweaks / solutions.
its funny to imagine that FME is less resource intensive than xsplit.

I was helping a friend set it up. I use Xsplit and it's fine for me. I know how to use an incredibly simple program with about 8 different possible settings lol. It clearly just doesn't work well on some systems.

I know a lot of people who are having problems due to the new xsplit patch. It's not like they dont know what they're doing, it's the patch.
Re-adding screen regions doesn't seem to do the trick for all of us.

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled
the only problem i have now, is that i get these "relics" when i right click anywhere in windows for the menu when i right click and chose Task Manager "Task manager" stays on the screen where i clicked it

Dude the new xsplit patch is garbage and a lot of people are having problems with it.

I still prefer using Xsplit beta 1. Weird that it is less bugs on their first release, than the second

If you close all your open browsers, the task manager relic will go away.

I just started broadcasting with the new update(beta 2) and I didn't know the quality was going to be shit like this. Here is a video before the fix http://www.justin.tv/goodseed/b/283931351
After removing my screen region and re-added the screen region of my desktop, everything changed back to normal but it is still laggy. http://www.justin.tv/goodseed/b/283932204
I think I will just go back to beta 1. Thanks for the fix anyways.
Edit: Crap... I don't know how to go back to beta 1 =[
|
The problem is that there forcing you to use the Beta 2 now, after the 17th i dont think you will be able to revert back to the Beta 1 unfortunately.
Some say re-do screen regions, some say uncheck the "Optimized for motion picture" via screen region tab, but i think Xsplit royal F'd something up when they did this patch and hopefully they'll do a patch...for a patch (Inception much?) to fix it.
|
Is there any other program to stream? I prefer xsplit because it is easy to use but any other program?
|
Same problems here. Asked in another Thread for with another Idea to fix the problem. THREAD
But no answers
@ GoodSeed There are many programs to stream like the one from Adobe. But they are hard to handle and you need mostly two or three others to stream with it. XSplit is the best alternative, but still make some problems
|
I hope one of the Xsplit guys is reading in here or some may refer this to them. Cause thats pretty much the same problem that I and a lot of other people have. It's gonna be pretty laggy even on really low quality settings. They should take a look why.
|
I have send them a mail with a link :D
|
Do you guys use own3d.tv with xsplit? I don't know why but i get black screens when i'm trying to get the stream on. Yesterday it somehow worked but today it is black again. I tried removing adding screen region and readding my whole stream too but it just doesn't work. I am trying to check uncheck layered windows and optimize motion picture but they're just no help at all...
|
Just did my first broadcast with the new patch to test it out... I managed to fix the blinking mouse icon. During streaming everything seemed fine until I watched my VOD. The actual gameplay is shown to be choppy as fuck when it isn't... while the actual mouse movement seems normal. I'm gonna try re-installing and resetting all my settings if I can't resolve this.
VOD to show what I mean: http://www.justin.tv/elpokemono/b/283993755

hmm i got a question. any reason why my stream has a tick tick sound ??? full screen windowed mode maybe ?? also i heard something about close the recording while streaming? anyone wanna elaborate??

Concerning that problem you can rightclick your source screen and remove "optimized for motion picture": Lag is gone for me but the quality is slighty worse than pre-patch. I hope they are gonna fix that lag issue so that everything's working fine again even with optimized motion pictures.
|
+1 for disabling "optimize for motion picture" fixed my laggy stream issues, I agree that quality is still worse than pre-patch.
|
hate to bump this, but still getting sync errors everytime i try to change a setting. redid my owned and jtv accounts, redid screen capture.
|
I hope they are gonna fix that lag issue so that everything's working fine again even with optimized motion pictures.
Wont happen, since the bug is not that its working wrong but more like they forgot to change the lable. The new lable should be "optimized for NON-motion pictures"
Right from Xsplit´s blog section: Explanation: "Optimize for motion picture" label was not updated correctly. The text should naturally have been "Optimize for non-motion picture". So by the next update we will get the text label corrected, but in general, keep this checkbox unchecked. (also after the label gets changed to the correct wording "Optimize for non-motion picture").
|
User settings, general. Make sure Optimize text resize is disabled. Most people have done that, but in the beta patch 2, for me and a couple of others.. it's still enabled and so it lags.
So make sure it's turned off in user settings > general and ALSO right click on your region source and turn it off there too (for some reason they aren't linked).
|
I have the same in game FPS issues using xsplit, normal FPS is locked at 60 and never dips (i7 930, GTX 295) but with xsplit it seems to stick around 30 fps constant. Checking optimize for motion picture actually seems to fix it, but that screws up the stream framerate and causes lots of choppiness. I use the .bat file method for FME and VHScrCap/VHMulticam and I have no FPS issues and great stream quality BUT it seems to crash my PC randomly, on average of once every 2 days.
I'd like to use xsplit since it seems more stable but it has weird FPS issues. I think its linked to the fact it forces you to stream your desktop even if you pick SC2 as the screen region. Using VHScrCap with FME, when I choose sc2 as the capture region, it locks it to sc2 and sc2 only, no desktop viewing.
