I'd like to add I managed to drop my keyboard from around 6 feet and it felt like ultra slow-mo when it hit the concrete while my heart fell faster than it did.
Anyway after curling up into the foetal position and crying for several hours I plugged it in and it worked just as normal, besides the rattling sound when shaken.
And to answer the above users question, no it doesn't make any sound or feel like how you described so maybe you should upload a small video on youtube to show us exactly what the problem is because it would feel awkward going back after a day or two :/

Reporting back after turning in my faulty 6gv2. The new one has the exact same issue of yet again 2 keys, this time its "M" and ";". I would not mind about it too much, but on theres another problem with this one: the spring on the W key is squeaky and clearly less responsible than the other keys. Considering that I'm also playing some WASD games this is clearly horrible.
I still like the keyboard a lot, but I'm under the impression that steelseries got some serious issues with maintaining quality standards- which is not acceptable on a 80 eurons keyboard. I think I will eventually give it back and get a 10$ piece again which will last for another 5 years :S

Both my brother and I own this keyboard. Personally, I have had no issues. However, my brother is on his 3rd one.
The 1st he sent in but it must have got lost in the mail so my parents bought him a new one entirely. Then the shift keys stopped working. At this point, Steelseries just sent him a new one for free and they didn't even ask for the old one back.
After going through all these posts, it seems that the build quality is somewhat iffy which is disappointing because it's a nice keyboard.

Popular keyboard and only the ones with problems come to whine so no making statements about build quality from that.

But then, about 3 weeks ago, my "T" key stopped working, but not totally. If I open Notepad and hit it about 50 times, sometimes a little "t" will appear. So I said to myself "ok, this is just one key, I can remap another key to mimic stim/storm/etc.
But then, 15 minutes ago, my "1" key (not the one on the numpad) stopped working as well. This one seems a little less bad, since it's like working 1 times on 10. And the more I press it, the more hits it takes to actually make it work. Also, the "t" key stopped working while I was writing something on skype, and the "1" when I was mid-game and selectionning my hotkey group.
I don't want to send it back, since it's the second time they send me a broken keyboard, and the shipping costs are starting to getting high. I want to know if there is anything I can/could do beforehand. Maybe it's some switch inside the keyboard, but I I can't seem to be able to open it completely (even after taking out all the screws).
Thank you for your help!
contact customer support and tell them your issues, I can say from experience steel series has one of the more useful customer service centres. I managed to get some of my shipping costs covered and some free merchandise ( a kinzu originally, but, now a xai due to availability and also a mousepad.) due to all the issues I was having.

the problem is not related to the switches but to the board and the welding itself, i had the same problem and i didn't wanna spend money on shipping fees so i repaired it myself. Some routes get cut randomly, you need to check them with a multimeter and weld them but the wax they put to protect is kinda awful so i'll suggest to use wire instead of trying to fix the route. Just find the start and the end of the route for the key and bind them.

My 5 key is faulty..this is supposed to be as solid as they come, but I see others have the same problem. They key mechanical aspects seem fine, but is still works very rarely.. I can't deal with a faulty 5 key..remapping seemes "unfair" and not for me. I never return stuff because of being loaded and actually going to the post office with a package is not in my vocabulary.
Since this seemes so common I am going towards firmware/driver issues maby..

I own the 7g. The only problem I had was the spacebar was double tapping. I contacted SS support and they sent mew a new spacebar free of charge, however i later found out if I removed the space bar and put it back on, it fixed the problem. Other than that. I've had no problems with mine.

hey everyone, a couple of minutes ago the d key on my 6gv2 suddenly stopped working, using copy paste now to use the key, does anyone know a solution aside from sending it back?

Have you tried to use a different usb port on your motherboard/laptop?

Contact the customer support when they open again, and they will most likely send you a new one. I have had my 6gv2 for 1 1/3y now with zero problems. But I kinda want to switch to the one with red keys.
