you know that people with sli have huge problems with sc2 right?

Yes. I already said earlier in this thread that I tried disabling SLI and have the same issues. Besides, the other guy posting the same GPU usage drop doesn't have an SLI card.

Kreychek: I wanted to reply on your bug report, but it's posted on the american battle.net and I have a european SC2 account, so I can't reply. But you can perhaps reply that I have also monitored everything and have the same issue.

My configuration is:

Intel i5 750 quadcore
Geforce 9800 GX2
4GB DDR2 RAM
Asus P7P55D motherboard
Windows 7 64-bit

And if anyone else was still wondering, the program I use is called EVGA Precision, shows GPU usage, video card memory usage, etc. And yeah it's free.

I have the same kind of problem.
I've read a brief comment about that, but still I'd like to ask everybody who was in Beta:
Did you have this problems playing the Beta?
For me the beta worked just fine during the first phase. I never had any problems, no matter what happened on the screen (playing on low). This is my configuration:

Pentium T4300 with dual 2,1 Ghz
Geforce G210M
4GB RAM
Windows Vista 32-bit

But when the second phase came along this FPS drops began. Whatever Blizzard fucked up, it was between the two Beta phases.
If a lot of people experienced the same, it should be clear that the problem is caused by SC2.

I didn't encounter any problems during phase 2, but I didn't play that much either so it's quite possible that I just didn't notice.

This happened to me when my 9800GX2 was being throttled due to it getting up to ~115°C...
I cleaned out the card and problem solved.

This happens to me a lot, some days it makes the game unplayable. Even if I turn all settings to low and get an average FPS ov 120, every 10 to 15 seconds it rockets down to 5 fps and up again. It makes it totally unplayable and frustrating as hell.

IMO i think that the engine in SC2 is just poorly optimized as of yet. i mean compared to some other games, it's pretty damn scalable graphically, would that have something to do with performance optimization being funky? i mean c'mon, i can max out Crysis, Mafia 2, GTA 4, and World in Conflict all at good framerates @ 1920x1080, SC2 should be smooth as butter.

something to check, in bios on plug and play os, flip that on and off to see if the issue is fixed, sometimes when you turn it off you will not boot though, it lets windows do irq assignments when on, I prefer main board todo it when off, in order to boot with it off you may have to reload machine with it off.

irq conflics make machine stutter and it happens alot in plug n play is on in the bios
