No, vsync or any graphic options does nothing, as most of us suspected it's CPU related. I don't know whether to buy a new motherboard or to wait for a patch (but I doubt they'll fix it anytime soon), it's pretty frustrating playing online with all these fps freezes. You micro some reapers and FREEZE... SPEED UP BAM ALL DEAD.

Right Click -> Catalyst Control Center -> Your Card Name -> 3D Settings -> Standard Setting -> Optimal Performance. I've had this problem in StarCraft 2 and WarCraft 3, and it's all fixed, no more FPS drops etc. Have fun gaming !

AMD 3500 8800gt 2 gigs of ram Ive tried every possible solution to no avail. It really pisses me off that I paid 60 bux for this game and blizzard just seems to be ignoring it. I really hope they fix this soon.

6000+ GTX 280 SC 4gb Corsair XMS2 It's gotta be my CPU for me, but for others not so sure. my VGA used to be able to carry the load on all games, SC2 is the first to show how big my bottleneck really is.

But what I find curious is that no matter what graphics settings I have on starcraft 2 (low-ultra) the framerate never deviates from 30-40 fps which is very... odd.... That is the by-the-book definition of a CPU-limited system.

Intel i5 750 quadcore nVidia 9800 GX2 4GB RAM Windows 7 To be honest I don't see any trend in the rigs people are posting for this issue. Some have ATI cards, others nVidia, some are Intel and others are AMD. It's really annoying though, as I lose a lot of ladder games due to this sudden drop in FPS.

You do have a dual-GPU system, which makes it vulnerable to bad SLI profiles. That is a reason I stick to monolithic GPUs. I saw my friend deal with that too many times when he has his 9800GX2 2 years ago (and 295 more recently). He's on a 480 to avoid that nonsense now.

Only solution for me: Play the game with everything on LOW. And even with stuff on LOW i tried to enable 3d portraits again and i got small but some fps drops, specially when something poped up on the screen during the mission.

It's rated as a 3.37GHz From the official forum: Processadores Intel Core 2 perto de 1.8 GHz é uma velocidade aceitável e deverá ser possível jogar com as definições no mínimo. 2.4 GHz é a velocidade recomendada. Sudden fps drop, if my camera remains stationary the game runs without any kind of problem. Not a processor problem here IMO.
