Read the manual...
You can leave un-used molex and SATA connectors tucked away somewhere in the case.
Yea it fit. Everything should be plugged in now, minus the 1 pin case wires... whenever I figure out where those go.
On the funny side, there was no manual for half the stuff I bought o.o, including the DVD drive.

OEM components such as the optical drive and HDD do not come with manuals or anything except the component itself. All retail components except memory should include a manual.

You mean here in the US? I disagree. It's $52 including shipping from Amazon. Considering its combination of great cooling performance & low noise & the fact that it simply has no competition sub-$70 that can even come near in those 2 aspects combined, I'd say it's priced very well. I mean, what do we have? NZXT HAVIK-140 & Xigmatek Aegir are louder and barely better in cooling, if at all. Megahalems comes without fans and is $65. Everything else is much louder and/or worse cooling... and then the one that beats it: Silver Arrow is $70 @ NCIX.
Yes, here in the U.S. I actually agree with you... to the extent that I bought one from Nan's Gaming Gear (slightly less on shipping). But I'm a little more extreme than most when it comes to low noise, and I considered the cheaper gelid tranquillo, so despite the fact I'm happy about my purchase, I dunno if I'd recommend it much in the states.

MSI does provide a manual.

Mine definitely does not have one :O
*Looking in the box right now. Not that it matters, was pretty easy to install.
Just have to figure out where to plug in the Power/Reset switches from the case now... then check the cables.... and power on and hope shit doesn't fry.

All cables are in! Now to check... and power on...

What is your budget? $400-500
What is your resolution?
1920x1080, could also use a recommendation for a good 22 or 23" monitor.
What are you using it for?
i'm looking to build a computer for my mother. It will be for general use, no gaming at all. Just something capable of doing whatever she needs that will support a large monitor.
What is your upgrade cycle?
No upgrades.
When do you plan on building it?
Later this month
Do you plan on overclocking?
No
Do you need an Operating System?
Yes.
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
No.
Where are you buying your parts from?
Most likely NCIX as I have used them before and were great.

First time wanting to built a computer. I want to give this a try. Are there any recommendations to what parts I should get?
+ Show Spoiler +What is your budget? <&600
What is your resolution? Probably 1920 x 1080. I have yet to buy a monitor, so if someone can suggest me one around the price of $100 dollars, that would be great. (This is not part of the original budget.)
What are you using it for? Mostly gaming for games like Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2. I'm not looking to running the games on Ultra or maxed graphics, but at least medium graphics for both. I will be using the desktop most likely for watching movies on HD if possible.
What is your upgrade cycle? I will use what I build from the start for 3 years or so. Afterwards, I will most likely build another better gaming pc in the future.
When do you plan on building it? Later this month.
Do you plan on overclocking? Unlikely. I will use what I build since I don't even know how to overclock.
Do you need an Operating System? Yes, I will need an operating system.
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? Unlikely.
Where are you buying your parts from? Sites in USA are fine like Newegg or other sites that ship to USA for cheap.

Been writing a php file while playing Mafia, will add support for price pulling and shit for some more popular sites over time. Atm it handles Newegg.
build.zhanxz.net
Example build: http://build.zhanxz.net/?build=38
Note that you do not need to fill in all fields. Can add in functionality for comments, discussion, custom fields (perhaps someone might want a sound card...) later, but I think this is the bare minimum in order to be functional for now.
You can actually link parts from other websites, it just won't be able to automatically parse the current price nor will it provide the item's name.
It is of course saved, and you can refer to the build id to view previously created builds
Saves some formatting time on TL posts, idk if its actually any use haha. If it could be, give some suggestions on what sites to implement support for next, as well as other feedback.
Going to go sleep in a bit though, so no further work on it tonight most likely.

Looks cool. It's also a very useful feature if it is linked to all the major shops.
Dutch people are blessed in that we have a tech-site that offers exactly such a price-comparison tool that scans hundreds of Dutch shops and optimizes the price (including shipping costs).

I got a feeling it's time for me to upgrade my PC. Haven't been able to play games at max graphics for over 4 years... Tried checking out some components myself but it's hard since I can't really compare the products to each other, and don't know what is good enough. Thanks for all the help in advance!
+ Show Spoiler +What is your budget? Budget not 100% set, I got money and don't really mind spending it. I'm going for a good price/performance ratio, so probably between 700-1000€. Can be higher too, if there's a good reason to be spending that much, but 1000€ should be enough to build a computer for my needs. What is your resolution? 1920x1080 What are you using it for?Basically gaming only, but I'd like to have the option of streaming some day as well without having to buy or upgrade the system all too much. What is your upgrade cycle?I'd like to buy this PC so that I wouldn't have to upgrade it for at least 3-4 years, apart from mandatory PSU purchases if/when it breaks. When do you plan on building it? I was thinking about buying it shortly, perhaps within the month. Basically to get it for diablo3. However, I read there is some new intel processors and what not coming up soon (some new architecture thing, probably not worth it though?) so I could also wait if there's some huge upgrades coming up and it doesn't make sense to buy some old stuff right now. Do you plan on overclocking? I'd like to overclock it yes, but I haven't overclocked CPUs and RAM before, only my GPU. However, I might as well learn to overclock it all, if it's not super hard (shouldn't be rocket science afaik). Do you need an Operating System? I have Windows XP Professional 32-bit which I could use for the new system, but I guess it's time to upgrade to Windows 7. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? I've got a feeling that this won't be necessary for gaming so I'm thinking no. Where are you buying your parts from? I live in Finland, and I was originally looking for components at http://www.jimms.fi/Komponentit. I don't think the site can be viewed in English so it might be a bit challenging to navigate there. However, I don't mind buying them online (from abroad) if there's a cheaper store out there, and any recommendations regarding this would be well appreciated, so you can use any other site. I was also looking at the prices from eBay but I don't think buying from the US is so great because the taxes have to be added.

You're going to have a heck of a lot of work ahead of you to come close to the functionality of PCPartPicker.com - which, while it does have some small quirks, is still very well done in many ways and immensely useful.
Maybe you could try to help that guy improve the website? *Insert something here about Open Source developers randomly working together to create awesome stuff*

So you mean an entirely new configuration right?
The new architecture coming out in late April is Intel's Ivybridge, you can see a preview of it in Anandtech's article: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5626
What you're looking for:
- 2500k / 3570k , you could also get a core i7 if you wish - 2600k / 3770k - P67 / Z68 / Z77 / Z75 (eg. http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/P67-PRO3-B3 or something in similar price range) - Radeon HD7970 > 7950 > GTX 560 Ti 448 > GTX 560 Ti > Radeon HD6870 (this depends on how much you want to spend) - Noctua NH-D14 or Thermalright Silverarrow (eg. http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/SILVER-ARROW ) - a nice case (eg. http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/0761345-82000-4 ) - 2x4gb 1333 / 1600MHz cas9 ddr3 memory - a quality ~500w unit (eg. http://www.jimms.fi/tuote/0761345-06204-6 , ask if you are unsure - don't buy a brand name randomly. fyi good PSUs don't break in four years).

Er, is that the modular hcg520? otherwise it's terribly overpriced...

I'm pretty sure jimms is not where you go for pricing and the above suggestions were more about products in general than specific deals, but I don't remember what the alternatives were.

Ok, lets give this a shot shall we :3 I am looking to build a computer this summer / fall ( I know that it is early, and HDD prices are still being retarded due to the flood and whatnot, but I am the type of a person that always needs to have at least a rough sketch of a plan... ) for gaming use. So I would be interested in hearing your suggestions for components.
So consider this as low priority.
+ Show Spoiler +What is your budget?
Budget 1000€ +/- 100€. preferably under 1k, but if need be, I can go to the MAXIMUM of 1100.
What is your resolution?
a single 1920x1080 screen for gaming. For desktop stuff and internet browsing I am going to be using dual screens (currently own one, will get another one -- not included in the budget).
What are you using it for?
Gaming (SC2, Minecraft, possibly Diablo 3, Tribes:Ascend, such. Modern games in general.) Watching movies, photoshop, and possibly some streaming.
What is your upgrade cycle?
Hopefully not in a couple of years. I am planning to keep this set up as long as it runs the current games at decent frames/quality.
When do you plan on building it?
Summer/Autumn 2012.
Do you plan on overclocking?
No real need to overclock. possibly some small adjustments with the GPU, but I will leave the CPU and RAM alone ^^
Do you need an Operating System?
No need for an operating system. I am currently in possession of such :3
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Nvidia cards, please. Had such good experiences with them. I currently have a GTS250. Is it possible to use it as a secondary card for the second monitor and/or for physics acceleration (Nvidia PhysX?). Other than that, SLi is most likely not necessary.
Where are you buying your parts from?
I live in Finland at the moment, but am moving to Scotland in the autumn (September time), so assuming I would build the computer then, the parts could come from UK region.
recycling parts and other questions
When building the computer I am using now, I happened to get a good deal on a 750W PSU .___. Of course I went ahead and bought it. Might have been quite a bit of overkill there, so I am wondering If I can use it in the next build? Would a higher-end performance computer run properly off of a 750W?
Also, I already have 3HDD's, and plan on acquiring more (I never delete anything, and I archive everything :D ), so it would be nice if the case had room for 3-6 HDD's easily.
Thank you already beforehand ~
