When you find a hacker, say gg and quit. Cheating is a way of life, it's how a large number of people get through school, get a good job, get promoted, etc. There is no avoiding it. As long as there is shallow, indecent people willing to trade integrity for material reward, useful things will always be abused. Saying Blizzard is vulnerable based on this is extremely ignorant.

On top of that there might again be exploits possible, like nuke hack or mineral hack, bugs in the game which programs can make use of. These things could be fixed, but it all comes down to Blizzard's motivation/money to do so -- in SC1, they don't seem to care about it anymore And should Blizzard include some extra program which sits in the background and monitors your running processes in order to fight hacks, then that program can be circumvented, much like personal firewalls -- if it runs on the same system it is useless against all but the simplest programs. I think this is already the case with some newer Blizzard games anyway.

Basically, all the game information that is stored on your system while playing is accessible for hacks. And having that information which is normally unknown is already enough to give the hack user a big advantage. And there isn't a way to prevent tampering with a program especially when it isn't running.

Nice revelation there Archimedes, for your efforts you get.. A NINTENTO SIXTY FUCKING FOOOOOOOOUUUR. Wait... I'm sure I didn't claim hackers will disappear in my post... How did this become topic of discussion? Let me clear this up, many seem to jump to the conclusion that I'm claiming SC2 will ship unhackable out-of-the-box. Please understand that's not what I mean't (nor wrote). What SC2 will undoubtedly have however, is the full attention of a team of guys dedicated to ensuring patches are applied as soon as these hacks surface. OK, maybe it won't be hack-free for a couple of days. But take the current situation for example. A new patch for bw comes out, then the new hacks, then quite soon after - the new ICCup launcher. And don't tell me you think the ICCup launcher isn't enough because you wouldn't be praising it in other threads and using it instead of bnet. I'm saying the user experience will be as close as possible to at least be hack-free 90% of the time. "I cannot believe he just said that" <- rofl yeah to'lly O_O omg apocalypse.

It's theoretically impossible to make a game crack-proof. The user has physical access to the machine he's playing on (um... duh?!), then he can cheat. End of story.
