I was confused too, but it makes sense. Right now 16 workers is most efficient, while 24 is maximum saturation. In LotV 12 workers will be most efficient while 16 is maximum saturation. So you start the game with perfect saturation for one mineral line, but not the maximum. 6 bases at 15 minute mark???? That just can't be right. Or maybe they are also reducing build time of bases by like 50% or so.
I'd suspect expansions will be cheaper and build faster? Just thinking about it makes me so hyped, it will be a different game quite frankly.

Lol, are we seriously getting balance whine already?
Gotta love the schizophrenic Starcraft community. Everyone wants change, but no one wants change.

Well based on the video, the point of the Herc is to prevent terrans from using the Siege Tank as a softcounter to Lurkers. Instead they want the Herc to "hardcounter" it by amoving...
Yeh, this kinda sound like Blizzard really had no idea what second unit they should give terran. It wasn't even like Blizzard showed any new micro interaction with it. Stalkers could blink back vs them, but they can do that vs every unit. It could attack a mothership core, but a couple of marines and a widow mine does that as well.

what i think after watching all these videos : We Protoss Are getting fucked in our own extension.

Just like Zergs in HotS and Terrans in WoL. Unfortunately this is the final iteration so we'll be the worst race from LotV on. After all this makes sense, Protoss already got the least medals in BW.

If they are willing to balance the game around bases being much cheaper and faster to build, then I don't understand why they aren't willing to redesign the Collosus.... or what about PDD of the raven.
You are gonna need to make so many changes to the races in order to get this new economy to work, and I don't have fate that Blizzard is competent enough to do this over a reasonable time period. The current economy really isn't as bad in itself as many make it out to be. Rather its the design of the units and mechanics in the game that are very poorly executed.

Got to say, was never a big fan of Sc2 balancing, and HotS just brought up new balance problems imo.
But these changes, I have to say, look really good to me. Sure, some minor adjustments are needed ofc, but in general most of them seem to favor good micro play... with also micro opportunities against them.
Finally they took care of the roaches being a dead end tech tree. The Hardened Shield change is also fantastic, finally micro needed!
However I don't like the invisibility of Nydus, this might be too strong against many tactics and favor base trades. Invulnerable should be enough.
The Cyclone seems to be a bit unbalanced as well. I'm missing strong weaknesses here: deals high damage to single target, built in moving shot, speed of a stalker (wow), lock on to deal more damage, big range, vs air and ground...
I don't get the economy changes yet, it's written a bit sloppy here and cannot find much information online..

If 12 was optimal, then that means there are 6 patches (as opposed to the 8 now), in which case 18 would be maximum and not 16.
If 2 of the 6 are closer another worker mining there might not give you anything.

awesome!!! zerg looks kinda op, we will see carrieeeeeeeeeeeeeeers!

This is like 40 pages of you just bitching and complaining. You even complained about the polls.
Get a life.

Gotta love the schizophrenic Starcraft community. Everyone wants change, but no one wants change. Come on Wolf, you and I have been saying it for like 4 years now. They change the number of workers or put a number over the town hall and everyone flips their shit. Remember when they added auto split?
Thats why I love Dota, the changes just drop right on our head, no built up, no balance test map. Just Bang, change, fucking figure it out. SC2 we need like at least 5 months of hang wringing before we can touch the beta. Then once the beta hits, 45 uninformed people will post long winded ideas on what is wrong with the game, even though they are not in the beta.
And the cycle continues.

To me it looks like they want to give Terran atleast more chance to do more with less. Which is good.
Hopefully it removes the incessant need to deathball everything and also the lower resources per base is a very good move.

? Just because I said I'm not enthusiastic about the changes I'm bitching and complaining ? So what, we have to say we're in love with what's being done even if some things worry us ?

No, the opposite.
It's catering to broadcasters and the BEST players — they realize that watching experienced, top-flight pro's build fucking workers for the first three minutes of the game is very boring, not a real indication of skill, and very predictable in 90% of all games.
It's about speeding up the early game and allowing people to make real decisions faster.
