Yes an online tour provided by an organisation of a few casters with a fairly samll prizepool vs one of the most well known and respected LAN events in the world. I wonder where the difference is. Get a functional brain, please.

There will also be no reason for WCS AM players to ever improve, because they'll be playing against Americans the entire time. There's no challenge. Qxc said it best when he said that they don't need the Koreans OUT of WCS, they need them to stick around consistently enough to raise the level of play. 2) Korea NEEDS another tournament. GSL is NOT enough to saturate the Korean scene and retirements will flood in like crazy if these changes are implemented. There is no chance for 99% of Koreans in GSL and there is no hope for anyone to come through. 3) The WCS finals will be an absolute joke of a tournament. It'll be Americans and Europeans, who had neither incentive nor possibility to improve getting absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the best of the best Koreans. That's not interesting. You can have that at any given foreign event. Blizzcon loses its status as the biggest finals of the year to just another weekend tournament where you'll already be able to narrow down the winner to about 5-10 players, depending on how many good Koreans make it. HORRIBLE changes in my opinion. I was asleep for this whole argument, but honestly thinking like that is incredibly short-sighted and based entirely around one dubious premise: that players won't improve when given better opportunity to do so. It seems like backwards logic to me. This whole idea that players can only get better if they play with Koreans ignores one really obvious question: how did the Koreans get good in the first place? It's a simple answer: they had the financial means to establish better training infrastructure. Living off ramen just to lose to a Korean in tournaments isn't incentive to dedicate one's self to reaching the same level as pro Koreans. Working to one-up your peers for a real chance to win money is. Right now there's no money to invest in real coaching staff like Korea does. EG tried it for a bit during the EGTL proleague stint with Coach Park, but that's about it, and they were only able to do it due to their lucrative position as one of the few profitable western teams.

Then they will just get slaughtered at season finals and international tournaments even harder than before. Seriously, GSL should now get ridiculously more money and points with all that skill and talent concentrated in one region. Wait, will there be season finals? That would be cool.

That worked out pretty well.

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/2fjw73/what_if_gsl_and_osl_ran_simultaneously_in_korea/ Definitely what Korea needs now is more opportunities to get points either through more Korean tournaments or more online ones.
