WCS AM will continue to include LatAm, Oceania/SEA, CN, and TW/HK/Macau, you can all stop freaking out about it.

What I've heard on the grapevine is that Blizzard intends to crack down on tournaments that are merely paying lipservice to the "qualification" rules and really just running invitationals with as few qualification spots as possible, when it comes to WCS points. Personally I've pushed them to abolish WCS points for all non-WCS events entirely, because I believe it's open to abuse and favours teams with large travel budgets or individually sponsored players. I doubt they will go as far as I'd like them to, but putting in place stricter rules that require more qualification spots for events that want WCS points would be a good step in the right direction. Events like Homestory Cup getting WCS points after inviting 24 of their players and only having 2 qualification spots for Koreans is ridiculous. IEM repeatedly inviting people who already have a ton of WCS points to begin with is a similar situation, though at the very least they have an open bracket, even though it's highly limited in terms of space and their formats are brutal. It's no coincidence that the highest ranked WCS players are also the ones that get invites to every events and have enough financial backing to travel to almost every foreign tournament.
