That is just outright false. Medivacs were fire and forget in WoL. You sent it to do it's thing and there was not much you could do to make it do it's job better. Make sure it isn't flying into a static defense and you're good. Now you have to cycle through all your drops making sure to use boost appropriately for the situation because the other races got goodies to deal with boosted medivacs. Dropping was easier in WoL it is harder in HOTS.

As a Terran, these are probably the worst options DK could go for. Both of them encourage random fluke over actual skill (e.g. desperate doom drop or miracle WM blasts). Medivac boost is already kind of silly as it is, but at least it's in a semi-reasonable place. Buffing it would make it downright stupid.

Blizzard could do so much better. A partial or full revert of stim nerfs could open up a whole new array of Terran early aggression options, for example, without impacting balance at mid-to-late game. That's the real problem, anyway; Terran's early game is at the mercy of the other two races, forcing either a very risky or more conservative play-style, both of which open up the race to a lot of exploitation. Giving Terran options to exploit early game greed impacts the whole game without having to make such crazy changes.

I would agree with you excerpt for Maru. There's never been better Medivac play than what he showed in some of his recent TvPs, picking up and dropping marauders behind colossi in the middle of a battle, etc. I've seen similar tricks from other top Korean Terrans like Polt and TY. Those kinds of tricks were jsut not possible in WoL before the afterburners were added. Whether that is "good" or "bad" is another question.


But have you seen someone drop in 7 places at once like Gumiho? I haven't.

Back in my day Creator had to defend hellions, medivac drops and bio run bys without a MsC core.

Back in my day VR had a speed upgrade and had to charge up to do ludicrous amounts of damage.

A terran buff that does not buff mech is a good one for me, let's do this! Widow mine at their original form were too strong, but they over nerfed it so that seems to be a good idea.

A ghost buff could also be a good idea, that way it would mostly affect late game while remaining early to mid game the same. I don't know how, but maybe make it a gas sink unit instead of minerals, or even a nuke buff could be a lot of fun, nuke are multitask heavy, reward positional play and entertaining for the viewers, it seems to be a good thing to improve so we could see it more.

Making drops actually be worthwhile in WoL was harder than making them do something in HotS.

If you wanted to make a drop good in WoL. You needed to do three other attacks. You needed a tank siege in the front. Another drop on the opposite side of the map. And a third harassment force running through. The coordination of multi drops is harder than these run and gun spam boost drops HotS players use now.

The only players who still do that now are Polt, Maru, TY, and Supernova.

Well back in WOL any type of multipronged harass was just impressive. The level of medivac micro and multitasking today, however, is leagues beyond what MMA/Gumiho did back in WOL.

But I can't wait to see Zergs respecting Widow Mines once again. That will make the matchup a lot more balanced and skill-intensive, and glad to see Blizzard are listening. Widow Mines are def. more fun to mix in than Hellbats.

I remember in beta they wanted to give WM detection on invisible units (without reviling them) it could help against DT or blink.

-Reduce stim research time
-make snipe vs ultras good again
-increase medivac boost duration (honestly everyone here fucking KNOWS FOR A FACT that trying to save your medivacs with the size of today's maps is impossible against muta)
-reduce speed of mothership core
-reduce oracle speed
-create a new upgrade that gives bunkers a static attack that doesnt require units to be inside.

I don't think that this kind of change for medivacs is good idea and IMO the less widow mines I see the better for the show.

Just remove stim nerf,maybe the widow mine to.That brings terran back to what it was around november 2013,and makes the game better overall,i'm tired of seeing some zerg make 50 banes and win anyways.

As much as I am always in favour of making harassbased play super strong, and thus I am a big fan of the Speedboost on Medivacs, I don't think the Medivac needs any more buffs. It's already the most insanely efficient harassunit in the game and I believe terran needs to be more costeffective in the midgame vs lots of Banelings, which a stronger Widow Mine can help with. It doesn't actually need to be able to drop better

I actually have never thought of that before, but that would probably be the best buff to the Medivacs assuming it should receive anything here. In general, however I do think there should be a bit of a risk to picking up units in Medviacs. You shuldn't be able to escape forever, but ofc with the current size of many of the maps, Speed Boost could perhaps have 1-2 second longer duration.

Why does the balance team so vehemently refuse to admit they might have made a mistake?

Revert ghost snipe (just no snipe vs massive), revert oracle speed, and maybe revert WM damage (or probably just go halfway) and see what happens.

How about taking it one step at a time. Un-nerfing stim would be a nice start. Then work on Terran's unused units such as the tank if further changes are still needed.

buffing unload speed but nerf speed duration a bit is a good deal.
