Could be that David just wanted to throw fuel on the fire? Or that this offering would be enough to appease the masses? I must admit, they are rather odd choices for things to buff... They needed a fast reaction to prevent the TL article from building momentum, so they just threw something out there to appease the masses.

I'm just not sure what needs to happen to convince some people that there is clearly a flaw in the game. You can't dismiss everything as "balance whine" when there are troubling patterns appearing in both Blizzards reaction and the results of tournaments. Its highly suspicious that all players of a certain race got significantly better all at the same time while another race is suddenly rarely seen.

Big, fat(err, maybe I should say, clunky), slow, can't win a straight up engagement... you name it. Ditch the Thor, I want Valkyrie and Goliath back.

The worst thing is if they aren't doing nothign at all. Thats why i think they should make this 2 buffs happen and we will see how it pans out in 1 month time, after that they can tune the changes a bit up or down or compleatly revert them and try something else.

Would you two disagree?

Thats why i think they should make this 2 buffs happen and we will see how it pans out in 1 month time, after that they can tune the changes a bit up or down or compleatly revert them and try something else. The problem is that they have a history of almost never reverting changes once they are put through, even when they are identified as problematic. Instead they try and do other changes to fix their bad changes and then we end up with even more of a mess. It was fairly obvious that the Queen patch in Wings of Liberty was problematic, but rather than revert it, they left it in and tried to work around it. Likewise with the million and one Protoss nerfs in WOL to try and fix 4gate vs 4gate. They ignored what the community suggested and instead did a whole bunch of rather questionable changes that not only didn't solve 4gate vs 4gate but also severely hurt Protoss's ability to do pressure builds against the other races and weakened them in the early game. And then there's the universally panned Oracle change, but no more analysis needs to be done on that. It was bad. Everyone said it was bad. They put it through anyway.

Imo the reason everybody is angry is the reaction time. For Blizzard only the sold units count, so they had no problem ignoring the mess sc2 was 1/2 year before HotS. This time we will see a few changes and then the next 1/2 year waiting period. We may see a few changes again, but it will be made clear that before the next expo nothing big will happen. Thank god for TL, which has a nice reach into the sc2 player scene. If sc2 is shown as boring and badly balanced, Blizz has to react.

I think if they removed the energy bar from thors and BCes it would already do more good than buffing drops via medivac and widow mines splash. Since toss and zerg are in a decent balance possition right now and terran is actually also good in early and midgame i would assume that only terran getting few tweaks in their late-game would be the appropriate step towards the balancing. Well thats my opinion at least. I've read the pro-opinions on changes, felt kinda weird reading that, cause i don't see how someone could still consider terran being to strong right now without single terran winning any big tournament for so long of a time.

Omg this x 100, for some reason I started replaying the firing sounds for both the autocannon and hellfire missiles in my head for the goliath, and they sound so fucking badass. Especially true in comparison to the dull thuds coming from both of the thor's weapons.
