Out of those haters at least half are utterly delusional about the balance. This feels like the Player Haters Ball. No wonder most democratic governments have a shit house congress.

In WoW, there was a character called the Warlock. He could win 2:1 and 3:1. But blizzard kept releasing balance patches. WoW has 10 classes but I saw as blizzard kept releasing buffs and nerfs. So what ended up happening was, people started playing Warlock when it was powerful but soon jumped to Hunter when that was proven to be powerful. One day I awoke to see that they were also doing the same thing to SC2." Reporter: I think you're referring to something other than balance. iloveoov: "Let's compare the two games; In SC1, they only released bug patches and was relatively untouched for ten years. We would do starleagues where at times there would only be one or two protosses. Terrans would occupy more than half the pool. If David Kim were there at that time he would have buffed protoss. That would have meant that we would have been without the exciting and awe-inspiring play of Bisu's prime. Protoss was the minority race and difficult. Thus, its play was given birth to by players like Reach and Nal_Ra. To be frank, I think it is David Kim who creates the winner when it is the gamer who must create the game. It doesn't matter what I say though; the truth is David Kim will keep on tweaking the game. I don't know what his true motives are. Is it to create a 5:5:5 of balance? I truly do not know." iloveoov makes a great point because even though it took wayy more years for BW to balance out than SC2 has been alive, it worked, and the game stayed alive until into the first years of SC2, that says something

How has this anything to do with the thread? Second, a lot of pros' perspectives are being ignored. Maru's best matchup is TvP, INnoVation mentioned in an interview that he never thought Terran was particularly bad, and the current rank 1 GM in Korea is a Terran. So the game is balanced because 2 players can win protoss? As for the # of players in each league, Protoss has more players in general so it's natural that it has more GMs (unless the balance is skewed against Protoss, which I believe is not currently the case), so the "omg look at how many toss gms there are" argument is bs. Thats actually complete bs. Theres almost the same amount of players for every race. I do think something needs to be done about Terran in order to make their mechanics a bit easier (I think their engagement micro is the most difficult among the three races). But at the same time I don't think anybody particularly thinks it's currently easy to face a Terran on ladder or a tournament as of now. Mistakes being unforgiven? What about Terran drops annihilating an entire mineral line because the player didn't pay attention for 3 seconds, think that's unforgiving enough? As a toss player, I have ~41% winrate against Terran in ladder and even in Korean forums like PlayXP, no Protoss player says "yeah Terrans are basically freewins on ladder. 1A ez" EVER. When have you seen a terran drop annihilate an entire mineral line on a good level of play? Its much more forgiving to play as protoss currently vs a terran because of the mechanics of the different races. Of course protoss players dont say that its easy to play vs terran. Ever heard of racial bias I have a lot of Terran players I like and would like a small adjustment to balance, as I think from tournament results they are a bit underpowered (although I suck at PvT personally), but it's not like the race is unplayable. People are too quick to exaggerate the state of the game The race isnt completely unplayable. Its just way harder than the other 2 races.

Finally a decent and constructive arguments regarding the weakness and fall of Terran in which it is very very nicely and properly written, so we can all as a community talk about this in a constructive and civil manner, without people getting banned lol. Thanks again OP, I love this article and read tomorrow after waking up.

On that note, drg vs innovation was amazing intrinsically, maru beating zest or something is amazing because a terran beat a protoss. My personal enjoyment of these games is simply drying up, and while it could be that the game is 5 years old or however long, it could also be because there is an elephant in the room whenever I watch, reminding me that locust vs laser is boring as shit the majority of the time, that no amount of fake hype* will ever improve the quality of the game, and that blizzard took something with so much potential, damaged it, and refuses to take the necessary steps to fix it. Until its possible to really have a "holy shit thats possible moments again (pretty much the majority of tvz's pre widow mine nerf, post hellbat nerf) then the hype surrounding it will always be fake. Building 6 collosus and melting an army simply isn't hype, slowly choking out an opponent with swarm hosts also isn't hype, Tasteless screaming "OH MY GOD, IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING" as a zerg rolls 50 banelings into an army isn't hype unless the terran micros like an absolute god, in which case the hype is incredibly one sided. Blizzard might recognise this fact when they wonder why it is that ssbm, a game thats 13 years old just about has more viewers for what isn't even there bigger tournaments (sktar 3, ceo, etc) then the gsl finals. Until then, enjoy Artosis commentating on how incredibly smart and technical making 3 oracles and blowing up a mineral line is. So fake.

To be honest I think a lot of people now are in denial of exactly how bad the situation is. I remember how it was back during WoL, Zergs would adamantly and foolishly defend their race tooth and nail with all kinds of absurd arguments to try and explain why their players where just more skilled and smarter then the others while the other races had players that where bad because they just looked away at the army for 1 second. Its the exact same thing now except people bringing up the most absurd justifications for why terrans in general are shit, under performing lately, under represented in GSL etc whith all sort of stupid arguments as to why Z and P players are so much better.

While the core of the message (Terran is struggling) is right, the tone of the article is nothing but poison to the community. I already stopped posting in most threads because it was Terrans all over the place who flamed and hated and whined to no extend. This does not belong here and you should be ashamed of falling in line and keeping the tone of those 15-year kids spamming the twitch chat. The editorial is not just biased, but also incorrect in many places. There was a video that proved how the hellbat drop was NOT overpowered, yet it was a VOD from after they nerfed the hellbats. I don't see any videos where second rate terrans where winning with just dropping 4 hellbats per medivac into mineral lines or widowmines one-shotting every worker. In fact, I don't see any attempts at looking at the issues at hand with a critical eye. I don't even feel like discussing the individual points that were made because it makes me sick to the stomach... It is a hate-inducing piece of shoddy propaganda and should not have a place here at teamliquid.net! The ladder already is a place of immature people flaming on every occasion, regardless of them winning or losing the game. And this just fuels the fire even more. Seriously: Your work is not appreciated and all your time wasted on this could have been spend in so many more meaningful ways.
