Now that they took away lots of early game offensive capability from terran, the match up shifts to protoss's favour just because now early-mid game is fairly even for both races, but late game tends to favor protoss more. Before this early-mid game was terran favored, while late game was protoss favored so it kinda balanced out. I still wish blizzard could balance this game such that TvP would be balanced throughout. Back in BW early game favored protoss slightly due to bio being weak vs protoss (that still didn't stop some players from going early rax cheese/aggressions), mid game would be slightly favored to terran as they finally have their mech tech and protoss probably haven't gotten the top tier units yet; and late game would be even and will depend heavily on micro and decision making.

And also from a moderator Regarding TL's policy on balance whining: ”Balance whining” isn't two absolutes – whining or not whining. There is more to balance discussions than just whining. You do not have to approve of the tone of the article, but equating a sweeping statement along the lines of ”Toss is shit race, sOs no skill only cannon rushes” to a 40-page essay detailing the difficulties of handling the Protoss race as Terran again only makes you look stupid. TL's policy on balance whining still apply, we do not and never have accepted the kind of balance statements that A) are not backed up by fact or B) propose no solutions and explanations for the current state of balance. This article, subjective as it is and whiny as it may seem, is one of the most in-depth articles on balance in SC2 ever written, and it is only fair that our policy be altered somewhat to reflect that. If Dwf had written this article without citing sources and any more negatively than he did, it wouldn't have been worthy of posting on Teamliquid. But the work put in and the facts that back it up more than make up for the downsides of this article. Elsewhere on TL, the policy on balance whining remains unchanged. If you cannot be constructive, your post is not welcome.

However this editorial is unnecessarily confrontational and is, to be blunt, insulting in many places. People get on board extremely easily with the "them and us" mentality; which means you create an unbelievably toxic environment with sides and everyone screaming at each other and yelling abuse. Just look at the state this thread has devolved into. Frankly I find this whole thing the exact opposite of constructive. You're never going to get anywhere when your strategy for garnering support for your position boils down to shouting "you're only doing well because your race is OP, my race is way harder so I'm a better player" at everyone else. Especially when you go on to lay the same accusations on their favourite pro players. Because like it or not, that's the ultimate outcome of these discussions. There is zero attempt to be constructive or to appeal for support; its merely creating sides by using language that people will instinctively react extremely badly to. You can quote all of the stats and numbers that you like. But ultimately how they're presented DOES matter. And the way this is presented is not going to change anyone's mind; instead its merely going to incite more hatred.

He had to pile hundreds of facts upon each other in order for protosses to concede that they might actually have an advantage or two. It worked.

Over all, i have found it to resonate with me, and the feelings i've head for SC2 for some time. Frustration, coin flip wins and loses, poor balance on the Terran side and broken promises of game play variety, mech TvP.

People have been arguing about how Terran needs a buff for months now and I don't think many can disagree now, its finally pretty convincing. That was terrible to spectate and I hope w/e buffs Terrans badly need comes in other areas. It wasn't dismissed. The article implies that it could have been handled differently if the Hellbat nerf was just meant for TvT.
