Unlikely. Apparently he hasn't laddered for a month or more.

Its like the 26 year old NFL player who retired recently, Mendenhall I think it was and people were also shocked and appalled but he had realistic reasons, he saw what the game does to your body and he didn't want his brain to be mush or legs/back to give him pain all his life. To him his peace was worth millions. Naniwa is probably asking himself is the grind worth the opportunity cost of doing things you love instead and the haters, as a Protoss going through the maddening frustration of dealing with Swarm Host just made the game not worth it, also the ridiculous clicking and work just to win in these free unit says maybe gives him wrist soreness and fatigue. Some things aren't worth it. He didn't 'quit' y'all Naniwa just needs a break and if he wants to wait for a new unit or nerfed SH then I think he should be able to do whats best for his body and mind.

I mean what would be his benefits? The other players are practicing no matter if he´s participating or not. And it´s unlikely that someone is checking his BOs. Plus his aversion to SHs is absolutely credible. We´ll see what happens next...

"If you don't like your job you should just put your head down and keep doing it and not try to find something you enjoy" - this doesn't sound like good life advance. Also "It's not what you want that matters it is what other people want" referring to your comment about the fans.

It might have a rampant lack of understanding where the money goes because no one in the scene wants to talk about this information, don't you think? This isn't even only regarding the money, it's basically impossible to know what goes on in the scene unless you are already in it, since very few people are open on how things work. I'm not even saying we need to know (I certainly don't need to know what Naniwa gets payed, for example, I don't really care), but I don't understand the whole "you're so stupid for being wrong I'm not even going to bother correcting you other than pointing and laughing, because you clearly don't understand"-thing. What good does that do?

What good does that do? TB has a point when he says that people don't understand about where the money goes. I see a lot of people saying "Well no one tells us the monetary situations of esports teams so how are we supposed to know?" which is true but then people try to make points with assumptions on financial situations that they know nothing about, so I can kind of see TB's frustration with that.

If it's a job that he doesn't enjoy, why should he weigh his fans' feelings over his own? He provides entertainment and competition, and there will still be strong foreign players without him.

I'm sure Yea but I'll bet hes not giving that money back that he 'earned' while 'finding his motivation'. I don't know the details of his contract but I would assume he would have some duties that would involve streaming or earning his keep somehow. Apparently he hasn't played a single ladder game in a month.

Apparently he hasn't played a single ladder game in a month. If he did breach his contract at all he is legally obligated to return the money actually if Alliance chose to go that route. However, Naniwa hasn't streamed much during his entire tenure on Alliance and I'm guessing he didn't actually breach his contract at all. So Naniwa probably didn't really do anything wrong even though he took a break.
