I really hope that there will be tournaments for this in the future, so that all your hard work in this gets validated with a community and competitive scene in some capacity. Not expecting a StarBOW GSL, obviously.
Hehehe I think it could have that quality competitive scene if there were sponsors.

there's this guy who sponsors korean bw and sc2 named Sonic, i have no idea if he'd be interested but it would be cool if so.
All units with energy (except macro units) now start with 50 energy. Corsairs and Battlecruisers now have 200 max energy.
Energy upgrades to increase starting energy from 50 to 62 and max energy from 200 to 250 have been added to many units. Most of these upgrades affect two units at a time. This is true for: High Templar/Dark Archon, Science Vessel/Ghost and Viper/Defiler. Same energy-upgrade given to Arbiter. All of them cost 150/150 and takes 138 seconds to research.
Fixed a lot of bugs. Stalker attack speed, Goliath attack speed, Merc's randomly auto-grapple and some more I've forgotten. Thanks to LotV Alpha Custom mod people for helping with the Merc bug.
Terran
Firebat size reduced. Firebat now cost 50/25, and only have 50 hp. Still has 1 armor, but now counts as a light unit. Its stim will now only drain 10 life. Firecone is now extended with a 50% and a 25% zone.
Upgrades for science vessel now moved to the fusion core.
Protoss
Carriers now start with 0 interceptors.
Interceptor speed reduced from 5.8 to 5.5. Upgrade added to fleet beacon to increase interceptor speed to 7.5 (BW value).
Scarab build-time increased to 10 seconds. Upgrade added to bring them back to 6 seconds build-time again. And just FYI, max amount of scarabs per reaver is 5. (Been that for a long time in Starbow).
Zerg
Viper cost reduced from 100/150 to 100/100. Supply cost reduced from 3 to 2.
Eruptor damage increased from 20 to 35. Attack period increased (nerf) from 2.2 to 2.6. Life amount decreased from 125 to 80. Armor type changed form armored to medium.
Some explanation. For the Eruptor and Firebat, I made a VOD talking about units with high burst with some fragile element to it being interesting game design. Watch here:
Reaver upgrade is there to make it so you can't just sit for a long time and attack and still have scarabs. Right now, the 5 max scarab restriction does very rarely kick in as a restriction with the auto-make scarab ability. This brings it back without having to just click a lot. All the energy stuff is to add some consistency to the game. Vipers may be OP now, time will tell, but they should not be more expensive than a defiler. That makes no sense at all. We'd rather nerf the spells then if needs be.
Btw, this is the "1.0" patch unless we find any big flaws and errors before the 30th. This does not mean that there won't be more patches, just that future patches will be much more fine-tuning in numbers with few to none new upgrades or abilities.
In my honest opinion, Starbow looks so much superior than HOTS and LOTV. Too bad, theres not much support from Blizzard/ players. This the only thing stopping me from playing. Imagine if Starbow is LOTV that would be awesome. Starbow will most likely appeal to those korean BW players.
Currently, it kinda saddens me to see BW on afreeca has more viewers than HOTS. Imagine if Blizzard can get them to switch to LOTV that would be the golden age of SC2 especially those Korean big names.

I played Starbow for a bit, but I found it so similar to brood war. The brood war players just owned face all day, it was like I was starting 10 years behind them in meta knowledge. I don't know if it's changed since then, I'll try it out again this summer, especially since the 1.0 patch is out.
Lol, these viewer numbers of BW players correspond to afreeca that means that this is the total number of viewers all other the globe, while viewers of sc2 progamers on twitch correspond to only non corean viewrs (+bw has no professional players thats why the only thing they are doing is streaming, while such superstars as herO, Maru, Life etc. just cant stream due to their contracts and nonstop training)

This. If I wanted to play BW, I'd go back and play BW.
Nostalgia has it's place..
All I see this doing, is actually diluting the player base. Very few people are going to come back into lotv/sc2 laddering due to starbow, it's just a divisive thing that will split the community. I understand what you're trying to achieve, but to market it as an alternative to ladder is wrong imo. It's really just a fun arcade game for people who want to re-live the old glory days.

DOTA and CS are both more popular than their main games ever were, it's fine to have the ambition of making SB more popular than regular ladder. I never really played SB, but it sure seems more interesting than what blizz are doing (or not doing rather...) with LOTV.

It is not diluting the player base. If people want to play Starbow instead of regular SC2, then it means that they don't want to play SC2. I don't want to raise the stupid discussion "which game is better", and SC2 is a great game, but I personally don't like to play it and if it was not for Starbow, I would have not open SC2 client for more than a two years already. If there was no Starbow, all these players would have go to play some MOBA, return to BW or stop playing at all. Starbow just became better alternative for those who, for some reasons, don't like regular SC2 as well as BW. For example, for me BW is too mechanically hard to play, I have connection issues with ICCup and I like new additions that were made in Starbow, that's why I play it.
And also you are overestimating Starbow influence on the community quite a lot.
As for the goals: there is nothing wrong with high ambitions (as well as trying to playing Starbow competitively) . Also, if you seriously consider Starbow as a competitor to regular SC2 (which is not), competition is always better than a monopoly, it makes competing parties to work harder to improve their product, which benefits the consumer (in our case, regular players). But I'll say again, Starbow is not a competitor to SC2. The scale of the products just isn't the same. I only hope that Starbow can achive a constant playerbase of few hundred players, even that will be massive win for me.

It has been (mostly) translated and we will very announce it on Korean community pages. (I'm just waiting for the translator to come online).
Meanwhile, here's Ardi's full length Starbow Beat highlight video. Keep in mind that some of these clips are old and contain things no longer in the game:
Question, what is the easiest way to find games? the chat channels are always empty and at one point I downloaded the "ladder" but only like 6 people were online and none responded.
The ladder has seen a bit of growth the last couple of days, and you don't need to download anything anymore. Go to: http://eros.starbowmod.com/ (you need to sign in at starbowmod.com first, and make sure you do NOT have the old client open or they will collide and mess each other up).
