Check lineups each week! Players facing weak teams are generally more valuable.
Don't make trades just for sake of making trades, as they cost you trade tax points and you may get stuck with a player you don't want
The trade price formula takes into account number of matches remaining -- so players with more matches remaining will have higher prices
You must trade for players with less value, but try to minimize the value loss. For example, if you trade someone worth 30 for someone worth 20, next week you can only trade the 20 for someone less. It's much better to trade the 30 for someone worth 29.
Groups
You will be able to create and join groups so you can compare your results with a smaller subset of the players, for example there might be a Staff Group, a First Time FPL Group, a USA Players Group, or a group created by you with just your friends.
Easy choices. For anti, Flash is nub, Stork is busy playing mobile games, and well I dunno, someone was saying Nestea probably wont even get to play anymore for IM... Hence the choices.
As for the main team. I'm banking on CJ and Prime to do work. 3 top-notch players from CJ so I just hope they get to play and have a 66%+ winrate. Then I picked the two best players on Prime which means guaranteed playtime, and they are also players who should be the ones winning. Hopefully it was a wise decision. Added in Zest for guaranteed playtime on the KT bench. Also he's protoss, and they have been doing pretty well, so I think it's a safe bet.
I noticed there are some players (Barbie & eins) and a team (Prime) that actually cost 0 points to add to your team. Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I don't think that has ever been done before, and I'd love to hear the reasoning for the decision. They are considered even worse than a normal b-team no-namer?

Barbie is a female player. I don't mean this to be a sexist kind of comment, but that alone makes it unlikely that she'll ever be fielded. On top of this, several of Prime's b-teamers have terrible records. Take a few minutes and look at their Aligulac pages and I think you'll find that very few, if any, have match-ups above 50% win rate, many of them at 0%. Not only that, but Byun isn't even playing (right now) and Creator is far from where he was, leaving them with no competitive ace and a very shallow line-up. I unfortunately feel like if Prime finishes anything but distant last this season it'll be a huge surprise. I imagine monk's reasoning was similar.
I decided to go for good players from each team, primarily tosses because PvProleague. I think the consistency of sOs, Trap and Classic will edge me ahead combined with the reliability of Hydra and Bbyong (CJ seem to be in good form lately). Picked Terror because I needed a 2 pointer and he is playing the first week. Team IM because they have lots of good protosses at only 3 points cost.
Anti was easy, MVP Shine has never been consistent, Creator has slumped all of HoTS so that left me with the need to get a 5 pointer and this is where the real dilema hit. TY is wicked good when he is on, but can be abysmally poor when off, so I went with him, even though I know I could regret it later.

It's been done in bw fpl before. In bw, I believe Air Force ace was worth -1 a few times.
Also I'm aware of the race problems. For now please pick with race restrictions in mind, that is sorry should be t and emotion should be p.
Also, I'll see what I can do about actual prizes for this season.

Oh wow, that's harsh D: Makes me kind of sad for Ace, even though such a score was probably pretty reasonable.

Yeah but he's not in the lineup so it could still be a bad deal. Like Sacsri and Dark are in good form and may be the best players pound-for-point (I made that up) at a measly 2 but T1 is too stacked and the series too small. :/
Do I understand it right that if a player in my team is sitting on the bench I get a point? I base it on "**This counts for all players on the team's roster, even if they did not play in the match"
So Sora is my captain because I met the kid at WCG and he s a really nice and talented guy (and he s from CJ). Picked Soulkey cause he s good and he came to have drinks with us! Hero and Byong because CJ will win all! Same for the team choice (fan boyism, sorry). And picked Barbie for fun (and also I had no points left). Because it would be damn awesome if she could win even one single game!
Anti team, well I hope they won't do too well (I feel so mean for just saying that
EDIT: oh god I almost forgot about Fantasy, I picked him for what he was in BW, and hoping oov's coaching can bring the power out from him...

If a player is listed in the weekly lineup (here's this week's), you get a point, even if the match ends too early for them to actually play. If a player's team wins the overall match, all players on that team get a point whether they were listed in the week's lineup or not.
The player links for on the FPL feature should to /hots not /sc2-korean. Also, there is a bug on /proleague/Entry.php where it displays the sidebar in the content area.
has anyone picked prime as a team yet? If I was even a little confident in them for 0 points they'd really free up the ability to get another really good player
EDIT: I see someone on the previous page did, the balls on that man (or girl I suppose)
On December 28 2013 06:50 TheTopQuark wrote: Are player/team point values being updated on a weekly basis?
Yes, each week values will be changed to reflect their performances. The original costs of each player from the beginning of the round will not change, but each player/team will also get a "trade value" based on their original cost, performance, etc. that involves mathy stuff.
And yeah, Sora will probably be the most picked player
On December 28 2013 08:39 Ammanas wrote: But really. Can I pick up CJ.Hush without expecting too many problems? Cause he is not a Zerg player and definitely isn't worth only 1 point, imo.
His rating isn't very high, but that's not necessarily too reliable an indicator. His vP isn't so hot, but he did go 2-3 to Sora 2 months ago. Overall, I'd pass, but you can judge for yourself.
Him being one point makes things better, I suppose. And he is on CJ Entus which everybody expects to win a lot. So I don't know.
For the team, we all know CJ Entus will rock this season. As for the others, Yonghwa has a tradition of playing well in team leagues, same as Keen. And we all know that sOs makes the sexiest builds to snipe some nerds, so he is the captain.
As for the anti-team, sorry Soulkey, you are now a T1 Zerg. Creator is playing so bad recently that he will not be the Prime's ace: that will be Byun. Salvation is just a filler.

KT combo for free points. Coca and MVP are great low points players who can win matches easy. HerO will probably have a lot of games. Let's see how RorO will be doing. IM for heart
Anti Team : Trap has yonghwa and HerO in his team, Classic has Rain and Parting. Super because i needed 5 points to complete.

I'm hoping for jinair to do well, and MVP to do poorly. This can easily backfire, and I can see myself doing terribly. I'm more worried about jinair sucking than MVP doing well, though DRG on anti is not something I'm happy with. Also, I'm choosing to ignore the hype around sora, and sticking to squirtle instead, we'll see if this comes back to bite me as well lol.
Edit: Maybe replacing rogue with sora, and using some 1 cost guy, not sure yet :O
For example, Mvp is at 3 points, which I think is ridiculously low, except he doesn't play this week. But if he does play both matches next week, will his value increase to like 6-8 (because he is clearly at that level), or will it be a smaller increase, like 3.5?
I'm wondering if I should get him anyway while he is cheap.

It's not 2011 anymore But it will be probably smaller increase, depending on points earned.

Talk about expectation. Week 1 lineup can quite reflect how frequently one player could be fielded, except for Fantasy (cuz T1 has too many heavy hitters), RorO (he also disappeared for some time last year iirc) and (to a lesser extent) PigBaby.
For Mvp specifically, when was the last time he performed in teamleague? beating Bomber on TDA in '11 maybe. And the fact that IM maxing on tosses? and the fact that he plays WCS EU? You decide man

Well, you are probably right, it just seems wrong that Mvp is valued at 3 when comparing his skill level to other 3-pointers. It's easy to overlook the fact that he might not bring that many points to the team despite his skill.

Trade values increase based on victories and losses, not whether they are in the lineup. Therefore, I would wait until he's actually in the lineup before getting him ^^

Well chances are close to 0 that we will ever see him getting playtime. Plus every good team needs a motivator, and who would be a better one than Barbie!?
Except for the CJ stars, every player I chose is either playing twice or is on a team that plays twice. This gives me the opportunity to gain the most freebie team win points if all goes well. Also, I could stand to lose the most :S
A bit hard this time. Soulkey is probably the only Zerg I'd feel comfortable in picking, but I can't find enough points for him. And I must of course make sure that I can trade in Fantasy as soon as Oov has whipped him into shape.

I feel the same, picked Terror out of hope he turns out to be really good and for value. Terran also sucks, I have faith in Fantasy turning things around this season however.
I feel the bravery inside me... I couldn't have myself pick Flash because its simply too safe, so I picked DRG in hopes of the true dong shining strong in this Proleague
Maru is a must - seems relentlessly hardworking and still room for improvement especially now that he's in a kespa team environment. Mvp - i think proleague format will suit him perfectly. His intelligence and ability just to win makes him a steal at 3. I think DRG is relatively easy to snipe and MVP will struggle a lot. I don't mind being proved wrong though
Note that signups are closed manually. In the event they are closed late, keep in mind teams entered or modified after the deadline will be disqualified!
Is there any chance that a "% owned" category could ever be added to the system? I've seen it in football fantasy leagues, and I'm always curious about the number of people who have main or anti teamed the popular proleague players.

There isn't a % owned, but you will be able to see the straight up numbers on each player, including "on main team", "on antiteam", "bought", and "sold", and also order the list of players by each metric.
Happy birthday! I hope herO does well too, since I also got him
Oh, that's even better, thanks bacon! I was hoping that he had not gotten too hyped up and I could get him for cheap, but alas the FPL staff is ahead of the curve.
Ugh I'm at -2 after day 1, but my roster is heavy with players on day 2. Was really rooting for Hero though. I also spent a ton of play money on him at egamingbets. Oh well, I just hope he gets fielded often this season.

I think Coca is slightly more likely to play but slightly less likely to pull in bonus points from his team's wins. I guess it's the name value
sacsri and dark are competing with players like fanta, soo and classic for the last playtime slot while jin air has two slots which are pretty flexible, and coca is probably their second string zerg. he'll see play.

CoCa will definitely get play time.
and he's a cheap pick. one who doesn't cost much but has potential to score some points.
sacsri will at least get some points from SKT winning.

Coca will definitely get to play. There are 4 players competing for spots #3 and #4 on the lineups - Terminator, Rogue, Pigbaby and Coca. I believe they will be alternating a lot.

I have a problem with creator : he has 1pt. 1 for lineup, 2 for game won, 1 for ace selection, -2 for ace loss. He should have 2. I guess he got double dipped with -1 for game loss AND -2 for ace loss? Thats a bug ! In that case since he was on the lineup twice why not give him 2 pts for 2 lineup appearances...
Could have 3, should have 2, has 1. Or did i miss something?
Eing selected as an ace usually couldnt make you lose points. When was this put in place? Worst case they broke even last time i checked :-o too risky ><

Is that right? So a player only get a point for ace selection if he's NOT already in the regular lineup? If so I might have to trade Creator--one of the reasons I chose him is because I feel like he's going to be Prime's ace whenever they have an ace match, but he's always going to be in their regular lineup too so then ace is not as valuable...
On December 30 2013 05:28 R1CH wrote: Ace appearance gives 0 points (OP was wrong) since you already get the +1 from regular appearance too.
If a player does not appear in the usual lineup but is sent for ace, does he still get the appearance point? That is to say, is the appearance point for normal matches only, or for both normal and ace matches, but only counts once?
Anyway this new way of counting changes FPL strategy by quite a bit, as picking an ace is riskier if he doesn't perform.

you sure about this? I thought FPL points always have worked like that. cause otherwise ace match loss completely denies "regular" wins which to me makes no sense.
plus having not said that in the OP, the drafting for "serious" fantasy players would have been different, since i picked creator for his ACE point potential over other good 4 pointers. Now me having creator is hella risky as he will most definately play as ace, but might not make points at all.

It is not really a bandwagon if you can get a really solid player for 4 points who in the worst case scenario only wins around 50%.
But who the fuck takes TY on their antis? I think that is suicidal

Hu ? Am I correct in understanding the following :
So you get 1 point for appearing in a regular match, AND 1+0 point for appearing again (+1 regular appearance, +0 specifically for the ace) ? You get your +2/-1 for the non ace match. Then for this Ace match you get either +3 or -2 (but not added to another +2/-1),
Head hurts. what's the difference with the usual +1 regular appearance, +1 ace appearance -_- Complicates things needlessly ? Or have I missed something ?
Bolded part is confusing to me, it makes me think for ace scoring you add regular scoring for the ace match and ace match scoring.
Both Flash and Stork earn me 1 point only . But I have faith in Flash bringing me many points. Stork on the other hand . .maybe Maru is too imbal . So I hope for best
On December 31 2013 00:12 opterown wrote: ace appearance is now +1 point, OP was corrected incorrectly
The OP is correct, you still don't get any points for ace appearance. Regular appearance is counted when appearing for ace, just like regular win / loss. All the ace scoring is in addition to regular scoring.

The scoring internally and the scoring outlined in the OP are different. Just ignore what I said and go by the (again edited) OP.

How does that work and where can I read about points system?
In first post? :D Flash appeared in roster, so it's +1. He lost, so it's -1, you have 0 already. But KT won, so it's +1. And he's in your anti-team, so it's -1 instead of +1. Easy.

try to pick 3 players around the 3-6 range that you think will do poorly compared to the other guys there is one strategy. another strat is picking one ace-level player and two noobs, and hope the ace really chokes.

Thanks, I thought I read that Ace appearance won't award a point in this FPL. I was probably too tired to understand, and by tired I mean drunk.
Was it a mistake not picking players from teams that play twice this week? Or even the teams. It seems somewhat unfair that you can trade after the week and some teams have played twice. O_o Or am I missing something?

no, not at all! you might get a slight lead in the first week, but the teams that play once this week will be playing twice in the next, and vice versa. it shouldn't make much of a difference at all.

Players with less games remaining will lose a bit of value...

no problem, you can't really trade players who played twice since the trade points accounts for the amount of games left to play.
I hate that I done this to me. I picked MVP as my team but all they are doing is losing They cost 3 $ but soon MVP is worth of 2$ anymore and then 1$ (

R1 of SPL last year was dominated by KT allins, they changed it after that.

The first sc2 round was pretty funny with everyone at the top rocking the KT lineups
Yea Byul doing good in week1. But SPL is not only about week 1, so everything is still uncertain .
My wish : Flash perform well starting next year : Stork get better each time : Jila will become Monster. : Sniper able to becoming better and better. : TY becoming a must in every KT match, just like Flash. His sidekick? : Squirtle evolving to next level.
Ah, I am curious about week 2 lineup. Flash looks so sad after he lost that game vs Sora. .

next time i'll get players from teams that play twice in the weeks. everyone at top has IM / SKT players. and as they're worth a lot now, they can be traded away easily to the teams that play twice next week. just need some good prediction skills while doing such strategy. xD

Well, xpaperclip got the lineups from last week here. So if you can read Korean, that site in general should have everything.
Rain - Will face hot ByuL Solar - Up against Zest. It's ok Squirtle - Soulkey in the fourth game Sora - Played twice! ..but against RorO and sOs, and both in the fourth games of the series Bbyung - Nope Pigbaby - Nope T1 - One match
RorO - Will lose against both Sora and Stats. No worries Byun - haha DRG - hihi
ByuL for sOs (ByuL only plays once, and it's against Rain; Sora will be tough but sOs undervalued now and I'm going all-in on my Jin Air investment)
YongHwa for Reality (YH only plays once, and it's against the best PvP in the world (PartinG); Reality plays twice, neither Hydra nor TY are terrifying, and from what I saw of him in WCS KR, Reality is a little undervalued)
I didn't get him because he doesn't have much synergy with my team (since KT is playing Jin Air this week) but I have a feeling Zest is a good pick for W2.
Edit: Poor DRG now only appeared in 1 out of 3 MVP matches; doesn't seem like they have a lot of confidence in him. If Hydra crushes face this week I'll regret being a hipster nerd and not taking DRG for my anti-team like seemingly everyone did.
oh god, two of my anti-team players are playing twice brb heart attack PartinG --> Zest SKT --> KT (anti) Reality --> Classic I'm keeping Stats on my anti-team I guess ._. I might change my mind
Bbyong -> Dream: playing once is better than nothing, plus I think he'll murder Terror and MVP will win that
Stats -> Byul : this one hurts since I like Byul so much and really thought he was underrated coming into this. Playing only once and against Rain on what looks like a pretty good protoss map is too good not to have on anti though.
Now I'm debating whether I should trade Soulkey for Hydra. The ROI for Soulkey has been disappointing so far, but he's probably the best Zerg in the league. Yet, Hydra could be good in the short-term and down the line he's probably going to be played just as much for CJ as Soulkey is for SKT. Decisions decisions...
On January 03 2014 20:16 FrostedMiniWheats wrote: Bbyong -> Dream: playing once is better than nothing, plus I think he'll murder Terror and MVP will win that
^This
Squirtle -> Rogue: Playing 2 times, against managable opponents.
Reality -> soO: Playing only once and against opponent I don't think he will beat.
Why on earth sOs and Flash have higher trade value than Soulkey?
Meh, I consider trading Bbyong out, since he doesn't appear this week in either of 2 games, but the only viable options are Keen and Dream, so I'm not sure.
I'm also considering swapping Soulkey for Hydra, since he has 1 more game and is guaranteed to play, while Soulkey is in 4th spot again, and might not do so good against Squirtle. Plus I have both those guys on my team (Soulkey and Squirtle). Additionally I think it might be a good idea to trade Squirtle for Kal, mostly due to hype, but Kal showed some good stuff so far and is guaranteed to play in every match. Any suggestions guys?
Main team Bbyong OUT => KeeN IN 2 weeks in and no sign of bbyong, i didn't pay for this, also keen seems to be fielded in a lot ! and he's not bad vs protoss.
Anti Super OUT => Stork IN AHAHAAHAHAHA LOL STURK. Saw him in some online qualifiers about a month ago he got his ass kicked twice by an unkown european player so yeah...he ghanna get raped.
I was thinking about this too and decided to keep herO since he's more likely to be fielded in ace matches. (and has 1 more game left to play than Soulkey)
herO is going to play Stork, so his win and CJ Entus win is highly expected. Also he's going to face Maru, so, total different result to previous line is expected as well. So, in the worst case, you're not getting anything. In best case, which is real (at least, 1/2 wins and 2 CJ Entus wins), it's ok to have him.
Hydra is playing ZvP and ZvT, and i'm not sure that he will beat Reality, so it's same result as herO.
Soulkey is playing only once, but there are tons of things. Ofc, we're expecting SKT T1 to win. Soulkey is playing 4th, and PartinG, Rain and soO can finish everything before he plays, even though i think that Trap will beat soO. Also Soulkey-Squirtle will be played on Yeonsu, so chance of some kind of all-in is highly expected and Soulkey has already lost to Kal.
But if you want to risk - ofc. (there is no information about ace matches, but i'm not expecting Soulkey to come in ace, as well as Hydra. herO or Effort will play ace for CJ Entus probably and PartinG or Rain - for SKT T1).

Link to my post My point in doing hero -> soulkey/hydra and soO -> Kal was to ditch soO and get Kal who has 2 matches and I believe will do good overall. To do that I need another zerg to replace soO so I have to trade one of my protosses for a zerg.

Why Roro is the most picked? I noe RoRo win OSL before. So I am wary of picking him.
I picked Hydra because I noe nothing about him hahahaha.
Any1 picked SOS as anti?
Anyway, this is only week 2, so it is hard to predict. Because, seeing the Champion lose 2 games, I just feel this is not his true worth? Need more time to judge ur FPL.
So maybe RoRo will perform bad after this.
Maybe CJ will perform better from week 3 . Then I will be sad.
Maybe Flash will play better soon. I remember Flash vs TY & Flash vs Innovation last year.
He doesn't look lost in his games. Now TY still perform as good as I remember him. But Flash seems playing a little bit bad, after he went to Thailand vacation after SPL.

It's Samsung. They'll keep sending Stork out as long as he's in their roster. I wonder if he can beat his long ass losing streak last season.
ByuL pls. One of my biggest regrets so far is not picking him. Tomorrow shall be fun, sOs vs Sora, win win situation there either way. But come on Jin Air, I need more points from you than I do CJ.

I should've stuck with my original FPL list (had Byul on it). I last second switched to a different one. Oh well, that's life, I just have to deal with it.
Have sOs as team captain, still in middle of the pack :D #believe But will have to work with trades srsly next week, it's getting out of control. At least anti-team works nice and don't steal everything like Roro or Sniper does.

My anti team have not cost me any point yet. I wan to end week 2 with -0 point.
Hydra game tml is important.

Stork earn me 2 points kkkk. As long as he is regular he will help me earn some tips. Hope stork will win next week. Of course, he must be field out first.

u please RoRo to lose. He will work extra hard not to lose.
I have a really important question concerning the scoring system in the round playoffs: Does the scoring continue by sticking to the original rules? If yes, I think that might be a problem. Think about it: Only players and teams that play in the playoffs are still able to score you points while all others cant. This way players from bad teams get way less attractive while players from good teams get way more attractive for the main team due to the different ability to score further points in the playoffs. Same counts vice versa for the anti team. And then players from bad teams will be way too expensive (in terms of trading points) compared to the ability to score points due to the playoffs.
This will lead to a decline in variety of the FPL rosters (everybody will try to get mostly players from good teams since the point scoring abilty of the other players is not adequately reflected in their trading points), which is a bad thing in my opinion. Honestly I dont have a solution yet, since I just noticed that problem. So are you going to make any changes or is it just the way it is?

Any secret to trading?
It feels like losing out of not learning to do trading.
A couple of tips are to check who's playing for teams on a specific week, sometimes you can trade someone with a very close point value playing once for a double playing player. Trading someone not playing for someone playing is always positive potential point value, even better if they're on a more solid team that will make up with team points if they lose their match. Weigh that against their record though, some players in non-favored matches on non-favored maps MAY not be worth it, unless you want to gamble on a cheese play.
For week 3 I traded: Creator for HerO (IM). Creator's personal play looks okay but I don't like his chances against RorO after how crushed he looked after his loss to KeeN. HerO is playing twice--I think he'll beat Hydra, who has looked kind of like a punching bag, and has a shot against Flash, whose TvP doesn't look so hot to me.
Reality for Squirtle. Reality is not playing this week. Squirtle is playing twice--he is a good PvPer and has a shot against Sora, and if KT doesn't 3-0 IM I have to believe he can beat this Action guy.
My team name is "CJ/SKT T1 vs the world". This week they are facing off, but I will only have PartinG vs herO[jOin] playing against each other. Really sad I didn't trade Bbyong last week for someone like Dream. Now it looks I'll be stuck with him. And he's my only Terran.
Tough matches coming up for herO - playing against YongHwa and PartinG. Wouldn't be surprised if he loses both. But then he might win both just as well
PartinG playing against Flash and herO. He should win at least one of these games.
sooo pretty much the options for trading roro off anti are gamble on soo against myungsik, or pray khan 3-0's prime so solar doesnt get to play.... whats the call there?
TEAM Trap OUT => Squirtle IN Trap does not play and IM plays 2 times along with squirtle (also squirtle is as good as trap )
ANTI Stork OUT => Mvp IN Mvp will not play (or maybe once ? ) and since he's going to europe for wcs i bet we're not gonna see him soon. Even if stork sucks really hard (yes really hard ) he faces kassia ( WHO ? ) he'll probably win for once.
considering Trading Trend for Ruin, not sure about it tho.

I feel like trading teams is often a lot riskier than trading players because if a player trade doesn't work out you can typically find some other valuable player for next week that's lower rated to trade for, maybe someone who happens to play twice, maybe someone who happens to have a weak opponent. For teams that's just not the case.
The one time I consider trading for soO in my anti he and SKT loses. KT win means my point haemorrhage from Flash continues to be fatal. At least Sora and CJ won. Just gotta pray Creator beats RorO, who knows maybe Prime can pull off a miracle D:
13th place for me now. Never been this good. I think my past top placement was around 50, so I'm feeling somewhat proud.
TY has been a great choice. Fantastic builds every game, really enjoyable to watch.
CJ performing this week was the big gain, though. Trading Fantasy for effort turned out to be a good choice, and Sora won too. Even my biggest let-down, Bbyong, got a point from CJ winning. Happy week, definitely.
In some stroke of pure genius, I managed to trade Terminator for Squirtle this week. Keep in mind, I already had Sora on my team AND Sora played against Squirtle loooooooooool
Oh well..Maru, TY, and Savage are still carrying my team
Maru and Rogue still kicking butt, I'm back at #6.
After seeing his micro, decisionmaking and bravado against Super, I'm calling it: Maru is the best Terran in the world, flat out. Sorry Bogus. Sorry TaeJa. Now I just need Squirtle and HerO to come through against KT.

Although Maru has a strong case I'm not totally convinced yet. TY has been playing pretty fucking well lately.

If you're talking best Terran in Proleague so far I agree TY has as good a claim as Maru. But TY has no success in individual leagues in SC2 at all, while Maru has an OSL championship, Blizzcon Top 4, etc... To me for best Terran in the world the conversation is between Maru, INnoVation, TaeJa and Bomber. Flash, Polt, MMA, etc I think are not QUITE on the same level yet, or at least haven't proven that quite yet.

Same situation. But I've got soulkey, and he ain't above 10 either. So no big difference for you there anyhow Maru tho, wrecking proleague.

Well, since RorO is doing quite well this round, enough people may put him in their main teams next round, thereby making RorO an excellent pick for the anti-team.

I would have gone for Flash if I knew Soulkey would be played on the 4th map and would lose this much.
Edit: That's despite being in top 40 based on Main Team rankings.

I traded Soulkey for Hydra before last week, as I thought he would get 2 good wins for me...
My strategy this year was to just pick quickly without any research and put Roro on my anti-team. Strangely didn't work out that well. I have learning troubles.
I learnt the hard way not to anti Flash cause he doesn't do too well in individual leagues. Not a mistake I'm going to make twice. Next round should hopefully go better, PL has helped my knowledge of the KR scene greatly.
At least my Fantasy for Bravo trade seems to have paid off this week. As for my next trade, if I can still ditch RorO I might do it but sOs is going if I can get a decent trade for him, it hurts to do so but he's not playing like he should be
The strategy to pick one player from each team is working quite well so far. :D
My only hindsight is that #1) I chose CJ herO over Flash and #2) I chose two CJ players. =(
Same amount of points with 2/3 of players being from CJ and 1/3 from SKT T1. I think neither of our main team picks are great, we just lucked out on our antis
Traded SKT for KT, hoping they win both and somehow I will be able to trade KT for JinAir for the last week. Somehow I doubt it though :p Also, Coca out - Bunny in. Seems like JinAir coaches don't believe in Coca. On anti Mvp out, Byun in. Just to be sure since he is playing against newcomer.
KT playing 2 games, I can trade Flash for Solar. Still risky but Samsung with one match makes me haemorrhage less this way.
Fantasy over Bravo, time to trade back I guess. As much as I love sOs and the fact he's back in Code S, his PL performances recently make me feel like Rain is going to win. So Rain over sOs.
This is where Flash repeats his Code A performance just to upset me or something.

KT's last 2 games are this week. KT's point value will drop to 0, so you can't trade it anymore if you choose to get it.

I traded him after week one seeing he wasn't fielded anymore when they even played 2 times. But you know what ? i'm pretty sure he will play at week 5, i base this on absolutely nothing but my intuition.

Can someone explain something to me please? I had Squirtle on my anti, and he gave me a -5 after the first two weeks. +1 lineup point from that match vs KT. He didn't get to play, so it was not erased by losing.
Super in my anti with 2 pvps this week...Very risky, even though he plays better players, zest and cj.hero. should I trade him away? The options are sniper reality stats. I think reality is the best bet because he plays only one match, liquid hero

You gotta be cold and emotionless in your picks. As much as I want Roro to lose, it would be a terrible idea to put him on my antiteam. I mean, he is up there on the points list. DRG on the other hand has been great on my antiteam. I like the guy, but lets be honest - his only place is on the antiteam.
I really really wanted to be cold but trading Roro for Maru is not an option... well it is the only option. Squirtle -> MyuNgSiK (Squirtle doesn't play this week and I think we'll see more of Myungsik with Stats and Zest generally unimpressive and Myungsik getting into Code S)
Jin Air -> KT Rolster (I love Jin Air but they play SKT while KT plays Prime and MVP... that's just too good to pass up)
If you have the balls to go all-in on Hush this week with his current 1.40 trade value (he's apparently CJ's first attempt at replacing Hydra), much respect. Could be a big gain or a total disaster depending on how he does. I'm doing well enough that I don't want to take the risk. Same for Bunny or Billowy.

I'll likely end up trading KT for another team next week. Heck, they might pass Jin Air with two easy wins this coming week and I'll get Jin Air back. If not I'll probably get Samsung.

You can't do that. I wanted to do the same (SKT -> KT this week and then KT->JinAir or KT->Samsung next week), but you actually cannot do that. When a team has no matches left, their trade value goes down to 0, meaning if you get KT this week, you stuck with them also next week.

Well, that's how it was explained to me a page or two back and it actually makes sense. I mean, it is known that the adjusted trade value is calculated also with remaining matches in mind, and if there are 0 remaining, any x * 0 = 0.

Hm, I guess that makes sense. The things you learn! Then investing in KT for this week is not a great idea for me; I undid both my trades and instead am trading Squirtle for Hush and Trap for Bunny. Both of them play twice and CJ has two relatively easy matches this week. They'll both zero out in value after this week too since CJ also has on matches next week, but no better options are really available that I see.
Caught up on last night's VODs, and man CJ did not come through for me but at least Hush won his game and they both play again. Creator coming through for Prime, this is why I got him to start the season, I thought Prime would get into some ace matches due to the short series but dumped him a few weeks ago. I wonder how many people still stuck it out with him.
Too bad DRG didn't take out Flash and punish everyone putting him on their anti-team. I thought he had it when he crushed Flash's first push but those two misplays with his infestors (failing to complete the chain fungal on the vikings and dumping 40 infested terrans on the planetary to no effect) really made the difference.
BTW why is the scoring "+1 for Ace appearance, -2 for Ace loss, +3 for Ace win" rather than "-1 for Ace loss, +4 for Ace win"? I think it looks better/cleaner this way.

Though he did play very well against Flash in the ace.
I wonder what the value anti picks will be next round; I got 13 points out of Hydra/Shine(MVP)/ByuN this round and they've combined for a total of zero wins and -3 points to me. I figure next round they'll together be worth about 5 points. DRG probably will be a 2 or 3 pointer instead of 6.

Wait what second place?
I gotta admit, to the people at the top, they are very brave! Trading off someone after they already won you 10+ pointz? If never do that. For example thruth trading away Byul after giving him 13 points for Soulkey, ends up winning 9 points. So ballzy, Holy crap. Trading is risky business.
I pretty much gotta give up on round 1. I put Ty on my anti-team like an idiot, and even if I didn't do all of my hw, I'm not sure how many would have guessed that he would dominate so much in proleague. Really no way to come back at this point. Oh well! Gotta learn somehow.
Looking at how ty, flash, and maru are the top point scorers of round 1, I think everyone will have them in their team for round 2. They'll all be at 8,9or10 points though, so that will leave little space for fillers.
Moved back up to 25th this week after dropping to ~110 last week. Made some good trades moving Dream > Soulkey, and RorO > TY, although in hindsight I should have taken Flash instead of TY. I was wary given Flash's form last week in GSL, and TY still delivered with his one game.
Rain as my captain has been disappointing. Trading ByuL for Zest after week 1 was a bad move as well. Hopefully I can grab a few more points from Sora and TY this week, and hopefully DRG (anti-team) will lose to CJ's HerO.

Terran players are quite easy to rate for me. If you know what to look for when they play, it's quite easy to distinguish a potentially monstrous Terran from a bench filling one. For example, multitasking and micro will always be capabilities that make good Terrans always push further what they can do with the race, even when the metagame isn't favoring Terran. TY was always top notch at both

Well, I would not predict him being basically top performer (he is tied @ 6 wins with Maru and Flash iirc, although he is on 6-0 while both Maru and Flash have losses), but I knew he would probably be top player. I watched him a lot last Proleague and I always thought he is amazingly good.
Rough day for Jin Air = rough day for me (at least sOs and HerO got me a few points). I really need Hush, Bunny and CJ to come through against MVP tomorrow to salvage the week.
Looks like I'll be finishing top 100 again. I've almost won the whole thing twice minus one trade always biting me in the ass. Haven't really done anything bad this time minus roro on the anti team.
Trade limit is going to hurt me this week since my team currently over half CJ and KT who aren't going to play this week. I'm hoping I can still find a way to hang on to top 100.
My one trade for the last week of R1 is HerO (IM) -> Pigbaby. Not a lot of players I can trade HerO for, but Pigbaby's team plays twice (though he only plays once) and his only match is against DeParture, who is unproven to say the least. Plus this way I'm ALL in on Jin Air; if they crush face in both matches this week I'll do great, otherwise......

To confirm, this is the last week of this FPL round, it will be reset for round two of proleague and you'll get to pick an entire new team. At the end of season, aggregate scores from all of the rounds will be taken to determine the overall season winner. FPL does not extend into the playoffs, only regular season games will be counted.
I have 3 KT + 1 CJ... No chance I'm going to move up in the rankings this week. I'm just hoping I can hold on to a top 100 here. I did some very poor planning last week by trading for additional KT players...
The best would be if you had "money in bank". for example, If you sell Maru for 30 $ and buy PartinG for 25$ you would have 5 $ in bank. So you could use it for later trades.

trading is fun so it should be free lol. Maybe I don't understand something.
It's there to discourage casual trades, otherwise you could just trade for players that are on a lineup or a winning team each week and be guaranteed easy points with very little risk.
I like the fact that we have to choose 1 terran and zerg in addition to all the protosses, but it can sometimes be really annoying when trading. I wanted to trade my token terran for a zerg and vice versa, but its simply not possible.
Is this intentional or is it there for simplicity of implementation?

They are not fielded on this last week ( I guess you could gamble on an ace appearance)

Well you just make sure you have 1 of each race after the trades are done so if you have 1 terran and want to trade him for a toss, you trade another player for a terran, or you don't trade.

An ace appearance for another team?
Yeah it's a proper gamble
Hopefully TY is able to play some aces then, on KT he has apparently no chance :/

Of course, I've already traded Flash for Jaedong and TY for Bisu. I am expecting to win some easy points

Of course, but what I wanted to do is to trade my Terran (I have 1) for a Zerg and then my (different) Zerg (again, I have only 1) for a different Terran. Except I can't do this, because first I'd need to trade one of my Protosses for a Terran, then trade the Terran for a Zerg, and then I can't trade the Zerg because I have no trades left.

KT and CJ have played all their games for this round, so they have no chance to earn any more points for this FPL.

resets between rounds, playoffs don't count
Lame. Round playoffs should still count.
That's a dumb system, as players whose teams get to the playoffs will be worth much more, and the point values will be impossible to calculate because one would not be able to know the number of remaining matches each player has.
Even the Proleague most wins award does not count playoffs as they recognise that it is inherently unfair.

There is completely no problem at all. Adjusted Trade Value = Trade Value X No. of remaining matches. KT and CJ have no matches left, so their Adjusted Trade Values are all 0.

Samsung Shine is the one with higher trade value. You can tell from clicking on the player under the trade section of FPL, which brings you to the TLPD page of the player. Also, the team is listed beside the player name.
HOLY MACKEREL I actually got to 4th place?! Grats to Thruth and Sasquatch who've been sparring up top for pretty much the whole time and esdf for going with a totally boss no-trade line-up!
Congrats to Thruth! Amazing that after all that he wins by a considerable margin. Also, honourable mention to Sasquatch who has been right up there the whole time.
Considering I started week 1 with a nice -13 from ByuL. Traded him away from the anti only to see him lose all remaining games. Creator on anti looked like a sure bet, but then he decided winning games could be fun. Picking CJ Entus players cost me in the end, but I guess nobody expected them to shit the bed that hard.
I finished #9. Would have been top 5 (too painful to calculate exactly where) if sOs had just won that ace match against HerO. I got kinda gypped by the fact that the ace match didn't matter to Jin Air for playoff purposes, otherwise they would have sent out Maru and he probably wins. Still very happy of course. Grats to Thruth.
Dayum, can't believe this :D congrats to Sasquath, who was basically tied with me most of the round and was one Solar win from taking this all also, props for the rOrO anti-teamers for balls of steel :D

You'd be exactly in 5th position if sOs won at 114. If Maru got sent out and wins you'll probably end up 5th/6th; Sasquatch would be 3rd, esdf 2nd and I'd be 1 point behind Sasquatch for having Maru on ace. Top 4 was simply too far ahead of the rest by the end to shuffle much. Just for curiousity's sake, I checked out Week 4 trades, and it turns out that a trade of Soulkey for Shine (!) would have gotten me to within 2 points of winning IF I had not put him in as Captain. Them's the breaks. In any case, I had written off FPL this season as a lost cause that I was just having fun with since the first week had me at #400. Never expected to break into top ten in the end, as it's been only my second FPL where I've gotten to that point.
Can't believe I forgot to do trades for the last week, although I would have just traded Trap anyway and still lost. Grats Thruth! First time I lost rank 1 was the final week :D

Aye that, congratz on tetrachoric for topping anti-RorO, achieving nearly top 100 with a solid -22 in ur bag aint easy feat. On the other hand Heggy finishes in the bottom of anti-RorO with a -2 score overall.
