LoL is designed to be more fun than DotA. That's why it was conceived. No denying, no shady mechanics (like tower aggro switching, creep pulling, camp stacking, respawn blocking... all counter intuitive stuff that are of no interest of your average gamer), more skillshots (doesn't mean they are harder to use, they're just funner to use than directly clicking on the enemy champion), easier jungle, easier map vision control, spammable spells (in DotA, most champion will go out of mana after 2 spell casts and will have to rely on autoattacks and buying mana potions).
Personally I don't care about graphics, but I've heard many people complain about the very dark atmosphere in DotA2 (at least on the scourge side). They just prefer a lighter setting, and the LoL characters are appealing to girls, which is a huge advantage in marketability.
I'm not saying LoL is better than DotA2. Purely on the game development aspect, Valve has done an incredible job on DotA2. LoL has a shitty client, lacks a few core features like replays and client interactivity. But for pure gameplay and "fun factor", I think LoL has a better philosophy that's more appealing to your average gamer (and no, your average gamer doesn't enjoy playing Starcraft 2. The game is just way too difficult to be of any appeal, simply because it's not fun to lose over and over again to a friend who plays a bit more than you).

Seems like any one who can't cut it in SC2 anymore move to LoL. That must be an incredibly easy game by comparison.

Apparently people like to say it's easier because it's not as mechanically complex or as clunky as dota, but that certainly doesn't make it the shittier game. :s

You can't say that you wish him luck but hope he returns. It doesn't work that way. If you truly wish him luck, then you wish him to be successful and you wish he enjoys his new career. Why would he return if he finds both of those things? It just doesn't make sense.

(see, opinions) You can't compare a MOBA to an RTS. There are similar aspects that people may argue on, but overall they are completely different games that have their own set of skills that need to be developed. Just because a game isn't as "hard to play" as another certainly doesn't make it worse.

People argue that it's easier, but when you look at DotA which is another MOBA not too radiaclly different from LoL no one hates on that.

I think MKP would be the first to tell you that he just wasn't competeting at the level he was accustomed to in 2011 so it's time to move on. As far as the scene dying. That's retarded. I've followed SC since SC1 and I can't remember a time where there wasn't great new players from all across the globe. The casual SC2 fan has never heard of Dear or soO, but they're in the Code S finals now and they are both super good. SC2 is a very dynamic game and it's always attracting new players and new sponsors. The naysayers are just people who want to see SC2 fail.

Hey, DotA has Queen of Pain, perhaps a bit Lina and Crystal Maiden.
LoL has how many already ?
Ahri, Akali, Caitlyn, Elise, Evelynn, Fiora, Irelia, Janna, Katarina, LeBlanc, Nidalee, Miss Fortune, Morgana, Shyvana, Sona, Vayne, Zyra, Jinx, etc etc etc ?
I mean comon, they had to redesign Sejuiani COMPLETLY because they got accused of sexism. LoL is full of fan service to a disgusting point.

Talkin about the people who come here to say that the SC2 scene is dying and it's all about LOL and/or Dota. Of course it would seem like that to someone who only plays/watches LOL and Dota. They don't follow the scene.
