Oh, so when MKP quits SC2 for LoL, the headline reads exactly that, but when Beastyqt retires for LoL, it just reads "Beastyqt retires". Why don't you just write "irrelevant European quits dead game"?

This is really disappointing... I know MKP hasn't brought in any results recently and was knocked out of Code A recently as well, but he was still my favorite player :c I wish him luck in LoL, but hopefully he'll come back like Select did

Yet another in a long and growing list of players moving on. Can't blame these people, they have their reasons. Just sucks to see every week someone retires from Sc2 and it is worse when they simply switch games. This isn't because I dislike these other games (because I do) but because it shows to me and a lot of other people that something isn't right with the Sc2 pro scene. That for a lot of these players something is wrong and that is worrying. It's as if, as an eSport, its becoming unsustainable.

GL marineKing!, though i doubt your new fans will appreciate how you used to use pure marine strats vs banes in the GSL open seasons thus earning so much love an adoration!!

If anything's killing SC2 it's probably Dota 2.

Most of the more hardcore SC2 scene spent its time hating on LoL, subsample the #tl IRC channel. But they are all fine with Dota 2 and most play Dota 2 and have moved to it from SC2, and TL has also committed to Dota 2.
That's not to say there's anything wrong with Dota 2 or LoL, but Dota 2 is probably doing more to take people away from SC2 than LoL every did by being super popular.

I think I might give LoL a chance now, MKP was truely my favorite pro player and I was positive that he would still come up with some results (I mean, I never saw him being completely out of shape in WCS Korea, actually he was very close getting good results).

MLGs with DRG and MKP are good memories to me, MKP was definitely a player that I didn´t think would leave the scene easily.

I´m really curious about the future of SC2, the coming months must keep bringing new surprises.

Meh doesn't really bother me to see players who are basically no longer relevant to the top tier echelon of the pros leaving the scene. If JD, Rain, or INnoVation for instance leave the scene then I would care. However, I have a hard time respecting pros leaving the game that made them who they are in order to go to another game.

I'll prob catch flack for this post but I don't really care :D

MarineKing was my favorite SC2 player ever... with Boxer. OMG. This is huge news... Anyone knows if he played his last game in Code A ? Last time I saw him was in UP and down. Did he play a game in GSL after that ? Thanks

I had to laugh when the headlines on another site read "Top SC2 player switches to League of Legends"
MKP hasn't been "top" since what? 2011? Sure he probably won shit in 2012 but he wasn't like MVP tier, not since 2011.
