MVP and MKP were the main reason i loved sc2.... The biggest retirement yet IMO... League is too competitive for someone who just started to play... I'd love to see him do well in League.... but just like Cocoa and puzzle...... unlikely...

making diamond (when it was the highest) with all 3 races on separate accts was so easy... less than 50 games each. Sure, getting to mid-high masters was a challenge but not that bad... merely getting to gold in LoL was a fking nightmare edit: no prior moba or rts experience whatsoever

LOL..... but difference was i've been playing BW for 5 years.. so easy transition... Gold in league... but easy masters in SC2 protoss/zerg League is totally based on team decisions... team fights and such. split decisions to turn fights. MKP has the mechanics but now he needs to apply it League.. I got a feeling he will do well...

MKP gave us some good memories and his micro paved the way on how to play Terran, an important player to the SC2 scene

At least I'd still hold lots of respect for going into a competitive game like dota 2. Don't get me wrong i respect marineking for his amazing games and effort he put into starcraft but this is just.... no. But LoL is more competitive - more fans, more money, higher quality of tournaments. And let's not pretend DotA is not casual - it was that map everyone played because they sucked at Warcraft. As for the news - expected. There are not a lot more money than the SC2 scene and there is little incentive for new sponsors to chime in, moving to the biggest eSport game is the smart move. Doesn't mean I won't miss him.

Very curious as to how Grape is doing. I don't follow LoL but I think he and a bunch of ex-Samsung KHAN players switched to LoL back at the end of KeSPA hosting BW leagues. I know Puzzle and CoCa eventually came back to SC2. What happened to sC?

What happened to sC? sC came back to sc2 and FXO for a while but recently " retired " and switched back to LoL again, apparently Grape did well in LoL and is on the core roster of a good team.

I know Puzzle and CoCa eventually came back to SC2. What happened to sC? Tazza, former hite Sparkyz player, is now watch. He's gone to the LoL World Championships two years in a row. Very popular player. Grape, former Samsung Khan player, is now Ggoong. He made his debut during OGN Summer, the most recent League tournament in Korea, and is a starter on Tazza's sister team, Najin White Shield. He was extremely good mechanically in his rookie season, but had some questionable decisions. Has a lot of potential and has kept his job going into the OGN Winter season. Brave didn't make it. sC didn't make it, came back to SC2, and is now going to try LoL again with TheBest.

Or if it is just one last effort to stay in eSports before moving on. It depends. Please keep in mind that i.e. Stephano was playing Warcraft 3 professionally before switching to SC2. The same goes for ThorZaIN. Let me rephrase a question for you: I'm curious how many progamers who excelled in old game and switch games, actually do well in the new game.

Doesn't mean I won't miss him. more popular maybe, but in terms of complexity and required skill it's far below dota2 or HoN. Besides, dota2 is getting more popular, even in South Korea and might even catch up to LoL someday. ^^' Don't get me wrong, there are several reasons why LoL is so popular: great timing in releasing the game, great support for both casual and pro-players by RIOT, great marketing, it's accessible etc. But IMHO, heavily e-sports-related people will sooner or later move on to the more complex and sophisticated game, if it doesn't heavily lack in other parts (which Dota2 doesn't, in any other form than the lower number of players). So to get back to the topic: Why doesn't some dota2 Team pick up MKP? I mean, there are already several Korean SC2 Pro-Teams with Dota2 Teams (ST, MVP, FXO) and it could be a great popularity-booster for dota2. That's the kind of advertising that will really bring new Players and Viewers to your game and that's exactly where RIOT does everything right - I bet they got MKP an offer or sth. or maybe even the allure of the tons of Prize-money for a moderately hard to play game was enough.
