this is for koreans to farm money While I doubt this was done intentionally, I can see how abuse can stem from it. Imagine Root, Quantic, or Western Wolves bringing over their star players to compete in their home league. I doubt KESPA or ESF teams will send players over, but I can easily see foreign teams doing it. I'd almost put money on Jaedong playing NA.
eg/tl invested a shitton of money into proleague, i dont think they are gona bring JD to america, when they need his help for proleague. I think idra/demuslim can hold the fort in NA actually, but EG looks like they are going to have players in each region

Unlikely, EG has invested too much money into PL/Korea to take away one of their decent players for an ample amount of time.
It's more likely than any of the other Kespa or eSF players moving over. Also, tell that to Stephano.

this is for koreans to farm money well, the catch is: if the koreans chose the "easy route" aka NA or EU, they can't play in their big national league (WCS Korea previously known as GSL and OSL). considering that the dream and highest goal of many korean progamers is to play on the big screen and display their skills to their countryman (and international viewers, too), they have a tough choice ahead of them.
on the other hand, foreigners now have to chose between: a) staying home, chosing their league (NA or EU) and probably die to koreans. b) go to korea, but still play in NA/EU with lag, resulting in getting even more slaughtered, but with a better practice environment and more chances at other events resulting from better practice. c) go to korea and chose to qualify through the korean qualifiers and look down on all the wusses who chosed something different. and naturally getting their ass handed to them.
now you have to see it differentiated. of course, on the first look, this is quite bad. our foreigners have limited chances to qualify for the finals, since every way will have them facing koreans. this means less foreigner representation at the biggest sc2-tournament this year and results in posssibly less hype for the tournament. BUT: on the other hand, foreigners finally are forced to do somehing to stay relevant in the competition. they have to face and beat top class koreans, which means that the count of relevant foreigners will dwindle, but those who remain will eventually be good enough to stand up against the koreans.
also, you shouldn't forget that only the GSL/OSL are now transformed into a pure WCS-qualifier. there will be many other offline tournaments which will be exactly like they always have been. in the end, this system tries to get the best of the best to the finals, unlike last year, where less than the half of the players weren't really on the level of the top koreans who attended the tournament. it's maybe a lot meaner to foreigner, but overall it is fairer, because you now actually have to be among the best to qualify.

Instead of inviting the top 5 qualifiers from each of the 3 regions, then giving a spot to the hosting region; why don't they just invite PartinG back for winning WCS 2012?

They just hired a coach who probably is making six figures a year, contracted two new players, and have a very shallow lineup. Aside from Jaedong, who else is there that can compete on a high level in ZvX? The only way they will get Jaedong in America is if they create a "Little Seoul" in Arizona and fly in 747s of fan girls to simulate life for Jaedong.

Talk about unrealistic expectations.

Wait so let me get this strait...plz correct me if I am wrong...
there will be 2x GSL and 1 OSL per year (3 WCS total) there will be 3 major MLG tournaments per year (All worth WCS points) there will be 3 ESL's (again, all worth WCS points) 3 joint tournaments (top 5,5,6 from regions) for WCS 1 Grand championship ===================
And that's it from MLG, ESL, and GSL/OSL (excluding team leagues) ??????
So aside from that.. dreamhack, IEM... aaaand NASL? Do I understand above the "======" correctly?
Or will there be regular MLG + WCS MGL?...Regular GSL + WCS GSL...etc etc... I'm confused.

PartinG gets to be the 16th seed for all 3 seasons? That doesn't seem too fair.
PartinG should just get the 16th spot for when Korea does the host seasonal finale (hopefully this season).

jaedong, revival, seed, killer, mvp, vampire, tear, dream, first
all those top players are CODE B actually, if they are smart they not fight the "code b" on wcs korea again, go to wcs europe or wcs na and dominates...
i think a good thing to point system is giving a player who belongs to the region he is playing more points than a "foreigner" in that region, imagine flash winning wcs na, and (put a american player here) winning the wcs na, the american are reward more points than flash, it will encourage the koreans to really think about move

GSL and OSL will be the same tournament as WCS KR. But there will be regular MLG like before and another WCS NA organized by MLG.

Read the small text in the pictures on the first page. They should clear some stuff up.

ok cool... I was worried the MLG content would plummet! Same goes for ESL as with MLG?

Not for all 3 seasons. For the grand finals at Blizzcon.

as someone who is not a hardcore sc2 follower i don't understand what this actually means for me as a viewer

It's such a shame, WCS was the only non-Korean event I was really excited for last year. It was so different from everything else, it had such great ideas and opportunities. I don't know. I guess I might watch it.
