I hope Dragon chooses NA! Would be sweet to see dragon compete in a weekly league.

I really just want to watch higher quality games. Right now, that means primarily Koreans, because few others can hack it. The game is a lot more fun to watch when the number of stupid mistakes by players is at an absolute minimum. Same reason you don't see non-ATP tennis on TV. It kinda sucks by comparison.

if foreigners want to win stuff maybe they should get better. i'm fucking sick of western players not dedicating anywhere near as much time and energy to practice as Koreans do and then complain when they lose to them.

So why did I give GOM ~100 euros for 4 GSLs + Blizzard cup again if they're only going to do 2 "GSLs" which will be free 720p anyway? Any word on possible refunds if you bought a year ticket?

I don't mind the idea of Koreans playing in any region if it's locked for a year. I just wish they made them at least live in the region so team's/player's will only pick it if they are confident it's worth it + they are more likely to practice on that server if they live there so the skill of everyone playing there should go up.

No, Code S is basically a qualifier for the big end-of-season WCS event, and Code S will be much tougher. So yes Code S is WCS Korea, but the point is WCS Korea is much harder than WCS 'Worlds'.

Not necessarily. Harder than the seasonal finals? Probably, as unless there is a mass migration of Koreans to the other regions a fair amount of foreigners are likely to get through to those.

But the grand finals at Blizzcon? No way. That could easily be 14-16 Koreans as it's based on top point earners for the year. Presumably, Koreans are going to win all of the seasonal finals so...unless foreigners kick ass at the non-wcs events for additional points how can they possibly gain entry?

The grand finals is essentially, several code S seasons/OSL and the seasonal finals to even qualify. Chances are it's going to be filled with badasses.

Except without the 27 other best players at the finals, and a lot of the lesser but really good players being splintered from the competition of GSL to other regions, making GSL less exciting for little pay off.

If they are truly the best then they will pretty much be only players in the big finale at blizzcon.

Beside it would give foreigners more spots and chance too. If it goes by GSL format then:

We will have 32 spots for premier division, 48 spots for challenger division. That means up and comer players would have a staple tournaments to play and improve themselves by playing with good players seasonally.

Just like no one watches Europe Cup because its stacked with non-European born players, right?

Top points earners for grand finals? How can they compare points from WCS KR and WCS NA/EU? Stephano will be No.1 seed for grand final every year, top koreans can't even guarantee top 16 for WCS KR every season, they will definitely get less points. It's possible that code B Koreans can get more points in NA than life or Flash in Korea.

Hint: their main objective is to keep the A-teamers in good practice. How does relocating to NA/EU help their A team in korea where it counts?

Not only that, but SPL is still the premier league for them. I'll call it now and say there is zero chance any Kespa player goes to NA/EU.

It's like half the people complain Koreans would take all the NA/EU spot while the other half complain about NA/EU competition not to the same standard as KR. Can't you guys get a room and make a baby or something...

Regarding the twitchtv angle, does this mean we'll get GSL in HD for free now?

this is for koreans to farm money

Wow, compared to last year's WCS this is about the most underwhelming thing I could have conceived.
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.
