People need to digest the information before raging for no reason. I thought we were better than this TL community. D:
This is feffing awesome news!
GSL and OSL are still just as prestigious and important if not even more so now. Not only do you get the title of being a GSL/OSL champion and prize money. You also get points to seed you into one last huge tourney at the end of the year! Depending on how they distribute points this point system might almost completely eliminate "pointless games" where an outcome of the match is moot for one of the players.
This also gives players with bad bracket luck or nerves a huge opportunity!
Finally, picking region thing makes complete sense. Should players like Polt or Violet have to play on the KR server with all the lag in unreasonable times? What about European players who are in American teams? Or American players living in Korea? Most players outside of special circumstances won't play outside their region. Look at those IPL qualifiers. Even code S class players go full retard at 4 in the morning after playing for 3 hours. And the shit ping from crud NA Internet won't help either.
Honestly the only thing that really seems dumb is GSL and OSL being "dual casted" why would anyone want to watch moletrap over tastetossis?

I'm a little confused. The three Korean WCS and the GSL, OSL, and another GSL are the same tournament? As in GSL april is the same thing as the first WCS Korea? But the WCS NA/EU are their own separate 8-11 week long tournaments, they're not part of MLG/IEM main events, though you can still earn points towards WCS NA/EU by attending these main events.
Is this correct?

Very interesting, will be keeping an eye on this to see how well they pull it off. Good to know that both esf and kespa are going to have to work together. Maybe it'll help relations in the long run. Players being able to choose what region to play in is quite interesting as well. I figure NA will be a ground for B-teamers, maybe even some A teamers since it would technically be easier than the KR or EU one

I wonder if the GSL prize pool will change as it's sorta two tournaments now.

That's right from what I gathered
GSL/OSL = WCS Korea
GSL(now WCS Korea season 1) -> OSL(Summer WCS Korea season 2) -> GSL (4th quarter 2013 WCS Korea season 3)
Regular MLG/IEM is untouched

Hmm so instead of 4 GSL seasons which was announced earlier, we are only going to have 2 GSL season this year? Or will there still be 4 GSL seasons but only 2 counting for WCS Korea?

"That means it's possible you'll see Korean players who reside in other regions joining WCS America or WCS Europe—and we hope to see players from other regions participate in WCS."
I don't like this idea, this mean literally any code b korean will be able to play in those and as we saw in NASL, latency won't stop them from smashing NA players.

MLG isn't a weekend event anymore? That would be too bad

Doesn't seem to be a good thing for KeSPA, why do they agree this, just doesn't have enough bargain power?

Well 1 gsl season already passed for 2013 so looks like 3 seasons total for 2013.
I can't see where a 4th season fits in unless like you said 1 doesn't count towards WCS (which would be odd).

If using baseball terms.. WCS-KR will be MLB WCS-EU will become like Nippon Baseball League WCS-NA will become AAA baseball.
Yeah, agreed. The funny part is Nippon Baseball League isn't actually as good as AAA baseball.

Here are some eSports figures from last year: [Imgur](http://i.imgur.com/1j8F2aw)
Blizzard spent $784,580 on WCS last year. This year, they're spending $1,600,000.
Add the costs of infrastructure in each continent and you come to the conclusion that OMG I LOVE YOU, BLIZZARD.

Sundance gonna get so drunk tonight, I bet.

So if top 5 from each region every season goes to the global finals, how will that work with the GSL format? The 4 players who get eliminated at ro8 play a mini bracket for 5th place?
