Most games here at release cost a good $90, often more depending on where you get it from... And no it isn't just 'a few new units', it is an new campaign and shitload of Bnet features... That shit doesn't just develop itself you know, somebody has got to get paid. It's not "too" expensive, it's just expensive relative to what you are getting. If you are just playing for ladder, $40 is an overpayment compared to what other (new multiplayer) games you can get for the same cost. You are actually allowed to say something is overpriced even if you can afford it. Shocking right? Though people do have a point, the blizzard store is usually in the higher price ranges, you'll probably be able to get it a fair deal cheaper if you put some effort into it.

Brood War used to cost $30, adjusted for inflation and stuff, $40 isn't too bad. On the other hand, there was no eSports scene back then.

You will propably be able to buy it cheaper elsewhere, but 40€ is a joke pretty much.

Without much research i can pre order a physical copy for "Price Promise £29.86" so im pretty happy with the price ![]() And if that is the release date, lol blizzard failed on that one xD UK£ 29.86 = 47.456498 US$ (src: google) congratz.

Lets face it, some people expect it to be $10.

This is like people complaining cod costs to much since they only play the 4-6 hour single player.

But I guess it could be March 12th. I was worried about this as well, but the date says 03-12-2013 for me on the US site, maybe they changed it.

I wasn't quite old enough, but I heard back in the really early days spawning pool costed 150? $30 for 4 pools isn't what I have in mind for value. Granted, nobody actually knew how to play back then.
